This is a no reserve listing for my 1995 Range Rover Classic Long Wheel Base (LWB) Soft Dash.  The 1995 Soft dash, as they are called, is the last year the "Classic" was manufactured and is considered by some to be the most desirable.

I am a Land Rover enthusiast and spent a long time looking for the right Classic so when this one became available I had to have it.  The intent was to replace my short wheel base(SWB) Defender with a LWB Range Rover that could be slept in for camping.  However, this one is simply too nice to modify and I cannot see myself without my Defender or my Series Rover.  So this Range Rover is for sale.

This truck has been well maintained by all owners and I believe I am the 4th owner of this great truck.  The Range Rover Classic LWB comes with the 4.2L V8 engine and this one has a lot of power with only 86,XXX original miles.  It runs well and goes over canyon passes without any trouble. The ABS and Traction Control works well. This Classic does retain the original quiet Borg Warner Transfer Case.   I put the truck in 4Lo just the other day and it worked great.  Tires have good tread and are Michelin Mud + Snow 265/75/R16.

The paint is in wonderful shape for an 18 year old Range Rover.  The roof and bonnet (hood) have been repainted prior to my ownership due to the very common fading that happens over the years.  The body is in very good shape with only a few minor blemishes. This Rangie spent the majority of its life in Texas and Colorado before I took possession of it in November 2012.

The headliner appears to have been replaced at some point and is in great shape.  The drivers seat has some wear that is typical on the drivers side seat bolster. Otherwise the seats are in good shape.  The Sunroof works great and is very smooth in operation.

I have done some work to it and spent a good amount of money to get it up to my high standard.  Some of the things I have done:
New Meridian Steering Box
New Tie Rod ends
New rear trailing arm bushings
New Brake Accumulator
New front rubber OEM floor mats.
New hatch struts
New Serpentine belt
New Muffler
New Catalytic Convertor
I bought the Range Rover with the original air suspension intact, however to improve reliability I installed medium duty Old Man Emu springs with Bilstein shocks.  This combination rides wonderfully.  Were the next owner inclined to revert it back to the air suspension all is still there, minus the air bags of course.  This truck has been professionally maintained and serviced by the head mechanic of GBR of SLC.

Everything works well, except for the usual items like the heated seats and the cruise control - although a lot of vacuum lines for the cruise control were replaced by a previous owner so that may be an easy fix.  The drivers seat works however the contacts on the seat controller need cleaning.  The drivers door exterior handle is cracked.

The Rover has the original spare wheel which appears like new along with the factory Jack, Wrench, and wheel chocks.

It has the factory stereo system and original Land Rover Cassette Stereo. The factory subwoofer is still working great as is the multi CD changer. The Classic has one key and alarm FOB. My intent was to order another, I just never got around to it.

If you have any questions please ask. I have additional pictures on a photo hosting site. Email if interested in seeing them.

You can reach me at 801-815-9959 or email me through eBay.

Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will do whatever I can to make it easy to pick up.  I would not hesitate to drive the Range Rover cross country.  I live close to the Salt Lake City airport and would be happy to pick you up so you can drive the Rangie home.  I have done my best to depict the Range Rover as accurately as possible. If you want a picture of a particular area please do not hesitate to ask.  There is no warranty expressed or implied.  If you have less than 10 positive feedback please contact me prior to bidding.  Remember this is an auction to sell, as such if you are the high bidder you own it and will be expected to pay accordingly.  I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end. I will accept Paypal for this, but payment for the remainder will have to be arranged with me.  The Range Rover is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction if it sells locally.

I recommend a pre-purchase inspection.  If you feel like you would like a second opinion before you buy, I can deliver the Rover to a shop of your choice near me to have an unbiased third party inspection.  However, any costs associated are your responsibility and need to be taken care of by you before I take it to the shop. I can also refer you to the mechanic that has done the work on it.

This is a great car.  Good luck bidding.

Going high-tech, the 4x4 way

Is It An Off-Road Adventure Or Just A Walk In The Park?
I remember having to get out and lock hubs and shift into neutral to engage low range.
Coming off press previews of the 2013 Land Rover Range Rover and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that involved some heavy-duty off-road rock climbing, I'm simply amazed at the capabilities that these vehicles possess. But even more impressive (or troubling depending on your perspective) is the relative ease with which you can operate these vehicles in seemingly impossible terrain.

Jaguar Land Rover proposes seats that scientifically massage your butt, for your health

Thu, Jan 16 2020

Habitually sitting too long can degrade a person's health. Scientific research has proven that dormancy can increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, deep-vein thrombosis, and metabolic syndrome, according to the Harvard Medical School. Although sitting can be avoided in many cases, such as using a standing desk at work, taking a seat is the only option when hopping in the car for a drive. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is hoping to address this negative aspect of cars with a new high-tech seat that the company says mimics the act of walking.  JLR calls the concept a shape-shifting, or morphable, seat system, and it is currently in a trial period with Jaguar Land Rover’s Body Interiors Research division. Using actuators built into the seat's foam, the seat will constantly be in motion with micro-adjustments that can be tuned to the needs of different people and body types. JLR believes it has created a system that recreates what is known as pelvic oscillation, a motion that can supposedly trick the brain into thinking the body is walking. In addition to helping to prevent internal health issues, JLR also notes that a sedentary lifestyle can degrade and shorten muscles in the legs, hips, and rear. If these muscles are worked on a regular basis, the chance and risk of injury and back issues could potentially be reduced. The new seats are just one of many car interior technologies JLR has explored. In the past, we've seen tech that tracks brainwaves and heart rates, creates augmented reality, helps prevent motion sickness, and helps stop the spread of germs. They've also taken the time to have an expert demonstrate the perfect seating position. Most of this stuff is experimental for now, but it's possible similar features could eventually trickle down to production cars, in time. See how the seat moves in the video below. Jaguar and Land Rover to consolidate dealerships

Thu, 29 Nov 2012

Jaguar and Land Rover are set to merge their sales facilities, according to Inside Line. Jaguar Land Rover North America President Andy Gross says 45 percent of Jaguar owners also have an SUV in their stable, so it makes sense to give customers as much exposure to the cat's high-riding cousins and possible. The number of overall outlets will remain the same, and the brands will reportedly remain separate on the showroom floor, however.
So far, just one dealer has made the move to combine under the roof of one 68,000 square-foot facility in Paramus, New Jersey (above), though a further 20 are ready to make the shift and become Jaguar Land Rover outlets. Gross believes the shift is necessary so that his company's dealer network will accurately reflect the company's products. We'll see how cozy the brands are when Jaguar starts rolling out its own SUVs in a few years.
