Im selling this car for a friend , please dont ask questions toward the end of the listing ,,, this car although runs and drives will need engine work and should be shipped to were it is going ,, ,, You are bidding on a 1999 Honda Prelude,, DOHC V-TEHC 4-CYL WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, car body is in very good condition does have some dings and scratches please take a look at photos ,, interior is clean nothing major there just some wear on driver carpet and seat but no rips , please take a look at pics,, a/c does not work although it did ,, may just need recharge dint check,, passenger side window does not work not sure what it is did not look at it,, all other options work including electric sunroof , transmission works fine and was a daily driver until the motor developed a knock,, brakes and tires were done not too long ago and are in very good shape ,, suspension is tight and car did drive straight dont see y it would not drive the same way now,, please ask questions all are welcome ,, there is no spare tire my friend sais he does not have it,, car has been sitting for a few months but stared right up,, battery may or may not need to be replaced ,, i put the booster pack on it to start and after that it started with no booster pack , car has aftermarket DXR performance rims , exhaust tips, air cleaner, alpine cd player, paint is in good shape and should detail to be nicer,, please ask questions email or call me 928 614 8155 Shipping is buyers responsibility ,, however i will assist in any way that i can , $300 deposit through paypal in 24 hours ,, the rest can be in cash at time of pick up or certified check, check needs to clear first before car is picked up or shipped, clear title on hand .. Honda tweaks ad after catching ire from Detroit protesters [w/video]
Mon, 27 Jan 2014Honda has released a revised version of its youth-focused Today is Pretty Great commercial because the original used footage of Detroit bankruptcy protesters in front of the Theodore Levin US Courthouse. The protesters felt that Honda was making fun of their plight. The new version cuts out the protestors and replaces them with a close-up of a bankruptcy court sign. Honda says that it never intended to tie the ad to Detroit and made the change to avoid that appearance.
"The slight change we made to the commercial simply reflects our desire to remove anything that would get in the way our uplifting message," said Honda spokesman Steve Kinkade in a statement to The Detroit News.
Honda's footage of the protestors lasted about one second in the original ad. It blurred the protestors' faces, and the name of the courthouse was not visible. The company said that the footage was meant to represent any courthouse in the US. Both versions have about five seconds of negative imagery at the beginning before transitioning to young people saying that there are some great things about today too.
Formula 1 seeking independent engine supplier
Mon, Oct 26 2015Formula 1 could get a new engine supplier in the near future, if Bernie Ecclestone and the independent teams gets their way. According to Autosport, the FIA is soon to open the contract up for bids, and there are already several manufacturers that have expressed interest. Currently Mercedes, Ferrari, Renault, and Honda supply engines – both to their own premier teams (Red Bull and McLaren for the latter two) but also to other teams like Williams, Sauber, and Toro Rosso. Because the new turbocharged V6 hybrid power units cost those four suppliers so much to develop, they're charging their customer teams big bucks – around $20-30 million per season – to provide the engines. These costs are much higher than the $10 million or so it used to cost to purchase a V8 engine under the previous regulations. Ecclestone figures it's time to bring in another supplier who will not run their own team and not play favorites, but will supply engines to private teams at a lower cost. There are already a number of potential suppliers under consideration. One of them is said to be Cosworth, which has a long history in the series stretching back to 1963. The British firm stepped back between 2007 and 2009, returned in 2010, and dropped out again after 2013. The development could be of particular benefit to Red Bull, which has been unable to find an engine supplier and could be forced out of the series as a result. The team has long been powered by Renault, but that relationship has grown sour. And the other three engine manufacturers have not been forthcoming in offering an alternative arrangement for the team. Takata airbag victim looked like she had been stabbed

The more time you spend reading car news on Autoblog, the better informed you'll be. And the more airbags your car has, the safer you'll be. Because airbags equal safety. But that's not what some unfortunate drivers of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags are finding, and tragically finding out the hard way.
In what could be the most startling incident resulting from the airbag debacle so far, a woman named Hien Tran of Orlando, FL, was killed by what looked at first like stab wounds on her neck. It later emerged that the fatal injuries could have been inflicted by the faulty airbag on her Honda Accord. Tran bought her Honda secondhand, and may not have been aware that the airbag issue had not been addressed by its previous owner in a previous recall in 2009.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death, but it wouldn't be the only injury resulting from the malfunctioning Takata airbags. The units, employed particularly by Japanese automakers like Honda (which owns part of Takata) and Toyota, are the subject of a massive recall involving some 14 million vehicles from 11 different automakers.
