New York Rebuilt Title

I bought this car in October 2012 with a salvage title. It was totaled at 99k miles due to a minor front left collision. Airbags were not deployed. Only the front bumper, hood, left headlight and left fender needed replacement. I have the receipts for the parts that were replaced and the work done. After the repairs were completed the car was taken to NY DMV for salvage inspection and it was approved. Since then I've been driving it daily for the last ~6k miles.

Mechanically the car is very good condition. It runs and drives perfectly, no mechanical issues at all. However the exterior needs a little TLC. There are a few scratches and rock chips on the body(see pictures below). The interior is clean but the driver seat, floor mat and the steering wheel is showing signs of wear(see pictures below). All of the electrical accessories(radio, power windows, headlights, etc.) work perfectly.

All maintenance was done by myself. Engine oil/filter was changed in 3k mile intervals. Transmission, differential, brake and clutch fluid were changed when I first bought the car. All four tires(Sumitomo HTRz3) have less then 3k miles.

Under my ownership I also added a Black OEM Hardtop. Once you fold down the soft-top, it only takes seconds to put the hardtop on. Car looks beautiful with the hardtop on. Soft-top is in good condition with no tears/holes. Hardtop is not for sale separately.

Vehicle pickup is the responsibility of the buyer. I accept cash or cashier's check for payment. Funds need to clear before the car is released. All sales are final. I have the NY rebuilt title in hand, ready to be transferred. Car comes with 1 key and 1 remote.

Honda, GM supposedly working together on PHEVs, autonomous cars

Thu, Jan 7 2016

Back in 2013, Honda and General Motors announced that they would work together on hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (pictured). The stated goal was to develop "commercially feasible fuel cell and hydrogen storage" for around 2020, but there was no discussion at the time that any actual H2 vehicles would come out of the program. Things are evolving with that partnership, maybe. There are rumors circling this week that the two automakers are now working together on plug-in hybrid vehicle technology and autonomous technology. The supposed new facet to the GM-Honda partnership doesn't just focus on a powertrain, reports The Yomiuri Shinbun, but also in getting suppliers to lower prices because now you have two automakers ordering parts together. Building plug-in hybrids and fuel cell cars together might be a thing, too, Yomiuri says. The 2013 hydrogen partnership was made between two leaders in the field (the announcement press release talks says, "GM and Honda rank No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in total fuel cell patents filed between 2002 and 2012." But if these new rumors are true, then it's more of a bit of catch up for Honda (which had a great but unsuccessful car in the Accord PHEV) while GM gets more tech to better challenge Toyota. That's how the Yomiuri presents it, anyway. A Honda spokesperson told AutoblogGreen that, "Honda and GM's collaboration in the co-development of next generation fuel cell systems is making good progress. Engineers are discussing how we might expand the relationship utilizing each other's strengths, but there is no fixed plan regarding specific areas or timing." Average transaction prices climb to a record $36,270 in January

Sat, Feb 3 2018

The automotive sector made a hash of the numbers last month, a mess of pluses and minuses clogging the transaction-price charts according to Kelley Blue Book. The overall industry rose one percent, even though buyers bought fewer cars and light vehicles in January 2018 vs 2017 using the selling-day adjusted rate. Due to January transaction prices rising to $36,270, a record for January, the value of new vehicles sold climbed more than $1 billion compared to January 2017. KBB's transaction prices don't include customer incentives, which changes the complexion slightly; average incentive spending rose to just over ten percent. The average transaction price in December 2017 was $36,756, so January dropped a bit - nothing unexpected, with the month annually blamed for "January doldrums." More revealing is the fact that the average transaction price in January 2017 was $34,910. This year's plumped-up figure came courtesy of the continued shift to crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks, which shouldn't surprise anyone who's read an automotive blog in the past 20 years. That category comprised nearly 70 percent of new vehicle sales for the month. Some manufacturers profited more than others, though. Fiat Chrysler managed 12.8 percent fewer sales in January compared year-on-year, but the company's vehicles sold for $1,300 more. The Ford brand suffered a 6.3-percent dip in sales, but brand transaction prices increased $2,000, while a Lincoln sold for $8,700 more on average. General Motors sold more cars and sold them for more money; overall GM transaction prices rose four percent, or $1,270, while a GMC traded hands for seven-percent more than in January 2017 and a Cadillac got $2,300 more on average. Of KBB's listed automakers, the Volkswagen Group got the most of out its customers, transaction prices rising at the German automaker by 5.6 percent to $42,243 in January 2018 compared to a year earlier. American Honda followed with a 4.3-percent increase to $28,991, GM in third at 4.1 percent to $40,313. Find your next car at Autoblog using our new and used car listings or the Car Finder tool. Broken out by segment, minivans rocked the table, transaction prices leaping by 7.9 percent to $35,380 compared to January a year earlier. Luxury cars boasted the next-highest rise, at 3.6 percent to $58,533.
