2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport Sport Utility 2-door 4.0l 4x4 Trail Ready on 2040-cars
Foley, Missouri, United States
I bought this Jeep new and used it as my daily driver for a few years until turning it into a trail vehicle. It is still street legal, but barely. The modifications that have been made include, but are not limited to, Teraflex 4" long arm suspension, 1" body lift, Warn 9500i winch, Dana 44 rear diff. with ARB air locker, Dana 30 front diff. with ARB air locker, ARB high volume compressor, 4.88 Yukon gears, custom front and rear driveshafts, SYE, Teraflex belly-up skid plate, 35-12.50-15 Mickey Thompson Baja Claws on black steel wheels, custom front and rear bumpers with swing away spare tire carrier, hi-lift jack, CB, factory hard top, factory full hard doors, Besttop Sunrider soft top, Besttop two piece soft doors. Drivers seat has worn area on seat back from sliding in and out. See picture. This Jeep has been a lot of fun over the years but I just don't use it anymore. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer as honestly as I can. Again, this Jeep is street legal, but is much better suited for trail running rather than highway driving.
I would be willing (for fuel money) to deliver within 250 miles. Payable by Cash or PayPal. |

Jeep lays out 5-year plan, including rebirth of Grand Wagoneer and new C-segment offering
Tue, 06 May 2014Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Machionne presented a five-year plan for the company brands this morning, with Jeep first up on a long day of presentation. Jeep's head honcho Michael Manley wasted no time in laying out what the foreseeable future will look like for what he calls the "lead global brand" of the company.
Big goals for the next half-decade will include expanding the lineup from five nameplates built in one country, to six nameplates build in six countries. That expansion of models will include both a three-row competitor, and, of course, a small vehicle to slot below Cherokee. The company is also seeking to add a whopping 1,300 dealers over the next few years, to sell all this new metal, and has an aggressive goal of doubling Jeep sales by the time 2018 rolls around.
As expected, that first salvo from the off-road brand will be the debut of the much ballyhooed Renegade small crossover in the third quarter of this year. Jeep has already designated that Renegade will get refreshed for the 2017 model year, as well.
Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures, it's time to start looking into the future of the midsize Jeep model. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name.
From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting. Up front, the seven-slat grille will be front and center, with completely revised headlamp designs that are reportedly angular and sweep well into the front fenders (you can sort of see what we're talking about in the side profile). That doesn't sound very Jeep-like, but we'll reserve judgment until we, you know, see the thing.
The bigger question with the Liberty replacement will be whether or not its off-road chops will be up to snuff. After all, the two previous generations of Liberty models were body-on-frame traditional SUVs, whereas this new Jeep rides on a larger version of the Dodge Dart platform.
Chrysler recalling nearly 141k vehicles over electrical woes
Wed, 02 Oct 2013Software glitches that randomly illuminate warning lights and cause instrument cluster blackouts are forcing Chrysler to recall 140,800 vehicles, The Detroit News reports. The automaker is recalling 132,000 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokees, 91,559 of which are in the US. In addition to the Jeep recalls, Chrysler is adding 10,800 2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks to the list for similar problems.
Chrysler reportedly says, "Both events occurred infrequently and appeared to resolve themselves by tuning the vehicle's ignition off and then on."
Engineers discovered a problem with the anti-lock-braking system software that causes the instrument cluster display of the Grand Cherokee to illuminate warning lights and black out - even its ABS and electronic stability control systems are affected. To fix the Jeeps, Chrysler will update the vehicle's software.
