You are looking at my friends 89 Isuzu pickup. I am posting this for him and I will be responding to questions, so ask, read the whole listing, and look at all the pictures and consider the truck carefully BEFORE you place a bid.

That being said, this is a good truck and should be a nice ride for the winning bidder. It has over 73,000 miles on the odometer, I don't know if it has been turned over, but to me, it looks clean enough to be the exact mileage. The truck has the larger 4cyl engine, and it is the fuel injection option , so it is not only good on gas for a truck, it is reliable. it starts right up as it should, and we drove it back to Staten Island from the owners vacation house in up state NY (3 hrs) , without a problem. The 4 wheel drive works as it should and the transmission shifts smooth with good clutch engagement. it also came with 4 wheel disc brakes witch don't seem to be worn and don't squeak, so its easy to maintain, The tires and rims look real nice and the tread will last quite awhile as they have decent tread left in them. Even the older alarm system works. It has a nice tube style push bumper in front with off road lights that also work well. The only option that it doesn't have that I whish it did was A/C. but then again if it did , it would not be for sale. The owner has health problems and cannot drive stick shift any more, and for someone that just needs a winter 4wheel drive truck so they don't have to use there car in the snow, this would be perfect. It has been well maintained through the years and I thinkit may have had some scratches re painted in the past on the sides of the bed, because the paint is really shiny and looks almost too good to be original, but we looked under the wheel openings and could find no evidence of dent repair or bondo. Over all the trucks body looks really nice and clean for an older truck . The radio is not original but works perfectly and the heat works great. Over all this is a real nice older truck with some great options and should be a lot of fun.

now on to the legal stuff..

There is no guarantee or warrantee expressed or implied, so please ask a lot of questions and consider, that it is and older vehicle, so it may require repairs as it is driven more. also we will not ship this truck , we will work with your shipper as far as loading it up on a trailer or making sure we agree on a time to be home when you arrive to take it, but It is YOUR responsibility to pick it up, It should drive home no problem, but SHOULD drive home  is no guarantee, so I would make arrangements on the safe side till you can make sure. It is also being advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction before it is over, if I get a better offer locally. You can make arrangements to come look at it in Staten island NY before you bid and I recommend you do that, I would never buy a car or truck till I saw it with my own eyes , totally up to you, but if you win the bid , and come to get the truck, don't expect to change the deal afterwards. you will be responsible for the purchase.

If you need special arrangements made as far as pick up date, or payment times, or something else contact me BEFORE the auctions end. I will not negotiate after the auctions over.

The truck needs to be picked up 2 weeks after auctions end, unless we make special arrangements,  or it will be relisted , YOUR DEPOSIT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED

A NON NEGOTIBLE 400 DOLLAR DEPOSIT IS DUE 3 DAYS AFTER THE AUCTIONS END. I recommend paypall for this, the rest can be paid on arrival of transfer of ownership, I accept cash ,money order, paypall. I will accept a check BUT I WILL NOT RELEASE THE TRUCK TILL ALL THE CHECKS, OR MONEY ORDER PAYMENTS ARE CLEAR IN MY BANK ! PERIOD ! you simply will not get the title till the truck is fully paid

