Description- Recently restored Land Rover Defender 90 4 x 4 with only 67,264 original miles. The first date of registration is on August 1st 1988 and came from a small town in South Wales called Pontypool just North East of Cardiff.  The vehicle was only owned by 3 people in total since August 1st 1988 then was imported by myself this year for resale. The vehicle has a Full Clear title from the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration. There is NO additional paper work required and was 100% legally imported in which complies with all DOT and EPA laws for its age. Due to the age of the vehicle it also is State inspection exempt and is eligible for State Historic Tags.

This 4x4 Defender is completely solid throughout with no rot anywhere, it’s 100% original and runs and drives like a dream.  I also inspected the Door Shells, Door Bottoms, Bulkhead, Screen Corners, Chassis, Seals and anywhere else you can think of and found no issues. This defender is completely solid with no rot anywhere, 100% original, and runs and drives prefect. The truck recently had a professional paint job in the original color with silver trim so the paint looks great.

With a new high quality canvas and frame at the rear of the truck in which case is completely brand new it should last for many years to come. The canvas kit from X-More Trim cost more than $2200 and it one of the best you can buy. You can fully remove the canvas in summer and re attach in winter or on the day its takes about 5/10 minutes to do the same with the pickup cab it is also fully removable however requires more work.
The wheels are from a discovery with 30mm billet aluminum spacers to fit the newer style wheels this gives it a wider track and better handling. The
tires are in good condition and included is a full working spare witch is bolted in the rear of the pick up cab with a spare wheel cover. The pick up bead and body is lined with Aluminum diamond plate.

The Land Rover Specialist did a full service and a MOT test which is a UK safety inspection that includes things like rot or rust, brake efficiency, brake line corrosion, engine CO2 and much more see attached mot copy. We also road tested this truck for 2 weeks in which case is driven daily before we advertised and in doing so have replaced the full exhaust system to ensure they are issue free.

Brief overview of the specification

Jeep driver nearly gets washed away by fast moving river

Wed, May 11 2016

Just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should. For example, you should never attempt to cross a fast-moving river in a bone stock Grand Cherokee no matter how shallow the river looks. Especially if you don't know what you're doing. A video posted recently to the Facebook group Jeep EXPERIENCE, shows an inexperienced jeep driver learning that lesson the hard way. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The video starts innocently enough, with a group of off-roaders watching one of their friends attempt to ford a shallow looking river. Things quickly go sideways however, when the driver of the silver Grand Cherokee just plunges right in and quickly gets in over his head. The river is moving faster than the driver thinks it is, the driver panics, makes some bad decisions, then the jeep is turned over and swept downstream. Eventually, the jeep is hauled out by a Land Rover after a long comedy of errors that involves one guy losing his trousers to the current and the Cherokee ingesting untold gallons of water. What went wrong here? Well, It's pretty obvious from the video that the Cherokee driver didn't have a clear idea of where he was going or about the condition of the riverbed. He chickened out halfway across the river, and in what appears to be a misguided attempt at turning back, he reverses, digs himself deeper in the riverbed, then turned broadside on into the current. When he changes his mind again and decides to just gun it for the opposite shore, he drives directly into a deep water hazard that would have been obvious to an experienced off-roader. At that point the jeep and the driver were doomed. Hopefully the driver learned a lesson here, and hopefully he didn't pollute that river too much with the jeep's fluids. Jaguar Land Rover might buy another luxury brand that it doesn't need

Mon, Sep 25 2017

It seems that Jaguar Land Rover may be getting bigger in the near future. According to Bloomberg, the company is looking at acquiring some tech companies, and possibly yet another luxury car brand, provided that it fits with the current lineup of cars. On the surface, this makes some sense since Bloomberg reports that a whopping 78 percent of Tata Motors' revenue comes from luxury brands. And of course, any kind of tech acquisition could be useful considering the rapid development of electric and autonomous vehicles. But dig a little deeper, and a possible luxury brand acquisition just doesn't make sense for Jaguar Land Rover. The main reason for this is that the Jaguar and Land Rover brands have the luxury market thoroughly covered. Both brands offer full luxury lines from entry-level to high-end ( Discovery Sport to Range Rover on the Land Rover side, and XE to XJ on the Jaguar side). They also cater to every kind of luxury, from sporty vehicles such as the F-Type and SVR Land Rovers, to cushy luxury machines such as the XJ and Range Rover. So whether the company is competing with BMW or Mercedes, Jaguar and Land Rover have the bases covered. There aren't any other typical luxury brands that would actually add anything to the current lineup. In fact, adding another conventional luxury brand could actually result in the new brand poaching existing Jaguar and Land Rover buyers, rather than picking up new ones. What would make more sense for Jaguar Land Rover would be to pick up either a more mainstream brand, or an ultra-luxury marque. Neither Jaguar nor Land Rover has something that competes directly with the likes of Ford or Toyota in the mainstream game, or Rolls-Royce or Bentley at the top of the luxury heap. Picking up a brand in one of these segments would allow JLR and Tata Motors to actually expand offerings and pick up more sales, rather than having an internal competitor. What path would be ideal? Probably going even farther upmarket. Supercar makers and ultra-luxury brands continue to sell well, and there's the potential for significant profit by layering on features and content to existing platforms. Perhaps the best possibility for a high-end complement to Jaguar Land Rover would be Aston Martin. Not only does it have a strong reputation and line-up, it also could handle both supercars and luxury sedans, thanks to its Lagonda sub brand. Of course it would require Aston Martin to be receptive to a purchase.
