Within the last couple of years the exhaust has been changed, rear leaf springs, front end suspension (bushings), power steering pump, alternator, headliner and windshield was also changed. The truck runs and looks great. The AC blows cold air and the truck has been well maintained and never beat on. There is some cosmetic damage. Nothing major. There are a few dings here and there. There is a dent that extends from the rear door to the quarter panel on the drivers side. Hard to notice. Nothing that can't be fixed with pointless dent removal and some touch up paint. Not a must, looks great as is. There is some rust on the inside of the bottom of the doors. There is a full size spare w/rim and more. It's a great car for everyday use, a college student or just an every day ride. I'm asking $3,900 but have no need for a second car and am looking to sell. I am negotiable."

This particular jeep is a classic and, in my opinion, was one of the best models they have. This truck is used but looks great. Its the last year Jeep made this model and I have enjoyed it. Great truck all year 'round. Like I mentioned in the condition section, there is some cosmetic issue, dings and dents, but nothing that cannot be fixed with minimal investment. It's going to make a great Jeep for someone looking to get their first car. Ideal for college students and will make a perfect seasonal car. I've added all the pictures I think will assist in your decision. If you need any additional information or photos don't hesitate to contact me. I need to sell the car because it sitting in my driveway is a waste. I regularly start the car and take it for a ride.

The car is being sold "as is". There is no warranty. Its a great classic jeep that, in this condition, for this price, are hard to come by. Buyer is completely responsible for shipping. An immediate deposit of $500.00 dollars is required within three days of purchase date. There are no refunds. I hope someone will enjoy this Jeep as I did. Good luck!

WWII Jeep 'found in crate' set to cross Greenwich auction block

Thu, 30 May 2013

Fans of old military vehicles might want to pay extra close attention to the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance coming up this weekend. Crossing the Bonhams auction block on Sunday are a pair of seemingly flawless World War II Jeeps, which are both expected to fetch serious dollars.
Lot Number 305 at the auction is a 1945 Ford GPW Jeep that has been fully restored, which is expected to command between $35,000 and $45,000. Shortly after the Ford GPW, a potentially more interesting 1944 Willys MB (shown above) will be auctioned off, but Hemmings raises some red flags about this Jeep. First, it is claiming to have been "discovered in its original crate about 30 years ago," but there is no proof or documentation of any sort. Also, it is claiming to be all original, but it was given a paint job "shortly after it was discovered." Even with these questionable descriptions, this Willys could reach between $20,000 and $30,000. Head over to Bonhams' site and Hemmings for more information on both WW2-era Jeeps.

100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration

Thu, 29 May 2014

It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.

AEV Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon

Fri, 28 Feb 2014

After their rented 2007 Hummer H3 failed them during the brutal Rallye Aicha des Gazelles in Morocco, Amy Lerner and her sister Tricia Reina were on a quest to find the most capable production off-roader for their next competition - they chose a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Their next mission was to find a company with the competence to configure it to win. After poring over Internet forums and perusing countless magazines for an outfitter who could meet their demanding requirements, they sent their bright orange JK ("Crush" is the official color) to American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for some modifications.
The Michigan-based team at AEV kept the Jeep's 3.6-liter V6 and automatic transmission stock, but replaced the hood with a tall AEV Heat Reduction Hood and added an AEV Snorkel Kit for water crossings (it serves double-duty as its raised height helps to keep the air intake out of the kicked-up dust on the trail). Front and rear off-road bumpers were bolted in place, and AEV skid plates were added to provide additional undercarriage protection. A pair of IPF-900 off-road lights improve visibility, while a 10.2-gallon AEV Fuel Caddy (located behind the exterior spare) added some range. The suspension was upgraded with a 3.5-inch lift kit with Bilstein remote reservoir shocks, and 35-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T tires (LT285/70R17) were mounted at all four corners on AEV's beadlock wheels.
