This H2 is a steal with all the aftermarket equipment!! First, about the H2. Runs like a dream! When I purchased it, it had the usual issues with the 6.0l...broken exhaust manifold studs which results in leaking exhaust manifold gaskets when cold. All studs have been replaced along with new gaskets on both sides, engine is quiet and smooth with tons of power. ABS brake control module was replaced. A new air conditioning compressor installed with pulley and belt, AC is ice cold! Rear air suspension was gone through, tested, and calibrated so vehicle sits perfectly level...suspension raise switch works flawlessly. All burnt out bulbs in dash board, steering wheel switches, climate controls have all been replaced. New Rancho shocks all around last month, rides very smooth.
Now for the goodies!! Onstar has been completely removed. A new Kenwood DNX-7190 with Garmin Navigation, DVD, Bluetooth, USB, SiriusXM was integrated into the dash, hooked to steering wheel controls! Back up camera installed, displays when in reverse or continuously on one or both of the overhead screens in front of sunroof! Bluetooth utilizes the factory microphone for a clean install, can also stream music from your phone wirelessly to the system without the need for aux cable! Speakers include Rockford Fosgate Power 6.5" components in front, Kenwood Excelon 5.25" coaxials in rear, and 4 JL Audio 15W0V3 subwoofers in a custom high spl ported enclosure! Amplification is all Kenwood! 2 KAC-9105d, 1000 watt amps run the 4 subs, 2 KAC-8405 run the fronts/rears (was planning on custom door panels, never got to it.), each bridged to 2-channel. Audio Control Epicenter makes everything slam!! And an Audio Control 6XS boosts signal voltage to keep everything clean, also has a remote sub level control mounted next to the Epicenter knob, to keep control over the insanity! This H2 is completely protected with the top of the line Python alarm/remote start system! When you're cruising the highway, protection comes from the top of the line K40 RL360 front and rear radar detector with front laser diffusion! One cool little extra is the CCFL angel eyes added to both headlights and DRL's, this little feature always turns heads, check the pic.
The negative: There are a couple of dents by each of the rear tail lights, a couple of scratches that I have tried to show in the pictures. The most notable of which is the word "oink" that was scratched into the driver front door (probably by some sandal wearing, tie-dye t-shirt, bark eating, haircut needing hippie). Tried to get a good pic of it as well. Window tint is 4%, according to the Iowa State Patrol, which is worth about $127.50 each time they let you know that. Looks to cool to take off though.
Please ask any questions, or come see and hear it!!

Architects design home made entirely of Hummers
Tue, 26 Jul 2011Architects Craig Hodges and HsinMing Fung joined forces in 1984 to create their agency HplusF. Since then, the pair have gone on to apply their stylistic skill to the UCLA library, Hollywood Bowl, Egyptian Theater and a number of other works of architectural art. HplusF also tackles unique installations and showpieces, one of which involves the now-departed Hummer brand.
What could easily be a luxury apartment in the video game Fallout 3 is in fact HplusF's HummerHaus. Eight identical Hummer body shells wrap around a a steel skeleton to form a living space like no other.
Of course, this is merely a concept, but it's a rather interesting one. Could old vehicles be rehabbed into affordable living spaces? Could the Hummer body have a new lease on life after it was cut from the General Motors family?
Body shop manager stole over $500,000 worth of government trucks and parts
Fri, Jan 27 2017The US Department of Justice announced yesterday that the manager of a collision and restoration business in Virginia admitted he helped misappropriate and sell vehicles and parts from the State Department. Specifically, he sold 12 Chevrolet Suburbans, a Hummer, and $7,500 worth of tires and wheels. He pled guilty to charges to commit theft of government property and wire fraud. He will likely see 18 to 20 months in prison, a fine of $4,000 to $40,000, and has already agreed to pay restitution of $416,020 and asset forfeiture of the same amount. According to the Department of Justice, the body shop manager, James Ratcliffe, worked with the owner of the business and a State Department official, both unnamed, to obtain the property. It started with the wheels and tires, which were delivered and sold on two occasions, one in 2011 and another in 2012. The trucks came later, and were sold throughout 2011 and 2013. Ratcliffe and the shop owner kept most of the profits, and shared some of the leftovers with the government official. In addition to the vehicles that were sold, the government official also gave Ratcliffe a pair of Suburbans for his own personal use. The Department of Justice estimated the total value of the SUVs at $96,400. In total, the group misappropriated $512,420 worth of property. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 2006 Hummer H3 SUV
Sat, Apr 27 2024After General Motors bought the rights to the Hummer brand from AM General in 1999, it continued to sell the civilianized versions of the military HMMWV that was made famous after appearing in the heavily televised Operation Desert Storm. The Hummer H1 (as it became known) never sold in large numbers, but The General decided to make everyman Hummers based on existing GM truck platforms. The Silverado-based H2 came first, debuting as a 2003 model, followed by the Colorado-based H3 as a 2006 model. Here's one of those first-year H3s, found in a Denver self-service car graveyard recently. Now it's time for some Hummer brand history. After the American Motors Corporation bought Kaiser Jeep in 1970, it spun off the fleet and military parts of that operation into a new company called AM General. The best-known AM General products for many years were the Jeep DJ Dispatchers, generally called "Mail Jeeps," and they were sold all the way through 1984. 1984 was also the year that the United States Army put the first AM General-built High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV, which soldiers pronounced "Humvee" at first but eventually adopted the "Hummer" nickname). Around the same time, militarized VW-powered sand rails were being purchased from Chenowth by Uncle Sam. After Arnold Schwarzenegger convinced AM General to build civilianized Hummers, sales of the not-so-civilized brute that became the H1 began in 1992. The H2 and H3 had the misfortune to be launched just before the Great Recession hit and fuel prices went crazy, while a couple of overseas conflicts that were much less popular than Gulf War I made grim headlines and reduced the street appeal of combat-inspired civilian wheels. The H1 got the axe in 2006; GM tried and failed to sell the Hummer brand to a Chinese manufacturer in 2010, as it struggled through Chapter 11 bankruptcy, finally giving up and killing the brand alongside Pontiac, Saturn and Saab. Then the Hummer name was revived in 2022 as an electron-fueled GMC model, and you can buy a 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV right now (though GMC's website warns of "LIMITED AVAILABILITY" in big red letters, so you might have a hard time actually taking delivery of one). The final 2010 H3s were built for Avis at Shreveport Operations, which itself shut down two years later.
