Thanks for interest in my 1986 Grand Wagoneer.  This is a solid Jeep- ready to go. Currently inspected in NJ- good until  2014. The Grand Wagoneer runs & shifts well, 4x4 works- has no serious mechanical problems.  Frame is solid- no damage at the fuel tank as is common- has a more recent fuel tank holder (see picture).  What you will be purchasing is a good solid Jeep- get you were you need to go and through snow with ease. Not a perfect show piece but solid and reliable.  Jeep still looks good- has the nice options- wind-deflectors on windows and the rear wind spoiler. Has the usual misc. problems typical with these Jeeps.  Is rusted under the floors in back seat area- could be repaired or just drive as it is. Body has only a small amount of visible rust- really nice looking over-all for a 26 year old Jeep (Can be registered as a classic at this point).  Not all power locks work every time, rear window stick going up but works. Cruise not working.  Nuetral switch quirky- sometimes have to start in nuetral- and simple repair to replace the switch though. Has a leak in the AC hose- I will include the needed hose for the repair.  Interior lights not quite right. I am sure you will find some other minor issues but over-all this is a very usable Jeep at a great price.  Yes I could fix all the little problems but then the price of Jeep would be higher- so you get a great price and you put a little elbow grease into it and it gets even better. All power windows working. This is one I have been driving for about 6 months.  If you check my e-bay store you will see I specialize in Wagoneers and know them well. There are a lot of junky Jeeps out there.  This is not one of them.  You will be able to get in and drive- no big surprises.  I have already rebuilt the carb (I have 30 years experience working for Jeep dealers). Starts up cold and goes. New plugs, some exhaust work done, new rear axle bearing, valve cover gasket, and some other recent upgrades. Jeep had a sunroof which leaked and did not work- so I removed it and installed the correct headliner and replaced the roof panel.  Not  really not noticeable unless you are above the Jeep- (see picture). I aso have many Wagoneer parts  in my e-bay store and can help with your future needs. I will also give buyer a $200 credit toward items in my ebay store if closing auction price is above $2800.  I can also service your Jeep for you if you need future repairs as I have a auto repair business and still service the Grand Wagoneers.  I have done work here locally for  east coast customers of Wagonmaster of Texas- I do know these vehicles well.   I own, drive, and love Grand Wagoneers so we can swap stories!!  Check out the pictures.   Has some agresive tires- great for snow- still have some life (do make a little noise going down road with the heavy tread).   Inside is decent-seats not ripped up- had a new carpet installed in cargo area. Nice plus is it has a modern CD player which works. If you do not want to spend a lot of money and want a dependable Grand Wagoneer that still will get some attrention- this is it.

You are welcome to test drive before bidding. You can call me at 609 610 7238 to set that up. Vehicle is located in Hamilton (Near Trenton) NJ- 08610. One mile from exit 62 off I295- easy to find.

Autoblog Minute: FCA issues Uconnect software update amid hacking fears

Wed, Jul 29 2015

Carjacking has gone wireless, as automakers and Congress scramble for a solution after a disturbing video on Wired showed a pair of researchers controlling a Jeep Cherokee remotely. Autoblog's Adam Morath and David Gluckman report on this edition of Autoblog Minute. Show full video transcript text [00:00:00] Carjacking has gone wireless, as automakers and Congress scramble for a solution. I'm Adam Morath and this is your Autoblog Minute. Cars with wireless connections are susceptible to remote hacking, as demonstrated in a disturbing video on Wired.com. The segment showed two researchers remotely controlling a Jeep Cherokee, including running vehicle's the wipers, turning up the music, and ultimately shutting down [00:00:30] the Jeep while it was being driven on the highway by Wired senior writer Andy Greenberg. Washington took note. A press release issued from the desks of senators Ed Markey and Richard Blumenthal introduces legislation protecting drivers from auto security privacy risks. Fiat Chrysler, parent company of Jeep, has a solution for its customers. For more we go to Autoblog's David Gluckman. [GLUCKMAN INTERVIEW] Chrysler has worked with the Uconnect cellular provider Sprint to plug security holes on the carrier side. The vehicles themselves can't be updated wirelessly, so [00:01:00] the remaining changes require physical access. For that, customers have three options: One, download the Uconnect software update to a USB stick and install. Two, wait for FCA to send a USB stick with the latest software that they can install, or third, visit a dealer. Owners should do what they're most comfortable with. I made a video that walks through the whole process from download to install and it took about a half hour. [MORATH] David's full video tutorial of how to install the Uconnect fix can be seen on Autoblog. [00:01:30] It remains to be seen how the rest of the auto industry will respond to these security risks. For Autoblog, I'm Adam Morath. 2018 Jeep Wrangler spied looking more aerodynamic

