430 V8 stock motor with Edelbrock Carb.   believed only 117K miles on drive train.  Engine purrs like a kitten.

Basics like speedo, dash gauges work as they should.

power trunk and top need to be serviced.  I have preformed a bypass test on all top parts, Although top and trunk do not currently work as they should, I can tell you honestly that The top pump motor is good, the hydraulic rams cyc work, the electric latch system works, the upper panel lift motor works too. So in other words it is likely that it will be a relay, or limit switch adjustment or replacement will most likely get this top working properly.  John Cashman travels 48 states fixing power tops on 1961-67 Lincoln Convertibles all year. John is Highly recommended (813) 390 1950 .

Brakes stop well.  Just replaced Master cyc, both rear cyc, rear shoes,and front rubber hoses.

Glass and chrome.  All glass is good with one small chip in front windshield.  Interior chrome is in decent to good condition.  Chrome around front interior windshield is pitted (they all are), other wise interior chrome is  good for her age.  Exterior chrome is in good condition for her age.  Not show quality , but over all chrome is good, better than most original  Lincolns.

Body and rust.  Body is pretty straight, small dent on each front fender.  Drivers rear door replaced from different car.  As for as i can tell this car has the original paint with no known bondo on her. Real hard to find a rust free bondo free classic car.  NO rust rot, has surface rust here and there, but no rust holes or rot.  Solid frame too.

Brand new black canvas top and back window (expensive top).  New carpet kit too..

History and dependable?  So I just recently purchased this car.  She had been taking a nap since 1975.  When i got her she was missing a door and missing the drive train.  Since she was such a rare and solid car I got a 1965 hardtop donor car for all needed running gear.  the donor car was a clean old man car in a recent wreck.  I was told that it had 117K original miles.  the speedo read 17k miles I am sure it turned over one time.  I do believe it is 117K miles on drive train.  Engine sounds good and healthy, no internal knocks or clunks.  Ideals nice, no excessive smoke, no major leeks of any fluids.  I just got her running this year, I have been recently driving her around town, I got a good feeling about this car.  I think she will be a good runner. She has a nice smooth ride to her .

1965 Lincoln is the best year.  Lots of us Lincoln lovers believe 1965 is the best year.  It is the first year of front disk brakes, last year of cool body lines and one year only classy grill.  One of the first years to have the much needed leg room for rear passengers (1961-63 had little leg room ).  Anyways only 3300 convertibles were made in 1965 , Currently today only like 538 convertible 1965 Lincolns  total, are currently registered in all of the USA So lets say there is another 500 not registered or out of this country, that would make this literally  one of 1000 left in the entire world! So it is rare to find a decent 1965 convertible at a reasonable price. This may be your opportunity to own a sweet car and a cool peace of history that is destined to go up dramatically in near future.

Ford rakes in record $2.5b profit during Q1 of 2016

Fears that the auto industry is due for a downturn may be fading. Ford posted record profits in the first quarter of 2016, the company announced Thursday. Chief financial officer Bob Shanks said Ford enjoyed its best quarterly performance in history, generating operating profits of $3.8 billion and a record profit margin of 9.8 percent. Overall, the company's $2.5 billion profit in the quarter more than doubled from the 2015 quarterly results. "The first quarter was an absolutely terrific start to the year, an all-time record for the company, with very strong performance across the business," said chief executive officer Mark Fields. "We're excited about our future and confident in our ability to deliver long-term growth and profitability as we expand our business model to be both an auto and a mobility company." During the quarter, Ford announced the creation of Ford Smart Mobility, a new subsidiary that would vet future mobility projects in the realm of car-sharing, fractional ownership and autonomous deployment. The company also kicked off a billion-dollar makeover of its Dearborn, Michigan campus and headquarters. The company's after-tax earnings of $0.68 per share trumped Wall Street's expectations, and were significantly up from $0.39 per share a year ago. The results were buoyed by the company's fourth consecutive quarter of growth in Europe, which comes after a long period of stagnant sales. Ford's earnings results come amid reports that April car sales are on pace to jump 4 percent year over year, which would make it the best-selling April in history. Kelley Blue Book projects that car sales will reach 1.51 million this month, placing the industry on track for 17.5 million vehicles sold in 2016. Even as SUV and crossover sales drive the market, analysts say Nissan and Honda are positioned to benefit from renewed interest in mid-size cars. "Following a disappointing March, we expect sales to get back on track in April with SAAR in the mid-17 million range," said Tim Fleming, analyst for Kelley Blue Book. "Increased fleet sales and rising incentive spending among automakers remain the factors to watch, but the retail demand appears to be holding steady, signaling the industry's strong run isn't over quite yet." Junkyard Gem: 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Car

Just before Ford downsized the Continental for 1980 and made the Town Car a separate model for 1981, the biggest and plushest new sedan in the Dearborn universe was the mighty Continental Town Car. Here's one from 1978, the second-to-last model year of the two-and-a-half-ton Continental Town Car, found in nice condition in a Denver car graveyard last month. This car rolled out of the Lincoln showroom loaded, with the landau-style "Coach Roof" and just about every additional option. Base price on the 1978 Continental with the Town Car package started at $11,606 (about $48,350 in 2020 dollars), but this car cost much more than that. A new Mercedes-Benz S-Class cost better than twice as much that year (and it was worth it), but you still had to be a heavy-duty high-roller to buy a new '78 Town Car. The base engine in the 1978 Continental was a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 making a grim 166 horsepower, a truly horrific ratio of 25.2 horsepower per liter of displacement (torque came to a respectable 319 lb-ft, though). If the new Navigator got 25.2 horses for each liter in its turbo V6, it would have a mere 88 horsepower to haul its nearly three tons, rather than the 450 horses that 21st-century engine technology gives us. The good news with this car is that it came with the optional 460-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8, rated at 210 horsepower and 357 lb-ft. That was sufficient to get this car's 4,660 pounds moving well enough. Still just 28 horses per liter, but a significant upgrade. These cars weren't about performance, however. They were about a silent, cushy ride and poofy seats that swallowed you in velour comfort. When did Detroit stop making these pillow-top seats? And opera lights? And snazzy "coffin-handle" door pulls? Yes, even the wire wheels (a $333 option, or $1,385 today) stayed on this car to the very end. Why get a Rolls-Royce when you could have this, the grille of this behemoth seems to ask us. Though it remained in good condition when it arrived in its final parking space, a Malaise Era Continental sedan just isn't worth much in the enthusiast world. Even a 1978 Mark V in nice shape would be hard-pressed to find a forever home nowadays. At least it had a chance to visit the Norman Rockwell Museum in Massachusetts before the end. In what came to look like a very smart move by Ford, in light of certain geopolitical events in 1979, the Panther-based 1980 Continentals weighed nearly a half-ton less than this car.
