EXTERIOR: "JEEP CALLS IT FLAME RED, IT IS A BRIGHT, FIRE ENGINE RED AND IT LOOKS SWEET!!" AS THE PICTURES SHOW, THIS ONE IS EXTREMELY NICE AND CLEAN, AND HAS AMAZING EYE APPEAL! THIS GARAGE KEPT CHEROKEE STILL HOLDS ITS ORIGINAL SHINE, AND LOOKS WAY LESS THAN HALF OF ITS AGE/MILES, THERE ARE NO MAJOR DENTS, DINGS OR BLEMISHES ON THE BODY OF THE JEEP WHATSOEVER, (SEE PICS) UNDERNEATH LOOKS GREAT. THE BODY COLORED SIDE MOLDINGS AND BUMPER END-CAPS LOOK GREAT AS WELL. THE MICHELIN TIRES (SIZE 235/75/16) ARE ALL MATCHING AND HAVE BETTER THAN 80%  TREAD-LIFE REMAINING, THE PREMIUM ALLOY WHEELS LOOK AMAZING, JUST A GOOD CLEAN, HONEST BOX JEEP. BE SURE TO CLICK THE MANY PICS, I AM PROUD OF THIS ONE!-JOSH

INTERIOR: NICE, NEAT AND CLEAN! THIS IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW PEOPLE "SHOULD" CARE FOR THEIR VEHICLES, THERE ARE NO SCUFFS, WEAR, OR STAINS ANYWHERE! THE ONLY IMPERFECTION IS THE SLIGHT CRACK IN THE SIDE PANEL OF THE DRIVER SEAT (AS SHOWN IN PIC) "NOTE: I CAN HAVE THIS FIXED BY A LOCAL TRIM SHOP FOR $60 IF THE WINNING BIDDER WOULD LIKE" THE DASHBOARD, DOORPANELS, CONSOLE, ARE ALL FREE FROM CRACKS OR FADING, THEY LOOK NEW. THE CARPET IS FRESH LOOKING AND HAS HAD MATTS COVERING THEM ALWAYS, THE SEATS ARE AS NEW, THE HEADLINER LOOKS "PERFECT" AND I SEE NO SIGNS OF SMOKING IN THIS JEEP WHATSOEVER! ALL OF THE POWER FEATURES WORK AS THEY SHOULD! THE AIR BLOWS ICE COLD! THE HEAT IS HOT! NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON, OR ANY OTHER WARNING LIGHTS FOR THAT MATTER! JUST A GREAT BOX JEEP!

DRIVELINE & MECHANICAL

THE 4.0 LITER JEEP ENGINE HAS BUILT A REPUTATION FOR BEING BULLET-PROOF AND LASTING SEVERAL HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES! IF YOU HAVENT HAD ONE YOURSELF, DO SOME RESEARCH AND YOU WILL LEARN THAT THESE THINGS ARE PRAISED BY THEIR OWNERS! 108,000 MILES IS "NOTHING FOR THE 4.0 LITER INLINE 6, WHEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED AND CARED FOR LIKE THIS ONE HAS BEEN! SHE RUNS, SOUNDS AND DRIVES JUST LIKE A NEW ONE! THE BRAKES, SUSPENSION, EXHAUST AND DRIVELINE WAS FULLY INSPECTED BY MY MECHANIC, AND SHE PASSED WITH FLYING COLORS. THIS JEEP DOES NOT LEAK ANY FLUIDS, (WHICH IS RARE ON A 4.0 JEEP), THE OIL PRESSURE STAYS ABOVE 40 POUNDS, AND THE TEMP GUAGE STAYS RIGHT AT 210 DEGREES WHEN WARMED UP,  IT IS JUST AWESOME! THIS JEEP NEEDS NOTHING AT ALL! FLY IN AND DRIVE THIS ONE BACK HOME, TO WHEREVER THAT MAY BE WITH COMPLETE CONFIDENCE!

HISTORY: THIS IS A 1-OWNER, ADULT DRIVEN, GARAGE KEPT JEEP THAT WAS LOVED SINCE DAY #1, SHE HAS NEVER BEEN OFF-ROADED OR ABUSED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM. 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk First Drive | Crazy. Good.

Wed, Aug 30 2017

TAMWORTH, New Hampshire – We're tempted to tell you that the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is ridiculous. It's borderline frightening to think that we now live in a world where anybody with the money and the gumption can stroll into the nearest Jeep dealership and place an order for a 707-horsepower Hemi-powered Grand Cherokee. Let's put this slice of history into perspective. The original Jeep, the one used by the military, boasted 60 horsepower from the Go Devil four-cylinder engine under the hood. The most powerful version of the muscle car-era 426-cubic-inch Hemi was factory-rated at 425 hp. And even if that legendary powerplant was underrated from the factory, the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk still obliterates it by a couple hundred horses. In an SUV. Seven-hundred-horsepower sport utility vehicle doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, does it? And conventional wisdom says it shouldn't. But we're here to tell you otherwise. After driving the Trackhawk in and around the streets of Portland, Maine, and taking it to Club Motorsports in New Hampshire, we're convinced that Jeep and SRT engineers have managed to defy physics and reason. The Trackhawk isn't just fast, it's also manageable. Subdued, even – at least when you want it to be. Put the hammer down, summon the nearly demonic power of supercharged combustion, and all hell breaks loose. But the tires don't. With launch control engaged and with the programmable engine speed properly chosen, the all-wheel-drive Trackhawk rockets to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds, over and over and over again. No drama, no wheelspin, just g-force, pressing you and four close friends into the backs of your seats. It's addictive, and the only penalty is single-digit fuel mileage. But we'll wager a guess that anyone shopping for a Trackhawk isn't much concerned about its drinking problem. The only proper way to experience the Trackhawk's acceleration is from inside. But, to give you an idea of its speed and power, check out the videos below. Stick around for a walkaround both inside and out, and for a look under the hood. Jeep had to make a few small changes to the well-known 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 engine to shoehorn it under the hood of a Grand Cherokee. The oil pan is reshaped and baffled, the intercooler is modified, and the exhaust manifolds are new. The result is a reduction in torque from 650 pound-feet in Dodge Hellcat models to 645 in the Jeep, but we wouldn't worry about that.

Chrysler reports $166M net income for Q1, down $307M vs. 2012

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Preliminary first-quarter results from 2013 have been announced by Chrysler, and the company is reporting a net income of $166 million on revenue of $15.4 billion. Compared to this period last year, net income is down $307 million and revenue has dropped $1 billion.
Chrysler says that its quarter was negatively affected by the costs associated with launching its 2013 Ram Heavy Duty, 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and preparation for the return of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee pictured above. The launches should provide a strong second half of 2013, says the automaker. "We remain on track to achieve our business targets, even as the first-quarter results were affected by an aggressive product launch schedule," said Chrysler Group LLC Chairman and CEO Sergio Marchionne.
On a positive note, the automaker says worldwide vehicle sales are up 8 percent from one year ago, a number pushed by a 12 percent bump in U.S. retail sales. In addition, domestic market share has risen slightly, up to 11.4 percent from 11.2 percent last year. Read more in the official statement below.

Ford will put solid axles under the Bronco as the off-roading gods intended

Wed, Jan 25 2017

We've been wondering what sort of creature the Bronco would be since we first heard of the thing last October, when a union chairman spilled the beans on the SUV and the Ranger pickup. Ford confirmed a 2020 arrival date for the Bronco at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, but at that point pretty much all we were sure of was that the Ranger and Bronco would be returning. The open question would be how hungry Ford was to spoil the Jeep Wrangler's solo party as a compact(ish) off-roader with dual solid axles, since the easiest thing would be to carry over the suspension design of the presumably related international Ford Ranger and its Everest SUV version: independent front suspension with either a leaf- (Ranger) or coil-suspended (Everest) solid rear axle. Enter Dana, the long-time supplier of Jeep stick axles, to confirm that the 2020 Bronco is getting a pair of them. That means solid axles front and rear, just like under a Wrangler. So reports Automotive News, citing an investor presentation from Dana. All signs so far, such as the report that the Bronco would be engineered by the same team in Australia that created the Ranger pickup, indicated that the Bronco would share a platform with the Ranger and thus be body-on-frame. The solid axle confirmation essentially confirms that theory. Some off-road-capable vehicles have paired solid axles with unibody frames, like the Jeep Cherokee (XJ generation) and Grand Cherokee (ZJ and WJ generations), but they are outliers. Generally, if you've got solid axles at both ends, they're going in a vehicle with a ladder frame. It also lends credence to the notion that our Bronco won't simply be an imported Everest, which might be too understated to stand out from lesser crossovers anyways. This is good news if you have Blue Oval in your blood and pine for a modern SUV that'll show up the Jeep guys on the trail. Less directly, it could mean a wholesale assault on the formula that makes Jeeps successful in the first place: the massive aftermarket of off-roading equipment and dress-up bits that appeal to Jeep buyers almost as much as a Trail Rated badge. At a minimum, Bronco enthusiasts can breathe easy that the reborn SUV won't merely be a light-duty crossover with styling "inspired" by true off-roaders. There's still a lot left to learn about the Bronco. Keep up to date with our running summary of everything we know about the returning off-roader.
