Thanks for checking out our 2004 Land Rover Discovery SE7. While you are at this listing to check out the truck, let me introduce myself, because knowing who is selling a vehicle is often time as important as the car or truck itself.

My name is Kevin Helder, and I am the owner of Peoples Car Company Inc. based out of Grandville Michigan. Peoples Car (English translation of Volks Wagen) has been in business since 1999, focusing on European autos, primarily VW and Audi, but inclusive of Rover, BMW and Volvo. As a sole proprietor, I focus on quality, not quantity. For me, what I sell is a representation of myself.

I have chosen this business because I love cars and people, and immensely enjoy matching the right vehicle with the right person. That is another reason I focus on the quality, as I want every purchase to be a perfect match with a happy ending. You will find an accurate description of any vehicle I am selling, and you will notice that I have 100% positive feedback. I live by the "Golden Rule" for many reasons, one of which is I have gone to look at vehicles that are described inaccurately, only to find out when I get there that besides the year, make, model and VIN, the vehicle bears no resemblance to the owner's description. I refuse to do that, so you will find that imperfections are fully disclosed. That said, I am human, so there are times when I miss something, but that is the exception to the rule.

Enough about me...now let me tell you more about the Disco. I will give you a verbal walk around and plenty of photos (click on link to view: http://www.vuvox.com/collage/detail/068853c9ec), so you know exactly what to expect, should you be the proud owner of this truck:

EXTERIOR: The paint has an exceptional luster, there is no rust, and only a few cosmetic imperfections. They include a crack in the left front bumper corner, the front bumper slightly pushed up, door dings on the right rear door, a scratch on the left rear quarter, and a small crease in the rear door (all are photographed). There are also 2 scratches in the rear glass from the rear wiper. Finally, the wheel well moldings do show weathering.

INTERIOR: The leather seats (fronts are heated) are in excellent condition, including the rear jump seats (7 passenger). The truck was never smoked in, so it still smells great and there are no burns or cuts. The only imperfections inside include the headliner starting to sag in a couple of areas and the boot for the emergency brake is looking rather gnarly.

ELECTRICAL: Everything, and I mean everything, works and works as it should. All the lights work, the dual sunroofs work, all the power windows work, as do the power locks, heated seats and cruise control.

MECHANICAL: Zero issues whatsoever. No leaks, no peculiar noises, no repairs needed. The tires have 6/32's tread remaining with no uneven wear. The motor starts, idles and accelerates perfectly. The transmission (with only 30,000 miles on it) shifts flawlessly. The 4WD system works as it should, with new fluid in the transfer case and differential lock feature. Brakes have at least 50% of the pads remaining.

Jaguar Land Rover backs Arc startup that sells $100,000 electric motorcycles

Wed, Nov 7 2018

Before it even put its first motorcycle on the road, new startup Arc reeled in a major player to back its ambitious product plan. In conjunction with the reveal of the fully electric Vector superbike at the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori ( EICMA) show in Milan, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced it is placing capital in Arc, using JLR's investment company InMotion Ventures. Arc claims the Vector is the first all-electric motorcycle with integrated Human Machine Interface (HMI) to come to market. Arc, not to be confused with Keanu Reeve's Arch motorcycle company, has a pretty typical mission statement: "To use progressive design and technology to transform people's relationship with an automative experience. For us, for you, for our planet." At the core, Arc wants to make connected, clean, exclusive superbikes, and the Vector is its first try. Although Arc didn't get into the nitty gritty details about the make-up of the bike, it did give some surface specs and information. The bike's structure is built using a carbon composite to create a "unique Arc battery monocoque." Weight is also kept low using carbon fiber swing arms. There is no mention of the size or type of electric powertrain, but Arc claims it will have a highway range of about 120 miles or a city range of 170 miles on a single charge. Arc says it will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 124 mph. Stopping power comes from a Brembo brake system, while ride and handling relies on Ohlins dampers. The launch does not stop at the motorcycle, but includes gear, as well. The Vector links up with a jacket and a helmet for a fully connected experience. Partnering with U.K.-based impact protection design company Knox, Arc created the Arc Pilot System. Using audio, the armored Origin riding jacket provides haptic feedback based on numerous riding inputs to help keep the driver safe and aware. Furthermore, Arc linked up with luxury helmet maker Hedon to build the WiFi-connected Zenith helmet that houses an integrated projection heads-up display. In addition to showing things such as speed or battery life of the bike, the helmet uses a built-in rear camera to display other vehicles in the rider's blind spots. The rider can command the system using controls on the bike or via voice commands.

Who picks car colors and materials? Designers like Hannah Custance

Tue, Dec 21 2021

As automotive journalists, we're often asked "how did you get that job?" People usually didn't even know you could do such a thing. In this 7 Questions series, we're highlighting other jobs in the automotive industry that you might not have heard about before. What do they do, how'd they get to do it and other questions about their particular corner of the car world. Slowly but surely, the automotive landscape is becoming more colorful. Look beyond the unrelentingly conservative palette of white, black and gray most buyers opt for and you'll see the increased use of exterior trim types beyond the usual chrome. There's gloss black, of course, but also other metallic finishes like gold or copper. Those can be found inside, too, where there's also an increase in colorful leathers and trims, innovative fabrics, new wood types and finishes, and greater creativity in general. So where is this change coming from? The answer is designers like Hannah Custance, the color and materials design manager for Jaguar Land Rover. Her team's latest effort is also its magnum opus, the 2022 Range Rover. Although saddled with the expectations that comes with one of the automotive industry's classic nameplates, the all-new Range Rover is also a celebration of cutting edge manufacturing and fashion-forward materials selection. We sat down with Hannah at the L.A. Auto Show to find out more about color and materials designers, how she ended up in the industry, and advice she might have for young designers out there. It has been condensed for brevity. Autoblog: What does a color and materials design manager to do?Hannah Custance: I basically look after a team of designers who design finishes for every A surface on the car. So, that could be exterior finishes. It could be interior trim materials, soft materials, hard materials, chromes, metals, woods, ceramic – that's one of the new ones – anything you can kind of touch and see is color material design. Autoblog: How early in the design process does your team become involved.Hannah: Right at the very start. In fact, we look at materials that don't have a product assigned to them or a car assigned to them. So, it takes actually a very long time for us to get materials approved and fully validated. We have to find suppliers that are willing to work in automotive and our test standards are incredibly high, some of the highest in the industry.
