You are bidding on a rare, meticulously maintained, and fantastically running 2006 Lotus Exige.
As many know, 2006 was the first year the Exige made its way to the United States.  There were 338 imported. (Not sure how many still are registered.)
In this year, they were normally aspirated.  The 1 owner (previous to me), who purchased the car in Irvine, CA in 2006 maintained the engine type.

I purchased the vehicle in November 2013, about 400 miles ago. I added a Lotus OEM Supercharger in partnership with Lotus Specialist Intermecanica. (Consult Lotus Forums for owner Waldir Zangiacomi's knowledge, expertise, and reputation. He has been working on Lotus vehicles since 1967.)

The vehicle carries a clean CarFax and AutoCheck. As well as a clear New York State Title. (It's been in my garage, or at Intermecanica's garage since purchase.)

Along with the Lotus OEM Supercharger, the engine received lots of love and attention in the form of new OEM and Lotus specific parts  - either purchased through British Racing Group or Sector 111.
Injectors, two fuel pumps, Intercooler, GPAN. One of the two ECU's has been tuned to run E85.  When tuned, it generated approximately 330 WHP.  I will provide a second ECU for the vehicle to run regular unleaded gas. The engine and all parts allow for both fuels. All is brand new.

Additional New Parts include, listed with their purchase date:
  •  Rotors - April 2014
  •  Metal Braided Brake Lines - April 2014
  •  High Performance Brake Pads (Will also come with more street friendly brand new for front and back brake pads. High Performance, race brake pads squeek.) - May 2014
  •  Alpine Bluetooth radio with Pioneer Speakers. Works and sounds fantastic - April 2014
  •  Innovate Air/Fuel and Supercharger gauges (See pics) - March 2014
  •  HID Low and High Beams - March 2014
  •  Nitron Single Ajustable (Sport Pro) Shocks - 24 setting - ($2,100) - March 2014
  •  BOE -5 (New) Exhaust - May 2014
  •  New Difflow 5 Element Diffuser April 2014
  •  New Toyo R888 - Have about 200 miles on them. May 2014. Balanced and Aligned
  •  5 Point Drivers Harness, along with traditional 3 point seat belts (see pics) - April 2014
  •  RTD Bar - March 2014
  •  Battery - April 2014
  •  Belts and Pulleys have been purchased and installed - April 2014
  •  2010 Exige Roof - Full Mohawk Scoop - March 2014 (Painted Solar Yellow)
  •  Replaced Lug Nuts on all 4 wheels - April 2014
  • 3M Star Shield - May 2014 (removal of 2006 Star Shield)
Maintenance:
  • All Fluids have been changed more than once since owning the car  - 6 months - Oil, Brake, Coolant, Transmission, etc.
  • Received a 2 day detailing by CP Car Detailing in May 2014
Other:
  •  Vehicle has two Carbon Fiber Seats
  •  The car will also come with a Certificate of Provenance (a vehicle Birth Certificate) issued by Lotus Company Archivist, Any Graham.
There is much more that was purchased for the car to not only bring it up to 2014 levels, but also rival if not surpass latest model Exiges. Will share all purchase and labor receipts.
In all, over $25,000 in parts and labor was put into this vehicle. (As with a many aspects of a house renovation, recouping the costs is not necessarily on the list. But please know that every part has been purchased and installed with thought and precision by one of the best Lotus mechanics/engineers in the northeast.)

As mentioned, since owning the car it has been driven about 400+ miles.

Ideally, the potential buyer is local enough to see the vehicle. It is will surprise, as it did me when I saw it in person and on the lift before buying it. From what was shared with me, the 1 owner in California never tracked the normally aspirated car. He drove it, and used it in fact as his daily driver, doing freeway driving.

Since owning it, the car has seen two (15 minutes each) of safety car control sessions on a closed course. (Limerock). While I am not the active 'track guy,' the next owner would be ready to drive spiritedly on the road, and depending on skill level, be at the front of the line on a track day.

One other items of interest: The vehicle was fitted with a hinge to lift the rear clam for easy access/maintenance. The construct and design is similar to the BOE Clam Hinge.   (See picture.) This will save hours accessing tough to reach areas of the engine.
Those who own an S260 may disagree, but this car, as it has been carefully kept 100% Lotus but given a significant jolt, performs at or above the S240 of S260 - with the handling of an Exige and 330 Wheel Horsepower. Dyno run in May 2014.