Tue, May 3 2016

We're getting an early look at one of the most anticipated vehicles from Jeep: the next-generation Wrangler. We expect it to arrive for the 2018 model year and be aluminum-intensive for purposes of weight savings, which will improve fuel economy. The platform is expected to remain a traditional body-on-frame setup, and manufacturing will remain at its longtime Toledo, OH, factory. The design appears true to the Wrangler's heritage, though the windshield is raked back more to make it less brick-like when cutting through the air. From some angles, the front end appears longer if you squint properly, and the front fenders seem wider and squatter than the current model's. There's probably more in store for the new Jeep, but this prototype is under such heavy cladding it's impossible to tell what. Kudos to the folks who make those vinyl coverings. Look for the powertrain to again include a Pentastar V6, this time paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission – again for fuel economy, but also to improve the powertrain's flexibility. A V6 turbo diesel and a mild- hybrid variant are also expected. Even with all these departures from the long-running Wrangler playbook, the off-road capability will remain the vehicle's calling card. The current Wrangler will also be built concurrently with this next-gen model for a time in Toledo, Automotive News reports, giving enthusiasts and traditionalists the best of both worlds. Jeep will also add a pickup based on the Wrangler's underpinnings to its portfolio in a move to capitalize on the resurgence of smaller trucks. The Wrangler is both the halo and centerpiece of the remade Jeep lineup, which quickly is becoming one of Fiat Chrysler's pillars for sales and prestige around the world. Jeep hopes to sell 2 million vehicles globally by 2018. Related Video:

2019 Jeep Renegade gets new turbo engine and new styling

Mon, Oct 1 2018

We told you about the European-spec 2019 Jeep Renegade in June, but today we have the low-down on what the U.S. can expect from the refreshed crossover. New for 2019 is a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 177 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. That means the 1.3-liter boosted four is actually more powerful than the outgoing 160 horsepower 1.4-liter. This engine will be standard on Limited and Trailhawk models but optional on the Sport and Latitude — those cheaper trims will get the carryover 2.4-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine standard. If you option the 1.3-liter, it'll come with stop-start tech as well. Regardless of engine choice, you'll be getting a nine-speed automatic transmission because the existing six-speed manual is MIA for 2019. As a refresher from what we learned before, the Italian-built Jeep crossover gets new front and rear fascias plus new wheel designs to differentiate it from 2018. You can even get 19-inch wheels on Latitude and Limited trims. An available full LED lighting package brings LED headlights, daytime running lights, fog lamps and taillights. Driver assistance features including adaptive cruise control, parallel/perpendicular park assist and front parking sensors are optional as well. There aren't any pictures of the new colors yet, but you can get Slate blue, Sting grey and Bikini paint on your Renegade ... interesting name choice on the last one. Of course, the Renegade will be offered in both front-wheel and four-wheel drive, with the Trailhawk being the most capable of the bunch off-road. Jeep hasn't released official fuel-economy numbers for the 1.3-liter turbo, but it says the smaller engine and active grille shutters should yield an improvement over 2018. Pricing and availability remain a mystery, but we don't imagine it'll be much longer until that information is available. Featured video:
