This Commando is located approx 4-miles from the nearest I-90 exit. - It is parked on our 6-acre commercial parcel ,so we can be very flexible regarding your pickup date. - Over $700.oo new ase shop installed parts within the last 200 miles ,{ 2014 }. - Many other new / upgraded as well such as Jacobs Ultra Team electronic ignition ,shop reman .carburetor ,etc. - This Jeep uses standard factory Ford F-150 wheel lug bolt pattern. - Has MT perm plates as one of our back-up winter 4x4 s. Allways starts right up ,even after sitting for several weeks. I also keep full coverage Insurance on it. - I am not a body man by trade ,however ; I can find zero rust inside anywhere ,solid floors everywhere ,including driver side ,door jams ,rear cargo area & etc. - Everything looks in super condition. - This 4x4 Commando rides & drives very well.- It goes down the hwy strait as an arrow. It is rare to have one of these short wheelbase ,solid axle 4x4's roll as strait as this one does. Just drive one-handed ;no fighting the wheel at all. - The brakes did just start pulling to the right { only when stopping }, but these early 1970's brakes a cheap and simple to work on. - In this very good overall condition this rare Jeep is going to just get harder to find & keep going up in value. - Tires are like new matching 32x11.50 BF Goodrich brand. The clearence should allow for larger tires if you wanted. Also the V8 and gearing would handle larger tires if you desired. - Am only willing to let it go in part due to health consideration ;as well as also owning another Jeep ,5 Internationals ,a Koren war 6x6 ,a UTV ,& etc. - Please note that winning buyer is to plan and cover all pick-up / transportation costs. - As already mentioned ; storage until your pickup date is not a problem. If you needed to leave it parked here for many months,{say more than 4-5 },I would ask for something fair such as 30-bucks per month storage. - This a very nice Commando ,so good luck and Happy Bidding !

GMC boss wants a Jeep Wrangler rival
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Challengers come and challengers go, but the Jeep Wrangler continues to push forward even after vehicles like the Toyota FJ Cruiser and the entire Hummer brand have been shut down. Now GMC reportedly wants to take a stab at the quintessential Jeep, as well.
The news comes directly from Buick-GMC vice president Duncan Aldred, speaking with our compatriots over at Edmunds. Although Aldred said there are no plans currently on the table to expand GMC's lineup beyond the current range, "there is plenty of room everywhere in the hierarchy."
That could include a rival to the Wrangler, as well as a flagship luxury SUV positioned above the current Yukon Denali (pictured above). Just when (or for that matter, if) such models might come into fruition remains a big question mark, but it's certainly interesting to see what GM's dedicated truck brand has on the drawing board.
Marchionne wants to nearly double Jeep sales by 2018
Thu, Jan 15 2015Jeep just keeps breaking its own sales records. A couple of weeks ago, the off-road brand announced its worldwide sales exceeded one million units for the first time, marking its third consecutive global record and the fifth straight year of sales increases here in the US. But FCA isn't about to stop there. TheDetroitBureau.com reports that chief executive Sergio Marchionne, speaking to the media at the Detroit Auto Show, has announced a new sales target for the Jeep division: By 2018, he wants to see Jeep sell 1.9 million units in a single year, nearly doubling its all-time record. The expansion will surely encompass new products, with the all-new Renegade just warming up, a next-generation Wrangler on the way and a reborn Grand Wagoneer in the pipeline, as well. But the focus of FCA's preparations to reach the new target is on production capacity. While it's not clear whether the Toledo, OH plant where half of all the Jeeps sold around the world are currently built will continue to host the next Wrangler, FCA is expanding production overseas. The Renegade is already being built alongside the Fiat 500X in Italy, where another 1,000 workers are being re-hired and where another factory is set to start producing Jeeps, as well. A Renegade-based variant for the South American market will soon be built in Brazil, and by the end of this year, Jeep aims to start local production in China.
Jeep gunning to build 250,000 Cherokees a year
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Contrary to what a certain politician may have said last year about Jeep moving to China, the automaker is in fact doing the opposite, with plans to greatly increase the production capacity at its Toledo North Assembly plant in Ohio. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that there are big plans for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Toledo North, as a local union president has informed the newspaper that Chrysler is planning to produce around 250,000 examples of the new midsize utility per year.
To put this number into context, 250,000 units is more than what Jeep Liberty sales totaled here over the last three years combined. Even taking into consideration that the 250,000 units will be distributed beyond US borders, that's an ambitious volume figure full-stop - and that's without taking into consideration the new Cherokee's love/hate design. In its favor, though, Jeep is making remarkable inroads globally as of late, and the Cherokee's size could work well in emerging markets. To get that kind of output from Toledo's Cherokee assembly line, Chrysler will reportedly hire 1,105 new workers - that's in addition to the 200 workers already being hired to build the popular Jeep Wrangler, which is itself expected to top 220,000 units this year.
