For Sale: My 1983 Jeep CJ 7

Where do I start?

Over the last year and a half I meticulously restored this Jeep (on frame).
My goal was to end up with a VERY dependable, COOL, fun 3rd car for my family. Here it is, finished, sans the 2 inch lift I had planned. Just after I finished it I got some bad news from my doctor. It is forcing the sale of all my toys (fishing boat and Hobie-Cat are already gone). My Jeep and motorcycle are next.

I put just over $4,000.00 in parts and materials into this Jeep.
EVERYTHING WORKS, even the things that just don’t work on most other CJs…. and there is NO need for any work from you, to totally enjoy this jeep for years to come. If it needed it, it got it, and it even got some things it didn’t really need; I replaced them just for piece-of-mind, while my children drove it. You can notice that all of the safety and dependability items have been addressed. I did this Jeep for my family to enjoy, not just to “flip” for a quick buck, and it shows in the meticulous details.

THIS JEEP TURNS HEADS and starts conversations where ever it goes. People pull up next to you on the road to take pictures of it, get ready to smile; a BUNCH!
I have priced this Jeep fairly and to sell quickly. There are Jeeps out there that are priced cheaper than this one, but that is exactly what you will get… CHEAPER.

THIS IS A “TURN KEY” JEEP, set up to give you years of enjoyment, without all the work that usually accompanies an older Jeep…

This Jeep is licensed as a “Vintage Vehicle” it will NOT require smog and safety checks every year.

Here is a list of just some of the features:
These are the NEW items…(I may have missed a few)

- New Best Top “Super-Top” w/ tinted windows and Full Soft Doors (Color: SPICE)
- Mesh Bikini top w/ American Flag theme
- Mesh “Wind-Jammer” w/ American Flag theme
- New Paint w/ Military Scheme (Decals are on top of paint, so you can remove them if you want, but they are what turn the heads out there…) BTW: The Jeep was stripped to bare metal and primered with top of the line catalyzed primer and painted with Limco Supreme top-coat products…the stuff the pros use.
- 1/2 Hard doors
- Custom 1/8 plate steel rocker guards
- Good tires
- Tilt steering column w/ new key cylinder
- ALL oils are AMSOIL products (the best of the best!), axles, transfer case, gear-box, and engine
- Working Heater! (all vents and systems work, very rare on an old CJ ,…LOL)
- Front brakes
- Brake master cylinder
- Emergency brake lever
- All Ball joints (4)
- Front axle U-joints
- Shocks (4)
- Steering damper
- Upper and lower radiator hoses
- Heater hoses
- All rubber fuel hoses
- Fuel pump
- Fuel pressure regulator (a must on a CJ)
- Weber Racing carburetor
- Lights and lenses
- HEI Ignition Distributor
- Spark plugs
- Spark plug wires (8mm insulated)
- Alternator
- Belts
- Water pump
- Thermostat (190)
- Rear main oil seal, pan gasket, valve cover gasket, timing chain gasket (NO drips from this CJ; another rarity indeed!)
-
- Rugged Ridge cover, to keep her shiny and dust free in between adventures
- NOT NEW, but in wonderful condition, are the Corbeau Front Racing Seats (with racing belts and stock belts, and stock rear seat w/ belts. No rips or tears.
…and so, so much more. Come and see his fantastic Jeep.

Not to be coy, but if you see this Jeep in person, you WILL buy it!

Note:
This Jeep is in stock form. If you are looking for a fun, all-season, Jeep for around town and fun trail rides... and enjoy “turning heads”; This is your baby!

