I've got a nice used Lexus LX470 with low miles (139,500) for sale. I've done lots of baseline maintenance on it and was planning on keeping it. My family is growing by 1 more soon, and I can only have one Land Cruiser. So here's the info.... The Good:
The Bad
I have a few extra parts and planned on doing more to it before we had a baby coming. Parts:
I had some plans for this rig. Armor it with new front and rear bumpers. Replace CV boots. New Stereo Unit Double DIN. Skid Plates. I just have to stop working on it and stick to my FZJ80 that I've had for a while. I was going to sell it and keep the LX, but I'm attached to the 80, so the LX must go. After that, you should be good to go for a long time. For an additional $300, I could include a full stainless exhaust system from the exhaust manifolds back. Good Luck!! I picked it up at an auction last December with plans to keep it and sell by FZJ80. If you check the Carfax, it shows that it was in an accident. From what I can tell, it was the front Driver side corner. I know that the Driver's side fender was replace and maybe the hood. I can't find the factory stickers on those. I did not see any signs of damage too far in, so it must have been not too bad. It did have a new headlight put in on the Driver's side since it looks newer than the other one. It's probably why the hood is not faded and the roof is. The brakes are at around 70%. Toyota recalling 1.67 million vehicles worldwide in 3 campaigns
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Toyota is issuing three separate recalls covering 1.67 million vehicles worldwide with most of those models in Japan. It looks like the campaigns' impact on the US may be smaller, though. According to Reuters, Toyota isn't aware of any accidents, injuries or fatalities affecting the models. Some yet-unnamed Lexus models might also be affected.
The largest of the campaigns does not currently affect any US-market vehicles. About 802,000 units of the Toyota Crown Majesta, Crown, Noah and Voxy in Japan are being repaired to replace a seal that could leak in the brake master cylinder. Those already leaking get a new brake booster, as well, according to Reuters.
The only recall currently believed to affect the US is due to a problem covering approximately 759,000 vehicles with 423,000 of them here. The repair is to fix a faulty fuel delivery pipe that could cause a fire if the fuel leaks out. Unfortunately, we don't know which models it covers. Autoblog spoke to Toyota spokesperson Mona Richard and was told the information was still "under embargo." When exactly that embargo will lift isn't yet known, but we're on the case.
Lexus gives Jay Leno a shot at driving its 2014 IS
Mon, 10 Dec 2012After we drove a prototype of the 2014 Lexus IS, we were told that Lexus was shipping it back to Japan. As it turns out, late-night funnyman Jay Leno was already in the motherland with the coming sport sedan, and he lapped it around Fuji Motor Speedway with Chief Engineer Junichi Furuyama.
This was probably during his LFA drive two months ago, actually, when Furuyama-san was even more tight-lipped about the IS than he was a week ago, so Leno has to make the best guesses he can. Leno goes over the whole car, then takes it out for a casual spin, so at least you get to see it in action. As for Jay's take, you'll just have to watch the video below to find out.
Lexus RC 350 F Sport ready to take on Europe's coupes
Fri, 28 Feb 2014Rumbling into the slot between the Lexus RC 350 Sport Coupe and the RC F is this, the RC 350 F Sport. Debuting at the Geneva Motor Show next week, the intergalactic malevolence of that spindle grille is given further aggression with a mesh treatment and 19-inch F Sport mesh wheels in dark metallic. Traditionally, F Sport models have also brandished unique fascias, but the standard RC is so visually aggressive to begin with, it still ought to throw quite a scare into rivals like the BMW 4 Series M Sport.
Bigger identifiers come in the cabin and under the skin, foremost being the redrum-reminiscent Rioja Red leather treatment and Silver Performance trim, perforated leather wrapped 'round the steering wheel and a moving center ring in the dash cluster inspired by the LFA. When the coupe is put into Sport+ mode, the included adaptive damping will kick in, and buyers can optionally order the four-wheel steering system when the car goes on sale in the US this fall.
