Up for sale here is a 1983 Lincoln Mark VI Continental. The car is all original and has 112K miles on the odometer, clean CA title. Bay Area car its entire life. I am the second owner, owned since 1995, car was originally bought new in 1983 at Ford dealer in the East Bay Area. Garage kept, overall in pretty good shape. 5.0 fuel injected V8, Automatic transmission with overdrive. Smogged in June and it passed with flying colors. Registration is good until next June, all DMV fees are up to date. New headliner New Fuel Pump New Fuel Pump relay New fuel filter Fresh oil change New belts New Air Pump New tires with white wall stripe (Hankook) New Spark plugs, wires, distributer cap and rotor New Rear Shocks New brake Master Cylinder New high pressure power steering hose Known Issues: The headlight covers won't stay down for more than a few hours when the car is off. I think its a vacuum leak, but they stay down when the car is on. The front windows work most of the time, but sometimes they won't open or close. I think it is a loose wire. I already changed the fuse. Minor dents and scratches on the rear doors. Nothing too bad, but it is on great shape for a original car. |

Lincoln debuts MKC ads starring Matthew McConaughey
Fri, 05 Sep 2014Lincoln is making the decisive commitment that it wants to improve its brand perception going forward. It can't be cheap to hire A-list talent like Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey and director Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for Drive, for its new ad campaign for the 2015 MKC crossover, but the company is showing that it's serious about the new vehicle and its future. The first three of these five commercials are just hitting YouTube, and they begin airing on television on September 6.
The Live in Your Moment campaign is all about Lincoln trying to sell not just the MKC to customers but also explain the brand's philosophy. It's one of the oldest luxury automakers around, but hasn't exactly had a glorious history, especially recently. Based on these first ads, we can see that there's a definite focus on philosophizing rather than focusing on the crossover. At times, McConaughey seems just a mustache and a mangled beer can away from reprising his role from True Detective.
The first ad (above) is simply titled Intro and sets the mood and concept for the whole campaign. Bull has McConaughey talking to a longhorn in the middle of a road, and I Just Like It has him explaining his affinity for the brand. Lincoln's full release is available below, and you can view the other ads by flipping through the playlist in the video player above.
2013 Lincoln MKZ [w/video]
Fri, 07 Dec 2012Rebranding When Reinvention Is Requisite
Lincoln - pardon us, the Lincoln Motor Company - assures us that Ford is committed to its success. The awkwardness of the statement (which feels vaguely like your mother telling you that she loves and supports you regardless of what everyone else thinks) was hard to escape when we recently spent a few days with the all-new second-generation 2013 Lincoln MKZ.
Launched earlier this year at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the MKZ is a midsize premium sedan that shares platforms with the Ford Fusion (also all-new for 2013). The sedan's primary competitors, according to Lincoln, include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Cadillac CTS and Lexus ES Series sedans - each an established, accomplished player.
Lincoln needs a farewell address, not a new marketing plan

The trouble with Ford's Lincoln brand is that no one cares about it any more.
Not long after I heard that Mark LaNeve, chief operating officer of Ford agency Team Detroit, was moving to take over direct operations of the New York ad agency Hudson Rouge for Lincoln, I heard that JCPenney CEO Ron Johnson was ousted. The two events are connected.
