1986 Jaguar Xj6 Base Sedan 4-door 4.2l on 2040-cars
Bisbee, Arizona, United States
This vehicle has been completly restored mechanically. It took a period of 3 years plus as certain parts were not immediately available. I bought this classic from a family that had to move to a new job right away. As they had started the process of restoration they could not take the vehicle with them. Everything mechanically has been replaced and the list of parts comes with it. The gas tanks, fuel system, brakes, air conditioner have all been replaced for example. The exterior is unblemished with new paint. New tires. All of this work was done at a auto repair business in town. The suspension is anti-dive with power rack and pinion steering along with power disc brakes. 4-speed auto trans. with overdrive. Handling is suburb for a 4 door sedan. There is a fine balance of refinement, luxury and performance. Enthusiasts tend to gravitate towards this model simply because it is easier to work on and much more reliable. All reference guides are complete and all manuals are present. There are two boxes of parts in the trunk.

Jaguar Land Rover says key models in short supply, some have six-month wait lists
Fri, 08 Aug 2014Care for a bit more proof that the Jaguar Land Rover portfolio of vehicles is the best it's ever been? Well, the Indian-owned pair of brands saw a record year in 2013, while 2014 has seen a 14-percent increase in sales. The crazy thing is, though, is that figure could be even higher, provided the company had the production capacity.
JLR is running a six-month waiting list on two of its most popular models, the Range Rover Sport (above) and Range Rover. According to Mark White, the company's chief technologist for body engineering, the blame can be placed on the paint shop at the company's Solihull factory, in the UK.
"We will probably max out the paint shop before we max out the body shop. Putting the second body shop in has given us the flexibility to ebb and flow the different models that go through there and meet the capacity demands we've got," White told Automotive News. "However, you always hit a bottleneck somewhere. And the paint shop is probably going to be the next biggest obstacle."
Jaguar takes bite out of Mercedes' Magic Body Control chicken ad
Tue, 17 Dec 2013We were quite impressed by Mercedes-Benz when it aired its Magic Body Control commercial, starring a group suitably funky chickens demonstrating their ability to jive to Diana Ross and the Supremes. Now, Jaguar has taken the opportunity to poke some fun at its German rival, releasing its own take on the Magic Body Control spot, and um, there's a big cat involved.
You'll really want to take a look at this video, which is just another sign that in terms of clever ads, Jaguar is doing quite well. We aren't sure if "Jaguar vs. Chicken" will make it onto TV any time soon, but it's still fun to see the British brand take the mickey out of Mercedes - it's rare to see automakers go after each other so bluntly in their marketing efforts. Scroll down to watch the video (we've also included a bonus video, Jag's recent "Cat In A Box" spot).
Jaguar F-Type squares off against Porsche 911, Aston V8 Vantage with Chris Harris
Fri, 21 Jun 2013Chris Harris is back on the job, taking on really really difficult car questions like: Which enormously sexy and good-to-drive, high-performance convertible is the top of the heap? As one of the hottest cars in the luxury space right now, the Jaguar F-Type S is, of course, in on the action. Competition comes in the form of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster and the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. Sun-loving CEOs who despise test-driving need look no further.
Scroll on below for a fully featured (with a running time of more than 20 minutes) comparison video. Harris does his best to entertain - in a typically nitpicky and made-up-British-words fashion - and the moving pictures are lovely to look at. Kick back, pour a pint and get your weekend started off right.