Lotus nearing decision on sedan versus crossover

Mon, Mar 9 2015

Lotus may be comfortable for the time being developing newer and better versions of its existing sports cars, but it won't necessarily skate by on its aging product portfolio forever. According to a report from Reuters, Lotus and its Malaysian parent company DRB-Hicom are currently considering adding a new model to the British automaker's lineup. And in a further sign of the times, it seems likely that the new model would be either a sedan or crossover. "I'm a bit torn between an SUV and a four-door sports car – but in the end I can see that the SUV has the bigger market," Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales told Reuters. "We'd do an SUV that is very light, very fast on the track and has outstanding handling," in keeping with what Lotus is known for. It would not be the first sports car manufacturer to delve into either category, of course. Porsche rebuilt its business by expanding into both categories with models like the Panamera, Cayenne and Macan. Maserati has long offered successive versions of the Quattroporte, more recently launched the Ghibli sedan and will soon introduce the Levante crossover. Aston Martin has toyed with both, as has Lamborghini. Other marques like Ferrari and McLaren, however, remain resolutely opposed to either proposition. This past December, we reported that Lotus was preparing to go a slightly different route by offering a high-riding version of the Evora instead of a proper four-door sport-ute. This latest development, however, would appear to be quite different. The company's engineering division showcased the APX crossover concept back in 2006, and revealed the Eterne sedan concept as part of the grandiose plans of the previous Bahar administration in 2010. The last time the proposition came up this past August, nearly half of respondents to our online poll voted that Lotus should build a sedan, but not a crossover. Over a quarter of you said Lotus should built both, 2 percent voted for the crossover over the sedan, and 22 percent said Lotus should steer clear of either.

Lotus will let Evija buyers configure their 2,000-hp electric car on their couch

Wed, Apr 15 2020

The men and women who reserved a Lotus Evija will have the opportunity to configure their 2,000-horsepower electric car without getting off their couch. Several aspects of the coupe are customizable, so the company created a digital, touchscreen-based configurator to let clients design their car without leaving their home. Online configurators have been around for over a decade, but Lotus explained its software is more advanced and life-like than what's normally found on a manufacturer's website. It relies on a powerful graphics processor and software gleaned from the gaming world to display extremely realistic images of the car that almost look like they're photographs. Enthusiasts can see the Evija from every angle, inside and out, and they can pelt it into different worlds to check how a specific color looks in the shade or in direct sunlight. The configurator's last party trick is what the firm calls a 360-degree fly-through film which looks like it was shot with a drone. Lotus Evija configurator View 10 Photos When they're done, customers can hit save to send their configuration to Lotus headquarters in Hethel, England. They won't take delivery immediately, the Evija is a limited-edition car built largely by hand, so the company will whet their appetite by periodically sending them gifts. It hasn't revealed what it will ship clients, though it's not too far-fetched to imagine a scale model will be in one of the care packages. Each customer will also receive a personalized build book showing the car at different stages during the production process. Lotus will make 130 examples of the Evija, and it's planning to launch production before the end of 2020. The first year's allocation is already spoken for, according to the firm, so act fast if you want to add one to your collection. Alternatively, Lotus told Autoblog the Evija is a trailblazer that will influence future models, notably in terms of design and technology, so you're in luck if you like what you see but want it at a cheaper price point. Those of us who aren't waiting for a ticket into the Evija club will need to wait for their chance to spec one. "At the moment, [the configurator] is only for customers," a company spokesperson told Autoblog via email. Related Video:

Lotus Motorcycles C-01 now 'ready for the road'

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

When we first laid eyes on leaked images of the Lotus Motorcycles C-01, we wondered if its laid-back, sport cruiser shape was really appropriate for a motorcycle bearing any connection with Colin Chapman and the company's famous "add lightness" mantra. We've now seen official pictures of the bike in multiple color schemes, including classic black and gold, British racing green and even a variant that resembles Martini livery, and while we think it looks pretty cool, our opinion hasn't really changed.
Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that the C-01 isn't an embodiment of the Lotus ethos, as the company that intends to build it isn't really Lotus at all, its builders - German racing firm Kodewa and tuner Holzer Group - merely having licensed the name of the British sportscar maker. It was designed by Daniel Simon, who once worked for Volkswagen and consulted for Bugatti and is the man credited with creating the reborn Tron Light Cycles. Still, looking past its questionable heritage, the C-01 looks pretty darn awesome, and there are some interesting bits that have us looking forward to the production version that's reportedly due within the next two months.
As expected, power comes in at 200 horsepower, courtesy of a modified version of KTM's 1,195-cc V-twin engine. The chassis is made up of steel, titanium and carbon fiber, with a seat height of about 28 inches. Its wheelbase, at about 65 inches, is a full 10 inches longer than a real street-legal superbike, and its front end is raked way out in front with a 19-inch wheel. Those dimensions mean we shouldn't expect much racetrack prowess, unless its rider is only planning on going in a straight line. Indeed, with a claimed dry weight of under 400 pounds, the Lotus Motorcycles C-01 ought to be mighty quick down the quarter mile.
