First thing  I want to say is that however nice this truck looks in the pictures, It is nicer in person. I sell lots of H1 Hummers and I have had a lot of really nice ones and this is definitely one of the nicest I have had. It is definitely the best looking and that's because of all of the Toys (or extras). There were very few 2004's produced and the next and last Hummer H1 made was in 2006. The interior scheme of the 2006 and the 2004 was the same. You will notice that when you look at my photos. The entire under carriage of this truck looks like that of a 5k miles truck. There is very very little wear and absolutely NO RUST. I have both keys and all books and other stuff that came with the truck new. There was an odometer replacement at 15,223 and it was done by Hummer and the placed a sticker in the jam next to the vin sticker making this official. I have a photo of this if you would like to see it. The truck has 530 miles on the new odometer so the truck now has 15,800 miles. The previous owner had this truck in a collection of cars which explains how it's undercarriage is so free of wear but also explains why the mileage has remained so low. I would argue that it is probably one of the most wear free Hummers for sale right now but of coarse there is no way to prove that. In July of last year the truck physically left the collection and went for a Registration Renewal and the DMV used the mileage on the odometer thus sending up huge red flags for both Carfax and AutoCheck. We are in the process of attempting to gets this mistake corrected but cannot guarantee that is can or will be. Although the mistake is very obvious and the replacement was clearly documented, the State of Iowas has some pretty strange rules of about how this Correction has to occur and has assigned an "investigator" to look into it. Somehow I don't I am a very high priority and I guess I understand. Oh well that Government Bueracracy for you. Anyway, I welcome adn one who questions this Mileage decrapency to have a Hummer dealer inspect it is to confirm what I have already told you. It is a 15 miles 2004 in the condition you would expect if not better. If you have any questions feel free to call 480-540-0336.

Team Miller Fisher finishes the 20th Anniversary Rallye A"icha des Gazelles

Team Miller Fisher finishes the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles - Click above for high-res image gallery
Team Miller Fisher has crossed the finish line of the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles - in a Hummer H3 driven off a Parisian dealer's lot - and battled from 51st to 12th out of 98 teams after a mistake on the first leg. The Rallye Aïcha, a six-stage trek through the desert, allows no use of GPS, no pace notes, no cell phones, and no binoculars. Pilots and co-pilots find their way between checkpoints with maps, compasses and pencils, and whoever completes the journey in the shortest distance, wins.
The race was made even harder this year by using not the 1:100,000-scale maps of years past, but scraps of paper with increasingly less route information as the race went on. Olympic skier and co-pilot Wendy Fisher wrote to say, "This continues to be the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. An unbelievably tough event. Days were SO long, almost impossible to get all of the checkpoints."

Humvee reborn on the battlefield... with a chimney?!

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

The military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), better known to most of us as the Humvee, has already served a long and distinguished career in the battlefield, and there have been a number of replacements waiting in the wings to take over where the HMMWV left off. Or, should we say, leaves off... assuming that ever happens.
It seems that the Humvee is set to get a new lease on life as military budget constraints are forcing the government to reconsider its replacement. But there are still some pesky safety issues to work out before American soldiers will feel comfortable inside the confines of the off-road box on wheels.
As you're likely aware, improvised explosive devices are an ever-increasing threat to the lives of American troops serving overseas. The Humvee, which traces its design all the way back to the year 1984 when it first saw duty as a replacement for the long-running series of military Jeeps, has seen a number of incarnations over the years that added armor and improved safety, but the latest version may feature something hitherto unseen: a chimney.

GeigerCars Hummer H2 Bomber is ready for winter...now that it's spring

GeigerCars Hummer H2 Bomber - Click above for high-res image gallery
GiegerCars has a love affair with American cars, and a particularly strange affection for Hummers. The German tuner has created all sorts of strange variants like a Christmas-themed H2, a 700-horsepower H2 built for a Texas sheriff or any number of racing-liveried Hummers like the "Gulf Wing" or this Martini Racing inspired H3.
GiegerCars' latest creation is the Hummer H2 Bomber. The most notable modification is the addition of four Mattracks 88M1-A1 rubber tracks that replace the twenty inch wheels. The rest of the vehicle features a military design theme as well as a roof box with lighting and a silver matte paint finish. Now all we need is a race on a snow-covered drag strip between this and Ken Block's Subaru TRAX STI. Follow the jump for the press release from GeigerCars.
