Hello Buyers,

I am selling my 1997 Lexus LS 400. This car has been an excellent daily driver for me, but I have purchased another vehicle for myself so I do not need this one anymore. It runs excellent and can be driven long distance with confidence. All major mechanical components of the car are in excellent condition. The car starts, shifts, steers, drives, brakes, and generally runs excellent. The A/C climate control works very well blowing ice cold air within a few seconds. These are very well made full size sedans and are well equipped standard. This one has Power seats, tilt wheel, climate control, dual airbags, leather, CD changer, and power windows. The tires are newer, however one is not matching but is brand new. This is a great opportunity to get into a classic reliable luxury car at a very affordable price. I would like for it to find a good home and bring a new owner many more years of service. The title is clear / in hand along with a smog license newer then 30 days plus paid california registration until 2014. Although this is a very nice well maintained car it is older and used. Below I listed the flaws I noticed while used it and for buyer confidence I was very nit picky. Most of them only can be noticed very close. I am very confident in the cars mechanical condition, the only thing I had to replace was a transmission mount. The underside can pass for a brand new car, its spotless and has no rust or damage of any sort. I can answer any questions you may have quickly, so don't hesitate to ask. It is 100 percent factory original, no modifications. The smog check proves flawless engine operation with almost "factory" exhaust emissions particulate output!

exterior:
- Minor nicks and scratches (paint shines very nice)
- Few dings but no major dents
- Rims have some scratches from curbs
- New antenna is disconnected since I go through low restricted parking zones
- Rear window needs tint removed.

Interior:
- Driver seat shows signs of use wear (no abuse)
- Passenger seat has one seam opened up (very easy fix)
- Stereo LCD has some pixelation (works 100 percent)
- Dash has two cracks only visible from outside (inside is very hard to notice form seated position) A dash pad would easily cover the blemishes
- When hot outside the tilt wheel only works when the car is started. ( when temp is normal it works all the time) Once I preset the seating position it NEVER bothers me.
- Rear door locks react to switch but do not fully unlock/lock.
- I am missing the keyless entry (Alarm works)

Please bid with the intention to buy. I will accept paypal but the buyer must pay the fee. The car is sold AS-IS. It is for sale locally and may end at any time. Buyer responsible for shipping.

Thank you for your interest and good luck bidding.

Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards

Tue, 27 Nov 2012

Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:

2015 Lexus LS gets tighter turning radius, new infotainment

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Go back a couple of decades and the thought of a Japanese automaker challenging the German limousines would have seemed laughable, but 25 years later the Lexus LS is a mainstay of the luxury sedan market. And it didn't get there by sitting on its laurels, so it should come as little surprise that Lexus is offering some small tweaks as it enters the 2015 model year.
This time around the upgrades are rather minor, consisting primarily of a new multimedia system. It's got an updated navigation system with 12.3-inch display, revised backup camera imagery with dynamic gridlines, and an enhanced Lexus Enform App Suite that can control the locks, ignition, climate control and more, remotely.
While they were at it, Toyota's engineers also reduced the turning circle by four inches (on cars fitted with 18-inch wheels), and enhanced the F Sport package as well. Otherwise, it's essentially the same LS we've always known.

Lexus IS, new and old, and LFA to make splash at SEMA

Mon, 04 Nov 2013

Lexus has announced its Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show cars: a group of eight Lexus IS sedans spanning all three generations, and a 2012 LFA supercar. One of the show cars, a custom 2014 Lexus IS 350 F Sport, is a creation penned by IS fan Rob Evans, the winner of a contest to design a Lexus SEMA show car.
The standouts in the group of Lexus IS show cars, in no particular order, are a 700-horsepower 2014 Lexus IS 340 (it has a heavily modified Toyota Supra inline six swapped in, which is stroked out to 3.4 liters, hence the nomenclature change) by Philip Case and a supercharged 2004 Lexus IS 300 by Maricar Cortez. Both cars prove that oldies can be goodies - the venerable Supra 2JZTE engine, which ceased production over a decade ago, lives on in a 2014 platform, and the 2004 IS 300 gets a supercharger and remains relevant through the use of electronics, such as a back-up radar sensor, upgraded headlights and more.
Of course, the LFA by Guy S. De Alwis will be a stand out on its own, but unfortunately Lexus only provided us with a couple pictures that don't do it justice. We'll have to take a closer look at it on the show floor. Same goes for the IS penned by contest-winner Rob Evans, of which only a rendering was provided.
