Unfortunately, the time has come to part ways with my XJ because we needed something larger. You will be hard-pressed to find a Cherokee this age and in this condition.  Initially when I was looking for a daily driver, I intended to buy a beater to get me back and forth but ended up finding this well preserved Cherokee.  I instantly fell in love with it and kept it in the same (if not better) condition as I received it; therefore it has never been in any sort of heavy off-roading during my ownership and I'm fairly positive the previous owner didn't either considering the condition of the paint and under body.  It has only left me on the side of the road 2 times with a distributor malfunction and a cracked heater control valve, which were both replaced.  All the other parts that were replaced or upgraded were strictly preventative maintenance done by myself.  Oil changes have been done religiously ~3,000 miles by myself as well.  I also used multiple coats PlastiDip on all the lower trimmings.  The original color of the fenders and bumper ends are gray and 1 or 2 of the gray fender flare's clear coat was starting to fade.  This Jeep did not come with OEM fog lights so I sourced an OEM fog light switch (included but not installed) and mounted non-OEM fog lights but they are not wired up.

Everything written is at full disclosure and all I can think of at the moment.  In my opinion, this Jeep will easily see 400,000 miles.  I will be more than happy to take any videos (cold start, walk around, etc) for potential buyers.

Please do not email me quoting KBB values as I am well aware of them.  Personally, I would like to see this Jeep in the hands of a fellow enthusiast who can appreciate it's unmolested condition.

Note:  The spare tire in the roof basket and the rear cargo mat pictured are NOT included.  The OEM spare tire with matching gray cover has been re-installed and IS included.

Specs:
1995 Jeep Cherokee Country 4.0L V6 4x4
249,XXX miles

-2 owners including myself (maintenance records from previous owner as well as myself will be provided)
-Garage kept by previous owner/semi-garaged by me
-Original paint/interior/engine/etc
-No rips, tears or stains in the interior
-I have replaced almost everything that could fail while in my possession (alternator, distributor, battery, starter, heater control valve, spark plugs, wires, etc.)
-4x4 engages flawlessly
-New Gatorback serpentine belt
-2" Rough Country lift w/ Rough Country shocks and Rough Country steering stabilizer
-New catalytic converter and DynoMax cat back exhaust
-New front pads and rotors
-Upgraded to thicker battery/alternator/starter/ground wires
-Black Rock 942 d-windows (center caps included but not shown) w/ 235/75/15 BFG All-Terrains (9/32 front - 12/32 rear)
-OEM Jeep rubber slush mats (front only)
-Rare OEM rear cargo cover (doesn't retract anymore therefore needs to be rolled back in manually)
-AVS window visors
-2" U-Haul hitch
-Pioneer stereo

The bad:

-Check engine light illuminates on occasion (usually when it's really hot and humid outside) but it's a rarity and isn't consistent
-Rear driver's side window doesn't always roll back up therefore I never used it; possibly needs a new window motor in the near future
-A/C stopped blowing cold. I'm a "windows down" kind of guy so I never looked into what needs to be replaced
-Headliner is fully sagging
-Overhead compass/temp gauge no longer works
-Sometimes shakes ~50 MPH. Still can't find the reason for this after multiple alignments, rotations, wheel balancing and replacing the front sway bar bushings
-Some door dings here and there but no paint chipping associated with them
-Small leak around the rear main seal but there is no oil on the ground in my driveway or in the garage

Jurassic Park made a big impact on these Jeep drivers

Thu, 12 Jun 2014

For a certain cohort of young folks, Jurassic Park is a touchstone film from their childhood. Not only did it play into practically every little boy's love of dinosaurs, the movie included some great action scenes and special effects that still hold up today. In its latest video, The Aficionauto takes a look the Jurassic Park Motor Pool, a California car club with over 40 fans who created replica vehicles from the iconic film.
The club is made up of an interesting cross-section of people. Many of them were Jeep Wrangler fans that already loved off-roading and Jurassic Park, and liked the idea of bringing them together. Like any close-knit club, it ends up being about community and people coming together to share their interests. It's quite a heartwarming video. Also, be sure to stay until the end because The Aficionauto teases a future Jurassic Park-themed vehicle. Scroll down to check out the motor pool.

Jeep reveals annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari concepts

Wed, 20 Mar 2013

Jeep has unveiled its annual spate of concepts before the Easter Jeep Safari. Those start with the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept (below left), complete with the company's EcoDiesel V6 engine. Designers threw in a set of 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires wrapped around 17-inch Rubicon wheels, and a set of custom fender flares help keep all that rubber under wraps.
Meanwhile, the Wrangler Mopar Recon (below right) packs a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 good for 470 horsepower. All that grunt gets to the ground via a five-speed automatic transmission and a set of a Dana 60 axles frond and rear with 4.10 gears. The Recon also makes use of a 4.5-inch prototype long-arm kit and a set of prototype eight-lug bead lock wheels.
The Wrangler Stitch (below left) builds on the momentum of the Wrangler Pork Chop Concept. Engineers once again set out to strike as much weight as possible from the vehicle, and actually managed to trim the curb weight down to 3,000 pounds. That effort has given the machine the same power to weight ratio as the Grand Cherokee SRT8. Plenty of carbon fiber, door deletes and a chrome moly roll cage all help trim those pounds, and a set of DanyTrac Pro Rock 44 axles with 4.88 gears and ARB lockers front and rear let this machine scramble over whatever is in its path.

2014 Jeep Cherokee gets official in a hurry

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Automakers work very, very hard to keep their new vehicles under wraps until they can present them in exactly the way they want it - typically choreographed under the bright lights of an auto show, or perhaps with photos or video in an idyllic location. Spy shooters and leaks, in other words, keep executives and public-relations types up at night.
This is likely to be one of the most polarizing designs to come out in 2014.
Take today, for instance, when the team over at Jalopnik got a big scoop - the first undisguised shots of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, a model whose name wasn't even officially confirmed yet. The clandestine images taken inside of a factory were blurry and didn't exactly show off the crossover's radical new contours in the same sort of flattering light that Jeep probably would've wished for its product reveal. So the Auburn Hills automaker has wisely reacted by spilling at least some of the beans on the new model, giving us these four photos and confirming the Liberty replacement's name, Cherokee.
