2004 Lincoln Towncar Stretch Limousine 8-10 Passenger on 2040-cars
Southold, New York, United States
Features On the positive side the car is in good working condition. Ready for business. It is an 8-10 passenger 5th door stretch built by Krystal Coach. The lighting, TV, DVD player and stereo all work well.
The ceiling lights are very pretty and the bar looks good when it is
fully stocked. Also the car shines up very nicely. It has no major mechanical or cosmetic defects. This car does have some wear and tear on the interior and exterior, but is very clean and useable for nights out on the town, vineyard tours, proms and airport/casino transfers, etc.
Condition On the exterior, one side rocker panel needs to be replaced, and it could use a little buffing on the hood and trunk, but has not rust. There is a small skid underneath the back right bumper which is barely noticeable. On the interior, there are a few small blemishes. The back seat is also a little worn from use, so the new owner may choose to recondition, and the side seat needs a little stitching at the seam. It's about 6 inches- not very noticeable. History This car was purchased from a limousine company in Virginia. This is a decent vehicle, and our intention was to give this car some TLC and continue to use it, but due to personal issues we have decided not to operate a limousine company at this time. Please feel free to contact us with questions. Shipping We prefer that the buyer pick up or ship the vehicle. Thank you |

Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
Lincoln putting perfume on its sales
Mon, 18 Aug 2014Lincoln has a scent. But unlike those from Mustang, Lamborghini or even Shark by Tara, you can't buy it and you have to visit a Lincoln dealership to inhale its notes of jasmine hedione, mate tea leaves and tonka beans. Essence of Lincoln - that's what it's called - is being piped through the ventilation systems at some showrooms to help "create an emotional connection between the luxury brand and its customers," and olfactorily promote the idea of "luxury and warmth." Where it's not run through the ducts, visitors can sample it on scent cards.
Master perfumer Rene Morgenthaler worked with aroma house SensoryMax to design Essence of Lincoln. Also including traces of Earl Grey bergamot and green tea, whenever you encounter it you're meant to enjoy "a feeling of belonging to an exclusive, forward-thinking group that values style and success." And then buy an MKC. There's a press release below with details and an image to explain more, if you're still having a little trouble smelling the orange blossoms.
Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment
Thu, 20 Mar 2014One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.