Autoblog fan favorite car ads from Super Bowl XLIX

Mon, Feb 2 2015

Super Bowl XLIX is in the books, and the New England Patriots emerged victorious. Of course, if you're like us, the big game wasn't so much about the battle between the east coast and west, so much as a fight between the world's automotive advertisers. We collected and collated all of last night's new ads and put them together for you to vote on. And yes, we're limiting this year's contest to last night's new features. That's why you aren't seeing Dodge's epic Wisdom among our collection of commercials, and it's a similar story with Chevrolet's Truck Guy Focus Group series, which highlights the new Colorado. You can still vote for your favorites. We won't be closing the voting on our Super Bowl page, so while the winners and losers are correct as of this writing, it's entirely possible that there could be some changes in the rankings as time goes on. So, without any further ado, here are the winning ads based on your voting. Nissan: With Dad Fiat: Ready For Action Jeep: Beautiful Lands BMW: Newfangled Idea Mercedes-Benz: Fable NASCAR: America Start Your Engines As for those ads that failed to impact you, loyal readers, Toyota was the absolute, undisputed loser. The Japanese brand ran four ads in total – two for Toyota and two for Lexus – and all of them have negative tallies as of this writing. Lexus' Make Some Noise and Lets Play and Toyota's One Bold Choice and My Bold Dad both had very weak showings among the commercials that aired, although they weren't alone. Neither Mazda nor Kia scored particularly well, despite featuring celebrity magic act Penn and Teller and former James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, respectively. Chevrolet was the winner of the losers, as of our writing, recording the fewest downvotes for its audience-punking The Big Game ad. If you want to take a second look at the losing ads, you can head back to our Super Bowl page for the complete collection. But for now, head into Comments and let us know what you think of the results.

The Jeep Wrangler is finally getting modern headlights for 2017

Thu, Sep 1 2016

Some of Jeep's headlights leave a lot to be desired – namely light output. In particular, the halogen lamps on the Wrangler and Cherokee have been called out by the IIHS as among the worst on the market. Things should improve for 2017, as Jeep is addressing the sorry illumination by adding LED or HID headlight options for the Wrangler, Cherokee, and Renegade. Thank heavens (or, you know, the IIHS for upping its lighting requirements). In the Wrangler's case, the decision to develop an LED for a single model year of the JK before its replacement arrives – or two if you count the extended run of the current model alongside the new one – might seem strange, but we aren't complaining. The current headlights are one retro cue that sorely needed eradicating, plus this almost guarantees LEDs for the next-gen model. Any 2017 Wrangler can be equipped with the new LED headlights and fog lights – the LED lighting group will be optional on the Sport and Sport S, and standard on Sahara and Rubicon. The Cherokee is a slightly different story – HID headlights are currently optional on that model's Limited and High Altitude trims and standard on the range-topping Overland. Next year, the brighter, more focused lamps will be standard on everything but the base Sport model, where they'll be optional. For the wee Renegade, meanwhile, HIDs are a "late availability" option as part of the safety and security group on Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk trim levels. If you want a 2017 Renegade Sport with the better lights, though, you're out of luck. Jeep hasn't announced pricing for its 2017 offerings, so we don't know what sort of premium the LED and HID headlamps will add. We just know that whatever the price, it will be worth it. And you can bet each unit will have some sort of Easter egg Jeep design detail on it. Jeep teases its Easter Safari Wrangler concepts

Wed, Mar 29 2017

Every year ahead of the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Jeep shows off some wild concepts based on Jeep products. They usually don't make it to production, but they do get the fans very, very excited. If you'll remember last year, the company showed off a Hellcat-powered Wrangler concept called the Trailcat and some retro-inspired pickups, like a neo-Forward Control and one resembling the classic military Kaiser M715. This year, we're getting a sneak preview of two of the concepts Jeep will be showing off. Details are sketchy and the images aren't very revealing, but such is the way of teasers. Let's start with the Switchback, which appears to be a Wrangler Unlimited that features metal doors with large cutaways in them. They look like a cross between factory metal half-doors and the tubular trail doors that are a popular aftermarket add-on. It also appears to feature a bumper-mounted winch and a special top with a roof basket. The second concept is the Quicksand, which appears to be a two-door Wrangler with cut-down fenders, a roll cage, and no B-pillar aft of the door. Could it be a dune buggy of sorts, a Jeep analogue to the Baja Bugs or Meyers Manxs so popular in the 1960s and 1970s? It's hard to tell, but all will be revealed soon. Related Video:
