Jeep Cj7 Renegade W/ Chevy 350 Conversion No Reserve 1983 on 2040-cars
Carrollton, Texas, United States
I have for auction AT NO RESERVE is this nice 1983 Jeep CJ7 with the Chevy 350 4bbl conversion. The list of amenities it has is quite long. If you would rather just look at the pics skip this section (tilt steering column, clock, tach, locking glove box door, side entry steps, padded steering wheel, 2 dash speakers, uncracked dash pad, custom retractable indash drawer for coins and small items, trailer hitch, padded roll bar, spare tire carrier, power steering, power brakes, 33" tires, Renegade decal kit, hard top, untorn factory seats, Custom rear seat with storage area, chrome exhaust tips, 20 gallon fuel tank, bikini top for summer. The floor boards are intact. Frame is in fine shape. Drive train is a Chevy 350 with a 4 bbl Holley 650cfm carb paired up with a Tremac T176 four speed transmission and new clutch parts. It has some chrome accessories as well. Dual exhaust. Gears are 3:31. I purchased it in '04 and I have around $16k invested in it. It's not a show Jeep and it does need some attention (mostly from sitting around in storage). I have mixed feelings about selling it but I just can't justify insuring and registering 3 vehicles for a 1 driver household. It was last registered in 2007 and was put in storage after that. It ran fine back then but now it needs the fuel system cleaned out and maybe the carb rebuilt b/c it runs a bit rough and the fuel filter keeps clogging up. The gas tank is poly so the problem is not rust but just dirt I guess. The rear diff is starting to leak. Brakes were replaced in 2004 and are perfectly fine. The front fender flares are no good as seen in the pic however I do have a new drivers side flare I will include. Tires still have the protective blue coating on the lettering. The top does have a small chip on the lip that sits on the body but that's all it is is a chip. The Jeep needs wiper blades. There is no radio or console in the vehicle. This would be a great opportunity for someone who is mechanical and has the time to attend to its imperfections, enjoy it for a while and then sell it off for a profit down the road. Ask questions before bidding. If I have failed to mention something it was not intentional. Please don't bid unless you're serious about owning the vehicle. I will help out where I can with shipping however buyer is financially responsible for shipping. A nonrefundable security deposit of $1000 is due within 24 hrs of auctions end. Payment in full is due within 14 days of auctions end but if you need more time to arrange for pickup something can be worked out. Local pickup is an option. I make no guarantees on this vehicle and it is being sold as is. I am going to try to make a video of it running and put it on youtube. AGAIN THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION

2014 Easter Jeep Safari kicks off with six concepts
Thu, 10 Apr 2014The 2014 Easter Jeep Safari is set to begin this weekend in Moab, Utah, and while it's sure to be a blast for Jeep enthusiasts from all corners of the world, we're looking forward to the wild, off-road ready concepts that Jeep will be bringing to the red rocks. As you can see in our handy headline, there are six such vehicles in total, each of which sports a variety of tweaks and custom bits.
Unlike in years past, where Jeep graced us with some outrageous concepts like the Mighty FC or J-12, this year's vehicles are a bit more restrained and a bit more buildable by enthusiasts. That's not by accident, officials tell us. They wanted to put this year's focus on attainable vehicles and accessories from Mopar and Jeep Performance Parts that existing owners can use to augment their own vehicles. So let's get to it.
We'll start with the Wranglers first. There are three concepts of the jeepiest of Jeep coming to Moab - the Level Red, Maximum Performance and Mojo. The Level Red and the Mojo (seen above) are similar from a suspension and engine standpoint. Both boast a two-inch Jeep Performance Parts lift kit, which officials tell us is coming to market in the next few months. There are a pair of Dana 44 crate axles on both the front and rear, while a Jeep Performance Parts Rock-Trac transfer case has been fitted. The 3.6-liter V6 engines on both Jeeps can breathe a bit easier thanks to a new cold-air intake and exhaust system.
NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all
Mon, 20 Jan 2014After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.
Chrysler adding 200 jobs at Ohio Jeep Wrangler plant
Fri, 15 Mar 2013Chrysler is betting that the Jeep Wrangler will continue its strong sales surge as it continues to push the legendary brand out across the globe. The Auburn Hills automaker is reportedly adding 200 workers at the Toledo, Ohio plant that builds the Wrangler. What's more, those new hires will be at their posts quickly - they'll be on the job by April 1. Of those 200 workers, 130 employees will be there to relieve those who need breaks.
Why do they need so many relief workers? The Toledo Jeep Complex is currently working at a torrid pace with two ten-hour shifts. A third shift has been ruled out for the moment because of a production botttleneck - the plant's paint shop is already maxed out. According to Reuters, Wrangler production in 2012 cleared 200,000 units, and US sales were up by 16 percent.
Another part of the Toledo plant is presently down as Chrysler retools the line to build Jeep's divisively styled Liberty replacement, the Cherokee (seen in our gallery below). Production for the new model is scheduled to begin toward the end of May.
