Barn Find Series Iii E Type Coupe. As Is, Or We Will Finish To Your Specs. on 2040-cars
Stockbridge, Georgia, United States
The car is solid with no rust. Yes, that's right NO rust! It was stored in a covered shop since the 1980's. We gently got it running and made a list of issues. Many of those are being addressed right now, including the cooling system, where we have installed a new "Cool cat" radiator and restored the cooling fans, header tank and water pump. The brakes, mufflers and other minor things are next on the list. We have not yet driven it to evaluate the trans and rear end, so consider those to be unknowns when you make make an offer. What we do know is the interior is remarkably nice with the exception of typical soft headrests and a passenger door that wont open from the outside. The car was painted silver long before it was stored and the paint remains presentable but needs to be redone. The car was originally dark red. There is some minor rust on the wire wheels but it will clean up with some polish, a shady spot and a case of beer. It is a very neat find and could be a driver for very little money or it could be restored to its original specs and be worth a ton. The selling price will include any work completed at the shop at the time of sale. Work is ongoing but there is still a little more to do. The purchase is as-is, where-is, however once the car is purchased, if the buyer chooses, we can complete the car to any level he chooses form simply a roadworthy driver to a full restoration. In GA old cars are no longer issued titles, so this will be sold on a GA Bill of sale only. These are accepted an all states and you should be able to get a title in your home state. Please check with your DMV for more details. |

Highlights from the Goodwood Festival of Speed, including the McLaren P1 and a Ford Transit running the hill
Mon, 15 Jul 2013The sole purpose of this post is as a time-waster, and since you shouldn't have to work to waste time, we've done it for you. In the numerous videos below you'll find cars that have lately been in the news tramping all over the grounds of Lord March's estate in Goodwood, England.
There's the McLaren P1 heading up the hill, the Jaguar Project 7, then a casually-driven Porsche 917 followed by an even-more-casually-driven Porsche 956, topped off by a Porsche 936 that is anything but casually driven. The next round is the flame-spitting Peugeot 405 T16 Pikes Peak from Climb Dance, a camera mounted on the Peugeot RCZ R after it showing you what the whole, uninterrupted run up the hill looks like. For a real head-turner, we couldn't embed it but there's Andy Reid blasting up the hill in a Ford Transit Supervan with a Cosworth 3000 V6 engine.
The modern racing contingent has Allan McNish doing the hill in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro he used to win Le Mans and Lewis Hamilton making lots of tire smoke in the Mercedes-AMG Petronas MGP-W02. For comparison, that's followed by Nick Heidfeld's record-setting run up the hill in 1999 in the McLaren MP4/14 . The classic racing contingent is headlined by 71-year-old Giacomo Agostini on an MV Agusta.
Are you the soon-to-be-revealed Jaguar CUV concept?
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Following the teaser of the Jaguar CX-17 Concept released last weekend, the first official image of the Jaguar crossover concept appears to have hit the Internet ahead of its introduction at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Assuming this is the real deal, the tall, upright front end removes any doubt that this is anything but a preview for the upcoming Jaguar crossover, which will likely be called either the XQ or the Q-Series. Reports suggest that Jag's first-ever CUV is likely to go into production in 2016, and it will bring with it the option for a Jaguar-developed four-cylinder engine replacing the current mills still sourced from former parent Ford.
Jaguar gets to work on next-gen XF sedan
Mon, 22 Sep 2014With the XE now out in the open, Jaguar can begin to focus on what comes next. That means a new crossover, but also replacements for some of its aging current models - chief among them, the XF. Introduced back in 2007, Jaguar's mid-range sedan is growing a little long in the tooth. But from these latest spy shots, we can see that the British automaker is hard at work developing its successor.
Expected to be based on the same iQ A1 platform that underpins the new XE, the new XF promises to be lighter in weight and more advanced than the model it replaces. Look for most of the same engines to carry over, including gasoline and diesel options ranging from four cylinders to eight, with and without forced induction, with a potential plug-in hybrid version to follow. The current model is available in rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and in sedan and wagon body styles, and we'd expect its replacement to follow suit.
The low-profile wheels and dual exhaust pipes on one of the prototypes spotted suggests it would lie somewhere near the top of the range, while the second prototype packs taller sidewalls and a trailer hitch. It's hard to discern much esle from the spy shots, heavily camouflaged as they are, but as with the technology underneath, we'd expect styling to takes some cues from the smaller XE as well. Jaguar will, of course, need to tread the line between distinctive and understated if it's going to fend off the Maserati Ghibli and take a bigger slice of the pie away from the likes of the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the Lexus GS and Infiniti Q70, the Cadillac CTS and the upcoming new Volvo S90.