Thank you and god bless

Junkyard Gem: 1984 Isuzu P'up

Sat, Aug 7 2021

General Motors, wishing to sell a small pickup to compete with the likes of the Toyota Hilux and Nissan 521, began importing the Isuzu Faster for the 1972 model year, equipping it with Chevrolet LUV badges. Ford brought over the Mazda Proceed as the Courier the same year, while Chrysler turned to Mitsubishi to provide the Plymouth Arrow Truck and Dodge Ram 50 a bit later on. Once GM introduced the all-Detroit S-10 for the 1982 model year, however, the LUV's reign ended. Fortunately for fans of the Light Utility Vehicle, Isuzu began selling these trucks under its own badging here in 1981. This truck was called the P'up, and sales continued through 1987. Here's one of those P'ups, found in a Denver boneyard last month. This truck has the long-bed option. The purple paint and black stripes appear to be non-factory items, as the engine-compartment paint is silver. Under the hood, we see the 1.9-liter G200Z engine, as used in the Impulse and early Trooper. It had 86 horsepower on tap, which made this truck quite a bit zippier than the version with the 58-horse diesel (several decades back, I had a job that involved driving a diesel P'up and I can state from experience that the oil-burning P'up was an agonizingly slow machine). Still, this truck must have been on the poky side, what with its (optional) three-speed automatic transmission. What's this— air conditioning in a compact pickup? That was still something of a blasphemous idea in the middle 1980s. Someone installed a functional cold-air induction system involving an aftermarket air cleaner protruding from the hood, above the carburetor. Let's hope there was a filter element in here, because it doesn't do a carb any good to suck in bugs and dirt (not to mention filling with water while parked outdoors during rainstorms). This is by far the most common sticker found on vehicles in Denver-area wrecking yards. The Incredibles Empire appears to get mightier with each passing day, though I see plenty of stickers from other cannabis-related businesses in these yards. Fox Street Wellness is still around, though under a new name. What better vehicle for picking up a bag of Girl Scout Cookies weed ("best reserved for experienced cannabis consumers") than a purple P'up with hood-mounted air cleaner? Today, the Purple P'up's final parking spot is just a few miles to the north of this dispensary.

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Acura SLX

Tue, Nov 27 2018

When I'm prowling wrecking yards, I'm always on the lookout for obscure examples of badge engineering, and the weirder they are, the better I like them. While I haven't managed to spot a junked Suzuki Equator yet, I have photographed such rarities as the Saab 9-2x and Isuzu Ascender. A few weeks ago, I encountered one of the real oddities of the Honda-Isuzu dealmaking of the 1990s: a 1997 Acura SLX, a luxed-up Isuzu Trooper that sold very poorly and is now mostly forgotten today. Plenty of Acura SUVs designed and built entirely by Honda roll out of American showrooms today, but the 1990s SUV boom caught Honda by surprise. The first MDX wasn't ready until the 2001 model year, so Honda made a deal to take Isuzu Troopers, apply wood and leather inside and Acura badges outside, and cash in on North Americans' increasing disdain for minivans, sedans, and station wagons. Americans were very familiar with the Trooper, which was sold here from the middle 1980s until the 2002 model year, when the Chevrolet Trailblazer-based Ascender went on sale. The Isuzu name stuck around on these shores until 2008. The SLX was a decent enough truck, but there was no disguising its proletariat Trooper roots from status-conscious SUV shoppers who wanted to look more oligarchic while conquering a half-inch of snow in the mall parking lot. It didn't help that the 1997 Trooper L listed at $27,800 and the SLX Premium cost $38,300 (that's about $44,200 and $60,900 in inflation-adjusted 2018 bucks). SLX sales started off weak and plummeted after that. After 1999, the SLX was done. I spent years trying to find one in California and Colorado wrecking yards, but the few that were sold seemed to be sturdy enough to stay alive for a couple of decades. Finally, this high-mile '97 appeared in a Denver yard. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.

GM SUV window switch recall urges owners to park vehicles outside

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

It's not unusual for there to be a lag between an automaker announcing a recall and the official documentation showing up on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website. So it's no surprise that a recent GM campaign took about a month to appear in its official capacity. However, there appears to be some big differences between the two reports with potential safety implications.
In late June, GM announced that it needed to recall 181,984 examples of the Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Rainier, GMC Envoy, Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7x from the 2005-2007 model years, plus the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT and 2006 GMC Envoy XL. The new documents paint a slightly different picture with 184,611 needing repaired and different model years listed.
The reason for the fix is still the same, though. It's possible for fluid to contact the master power window switch module in the driver's door, which can corrode the part. Eventually this could cause a short circuit, leaving the buttons inoperable and potentially leading to a fire. But the new NHTSA documents add an important note: "A fire could occur even while the vehicle is not in use. As a precaution, owners are advised to park outside until the remedy has been made."
