Selling a 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring.  Silverish gold exterior, black leather interior.  This minivan has ALL of the available features of the model year.  Some of the notable ones include navigation for you, DVD player for the kids, leather seats (heated/power front seats, removable captain's chairs for the middle row), park assist, height adjustable pedals, power sliding doors on both sides, power liftgate, runflat tires and more.  It also includes many options/features that other cars have, such as power windows/locks/mirrors, power glass sunroof, power disc brakes with ABS, front and side airbags, front and rear air conditioning and much more.

This minivan has the 3.5 liter V6 engine, with ECO mode/cylinder deactivation.  When coasting, it automatically shuts off 3 of the 6 cylinders, saving fuel.

Routine maintenance has been done.  Radiator flush, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, idler pulley has all been done.  Oil change was done at the same time (all at 103,400 miles).  It's a pricey job (around $1000), which was done, so you don't have to.  AC just just recharged.  1 motor mount was replaced.  2 tires were recently replaced as well (one was brand new, the other was a low mileage used one).  A spare/extra PAX runflat wheel and tire are included.

This Odyssey carries a PA reconstructed title.  It was hit on the left front, with all cosmetic damage, as well as a broken headlight, radiator and ac condensor.  None of the airbags deployed, and there was no frame damage whatsoever, as the hit was very high up by the headlight area.  All damaged parts have been replaced with brand new parts.  All work was done by a professional body shop.  It was taken for state reconstruction inspection where it passed with flying colors.  This Odyssey will register in any state as a normal titled vehicle would.

I drove this van for 1000 miles in the past 3 weeks, both to work and back, as well as on 2 separate family trips.  My 5 year old daughter loves it because of all the room it has, and the DVD screen keeps her occupied on long drives.  The rear air/heating helps too.  My wife likes it because it has heated seats, and also separate climate controls for the driver and passenger (I can have AC on while she has the heat on, at the same time).

The body of this Odyssey is in overall good shape.  There are a few scratches on the back bumper, and a medium sized scrape on the right side in the back, as seen in the pics.  Interior is clean.  We have the original equipment all weather Honda mats (rubber, form fitted ones) for the front, center, rear, as well as trunk area.

This is a no reserve auction, so highest bid gets it.  I also have a buy it now price on there, which you should use if this is what you want, as I believe my price is more than fair, and probably less than most.  We are selling because instead of 1 minivan, our family needs 2 smaller cars (which we already bought).

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  Also, this auction isn't limited to local buyers.  If you are somewhat local, say, within about 250 miles, I can possibly have it delivered to you for free (after full payment has been made).  If you are further out, I can help arrange for vehicle transport (which you would be responsible for payment on).  I have shipped cars cross country before.  Not as big of a hassle as it seems (time wise and financially).  Send me a message and I can get a quote.

This van is ready to go, with no liens.  I just have to physically go to pick up the title at a family member's house, which can be done on a day's notice.

$250 due within 24 hours after auction closes, via Paypal.  Balance is due within 7 days after auction closes.  Payment is to be made via cash or certified check.  Title and vehicle will not be released until full payment is made.  This Odyssey is sold as-is, with no warranty, written or implied.  It's a Honda though.  It should run for a very, very long time.

Happy Bidding!!!

Honda Civic losing ground to Toyota Corolla, sales crown threatened

Wed, Dec 17 2014

Oh, what a difference a year has made. When the numbers were tallied for 2013, the Honda Civic was riding high by claiming its segment's sales crown in the US despite being challenged by the latest generation of the Toyota Corolla for part of the year. However, with just a month to go in the battle for C-segment supremacy in 2014, it looks like Toyota gets to hoist the trophy this time. Looking at November sales numbers, Honda moved 300,644 Civics through the first 11 months of the year, down 2.1 percent in volume. Furthermore, for the month alone, the company sold 23,060 Civics, a 12.3 percent drop. Meanwhile, on Toyota's side, business has been booming comparatively. Through the first 11 months it sold 309,373 Corollas, a 10.6 percent jump, and for November alone it moved 25,609 examples, a 14.2 percent improvement. With fewer than 10,000 cars between them, it would take quite a December slump for the Corolla to lose this fight. According to The Truth About Cars, the Civic actually started out the 2014 somewhat positively with 5 percent growth over the previous year, though still behind the Corolla's figures. However, the Honda has seen a slide since then with five consecutive months of sales drops. Meanwhile, the Toyota has generally kept showing growth. Being the newer model of the two, the Corolla comes to this fight with an advantage. Honda hasn't let the Civic languish; it gave the model a CVT in 2014 to boost fuel economy. That's nothing like the Toyota's thorough recent rethink, though. According to TTAC, Honda does have reason to crow about the Civic, just not necessarily in the US. The model is on track to be the bestselling vehicle in Canada for the 17th consecutive year and have its best sales since 2008 there.

Will states start to prevent you from registering cars that have pending recalls?

Sat, Nov 22 2014

The impact of 2014 – henceforth known as Year of the Recalls – will have long-ranging consequences on the auto industry. One of the biggest changes, though, might not be in the way manufacturers inform the government of pending recalls or in the way Uncle Sam punishes automakers that violate its rules, but in the ability to sell cars with pending recalls. And strangely enough, the charge is being led by an automaker. Honda Executive Vice President Rick Schostek, pictured above, argued during a meeting of the Senate Transportation Committee that the government needs to take a role in mandating that consumers have recall services performed. That could include withholding registration for vehicles with pending recalls, Bloomberg reports. Honda is just one of the automakers currently embroiled in the massive Takata airbag recall. "It's a good idea," safety advocate Clarence Ditlow said, according to Bloomberg. "California won't give you a registration if you have an emissions recall. Why not a safety recall?" "Honda is going to use any innovative tools to find customers and get these recalls done," Schostek told the Transportation Committee. The exec, aside from echoing Ditlow's viewpoint, also argued for requiring dealerships and garages to inform vehicle owners of incomplete recalls, regardless of the service provided. Schostek also made an argument that state governments could step in, as well. Whatever ends up happening, it's fair to say that between Takata and General Motors, the future of recalls for American consumers are set for significant changes. Honda speeds towards its dreams with new Civic Type R Concept [w/videos]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

A war is coming. It's been brewing for some time between the top-performing hot hatches, and will be determined by the ultimate bragging rights: the lap record at the Nürburgring for front-drive cars. Renault claimed it and reclaimed it again with successive versions of the Megane RS, then Seat took it by some margin with the new Leon Cupra. But this could take it from both.
It's the new Honda Civic Type R - or at least a conceptual preview of the one to follow. We drove an early prototype of the forthcoming Japanese hot hatch while in town for the Tokyo Motor Show a few months ago, where Honda made no secret of its Eiffel-bound aspirations. Now it has taken a big step closer with the concept you see here.
Previewing the extreme styling that will set the next Type R apart from ordinary Civics (or the European-spec hatchback on which it's based), the concept has a giant rear spoiler, enlarged grilles, hood vents and widened fenders packing both 20-inch alloys and additional air vents.
