2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport Utility 4-door 4.0l 4wd, A/c, Fleet Pack, Tow Pack on 2040-cars
Hazleton, Iowa, United States
| This is a great running vehicle! We've owned this 2000 Jeep Cherokee since 2008 and it's helped get us through many snowstorms and blizzards here in Iowa. The 4WD works great, A/C runs great, cruise control works! This wonderful hardy Jeep comes with the tow package and was part of a fleet package that was used for the DNR. There is no carpet on the floors so it's rubber floors for easy cleaning if you like to go mudding!  We've driven the vehicle almost daily until we got our truck. The Jeep is too small for what we need now and needs to go to a good home. Of course, being almost 15 years old, it does needs some TLC. The tires have about 30% tread but looks like they are getting weather checked. I've driven on these tires the way they are and no problems. The Jeep does have a wobble and we are told it's the track bar so I suggest not driving it until this is fixed the wobble does get bad at times. The track bar is easily $25-40 on the internet and told an easy fix but we don't have a place to fix it right now. The exhaust is loud and will need some work or replaced. And the lock button on the driver's side will sometimes not unlock so then other passengers can't open or close the windows themselves it would have to be done by the driver. Looks are deceiving for sure! As you can see in the photos it does have rust, one spot is completely rusted through on the outside of the back passenger door, it's been an outdoor vehicle for years! The grill is cracked but nothing to be concerned about and the passenger side is dented in from the deer that decided to use it as target practice. The front passenger door is harder to open due to the deer but I still get in it fine. The Jeep has 176,404 miles at the time of the photos and we haven't driven it much since then so it may just have a few more miles on it. This vehicle would make a great work car, school car, or just a winter driver for the harsh winters! Hate to see it go but we don't have the room and upgraded to a 4 door truck and I have been told it's too small for a family vehicle now so it must go! $1500 obo takes it!  |

Watch a Cayenne Turbo S, Range Rover SVR, and Cherokee SRT drag race
Thu, Mar 17 2016We live in a weird world where high-performance SUVs could win a 60-mile-per-hour sprint against sports cars from just a few years ago. Here, Top Gear sets up a three-way drag race against the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S, Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR, and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, and the results show just how quickly these high-riding models can cross the quarter mile. The Cherokee SRT is the patriotic choice among the three, but it's down on power in this fight. Meanwhile, the Range Rover's menacing growl sounds the best, and the Cayenne Turbo S has the most horsepower. You'll have to watch the video to see which SUV will win this battle. Related Video:
Jeep teases Trailcat and other Easter Safari concepts
Thu, Mar 3 2016Update: It's confirmed. The Trailcat is a Hellcat-powered Wrangler concept. Stay tuned for more details. Ahead of the 50th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, the company is teasing two of the seven concepts it'll be taking along. There are virtually no solid details about these two Jeeps, save that they exist. But just reading the word scrawled across the Jeep Wrangler Trailcat concept's hood gets the blood pumping. We've been hearing about Hellcat-powered Jeeps for a while now. The Grand Cherokee Trackhawk has been the subject of a steady drum-roll of rumors and reputed confirmations, and even a spy video. But that's the Grand Cherokee. But a Wrangler? The aftermarket has been fooling with it. A company called Hauk will stuff one in a Wrangler for you, and surely other companies will follow. For Jeep itself to stuff one into a concept vehicle seems like a great way to fire up the diehard Wrangler folks. The other concept is called the Jeep Crew Chief, and it looks like an update of the Jeep Chief concept from last year. That incredible, retro design recalled the SJ-generation Jeep Cherokee of the 1970s and '80s. Last year's Chief was based on a Wrangler Unlimited, with the rear doors slightly disguised to emulate its two-doored forbearer. Based on the "Crew" part of the name, we can surmise it might be a crew-cab pickup conversion with the wonderful Chief front end. Expect it to be a hit, as well. LA-bound 2014 Jeep Wrangler special edition gives us the Willys for $25,795
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The Jeep Wrangler might be the reigning king of special editions, but with sales records being broken almost all year, this plan is obviously resonating with buyers. Joining new models like the Dragon Edition and Polar Edition, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler is adding a new Willys Wheeler Edition to pay homage to Jeep's military heritage.
Getting ready for its big debut at the LA Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition is inspired by early Willys CJ (Civilian Jeep) models with exclusive styling and upgraded off-road goodies. Starting with a Wrangler Sport, these upgrades include a Dana 44 rear axle with limited-slip differential and 3.73 gears, along with meaty BF Goodrich KM Mud Terrain tires mounted to the Willys Wheeler's black 17-inch wheels. For more of a classic Jeep look, this model adds a gloss black grille, "Willys" hood stickers and rock rails to protect the side sills. Jeep is also tossing in a D-ring, tow strap and gloves that are all kept in a special carrying bag.
When it goes on sale early next year, the Wrangler Willys Wheeler Edition will start at $25,795 for the two-door model, while the four-door will start at $29,595. There's an official press release posted below, and we'll be sure to have live images of the special-edition Wrangler live from the LA Auto Show floor later this week, so stay close.
