1970 Lincoln Mark Iii Built 460 High Performance on 2040-cars

Year:1970 Mileage:80500
Location:

Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States

Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States

This is a very clean 80,000 original mile 70 Lincoln Mark III, The car was in storage from 1987-2013,within the last year the motor was gone over and detailed, new edelbrock aluminum intake, mild lunati cam, rebuilt heads, fuel pump,Holley 750 double pumper, timing chain, water pump, alt, voltage reg,radiator,etc.. All new,It also received all new brakes, lines, master cylinder, tires, and heater core, the car runs, drives, and shifts great, tracks nice and straight. The body is pretty straight and had one repaint and a little body work In the lower quarters sometime in the early 80's I would think, the body held up well it has very minor bubbling here and there but it's mostly in just the paint and not very noticeable, the paint shines great and overall from about 5 feet almost looks perfect, great cruise night car,but to be show worthy could use some very minor body work and a repaint as it had some nicks and chips from storage that were touched up.The trim is very nice and the chrome is presentable and very straight, the worst part of the chrome is the right rear bumper end has some rust, and a little piece of trim is missing by the trunk. The interior is original and near perfect, the trunk has fresh carpet, the top is very nice but has very minor bubbling at the bottom of the back window,The glass is all very nice, all windows work,The undercarriage is perfectly rust free, frame, floors, trunk, wheel wells, fuel tank etc...The only things I found to not work are the fuel gauge, the A/C needs charged, and the blower motor for the heat and air(it works but is noisy).I also have every original part that was taken off, cam, carb, intake, valve covers, air cleaner,etc..

Overall the car is a very nice presentable driver quality car,it looks great just how it is ,or someone can do a little work and take it to the next level.  I tried to represent the car as honest and best as I could and will be happy to answer any questions,Thanks for looking.

Ford issues six recalls covering 101,000 vehicles for multiple issues

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

Ford is announcing six separate recalls for a variety of issues affecting a dozen models and a total of 100,610 vehicles in North America. However, according to Ford spokesperson Kelli Felker, "None of them have caused accidents or injuries." Half of them cover fewer than 1,000 cars.
The largest recall covers 92,022 North American examples (about 83,250 in the US) of some models of the Ford Taurus, Lincoln MKS, Ford Interceptor, Flex and Lincoln MKT from the 2013 and 2014 model years; the 2012-2014 Edge and the 2014 Lincoln MKX. All of them have a potential issue with the halfshaft on the right side that might not be fully seated and could move outward over time. If it shifts too far, the models may no longer be able to drive, and the condition could also allow the vehicles to roll away, even when in Park. Dealers will inspect the shaft to make sure it's seated and will replace the part if necessary.
The next-largest recall covers 5,264 North American examples (4,867 in the US) of the Ford F59 Commercial Stripped Chassis from the 2011-2014 model years. It's possible that an electrical junction box can corrode in areas with salty roads and short circuit. The problem could potentially cause a fire. Dealers will replace the box with an improved design.

Consumer Reports explains its disdain for infotainment

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

One of the perks of reviewing all manner of cars and trucks is that we're exposed to all the different infotainment systems. Whether Cadillac's CUE, Chrysler's UConnect, BMW's iDrive or MyFord Touch, we sample each and every infotainment system on the market.
Not surprisingly, some are better than others. It seems consumers have come to a similar consensus, with Consumer Reports claiming that Ford and Lincoln, Cadillac and Honda offer the worst user infotainment experiences. Not surprisingly, you won't find much argument among the Autoblog staff.
Take a look below to see just what it is about the latest batch of infotainment systems that grinds CR's gears. After that, scroll down into Comments and let us know if you agree with the mag's views.

Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks

Sun, 31 Mar 2013

Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.
