I am going to explain this wonderful car in ALL of the details I possibly can.  I am also going to upload a video so you can see and hear it for yourself.

I recently purchased this vehicle from a seller in Virginia Beach.  He bought it off of his friends that were great with cars, and drove it for awhile also.  His friends took great care of the car, and did everything the maintenance book said to, and always changed the oil after 3,000 miles.  He did the same.  The buyer before me also did an overhaul to the vehicle, and change all of the belts (other than the s-belt which is tricky to get to in these Honda's).

After I bought the vehicle.  I drove it from Philadelphia, PA to Orlando, FL where it is located now.  There were no problems in the vehicle at all, and she drove really nice.  I changed the front two tires in FL, you can see the receipt for $140 in the picture.  After driving for a little in Flordia, I noticed the temp guage was going up a little, so I took the radiator cap off and saw there was little coolant.  I filled it up, and on I drove for some time.

I was driving to Gainesville, 200 miles away, and the temp guage went up again.  I pulled over, and had white smoke that smelt like coolant coming from the exhaust.  All signs pointed to a blown head gasket from people I talked to (I don't know much about cars, just try to learn what I can when I can).

The next day, I filled it up with coolant and drove it to firestone auto care.  They did a pressure test in the coolant system and found 2 broken hoses.  They replaced these, pressure tested again, and all was good with the coolant system.  This cost $75.55

The car was hard to start after this, which firestone believed was due to a blown head gasket.  I then went to an auto part store, where they suggested blue devil.

I bought blue devil, and what was told to buy with it, (new thermostat, guage, etc.)  I had a mechanic friend help me, and we removed the thermostat and replaced the hoses.  We then completely drained the radiator, did a complete radiator flush with a flushing agent.  We noticed a small leak near the drain cock of the system, and patched this hole w/ putty.  We then drained the radiator again.  We filled the radiator with water and blue-devil, and let idle for 1 hour.  I then test drove it, and it heated up a little.  We filled it with coolant, as it was low after idling, and drove it for 30 minutes.  All was great.. no coolant smell from the exhaust, both fans worked, no overheating, etc.

The next day it started up great again, and I drove it 200 miles back to Orlando.  Towards the end it started to overheat again, and once I parked the vehicle, it again let white smoke out of the exhaust smelling like coolant.  I checked the oil both times and there is no water in it, so it looks like it is just a minor blown head gasket.  As you can see in the video, the engine does crank, it just doesn't turn.  If I wasn't going back to California, I'd just pay the money to get the head gasket fixed, but I don't have time/ was going to sell it anyway.

Vehicle shows minimal signs of rust, just a little under the gas fill up, and minor spots that just look like bad paint.  The engine ran very well when the car was running.  The transmission would stick a tiny bit going from 2 to 3 gear.

The car is a great car, that will run for many many more miles once this head is fixed.  I wanted to give as much info as possible, so you know exactly what you're buying, a very good car, that needs a head gasket fixed.

One man's love of vintage Honda motorcycles spawns new museum

Mon, Jan 19 2015

In 1977, David Silver got a Honda SS50 moped - it was the last year of unrestricted mopeds for riders just 16 years of age in the UK. That two-wheeler made him a fan, and starting his Honda parts business in 1986 made him a part of the Honda family. He started collecting, with the idea that he'd eventually open a museum. During a visit to another amateur collector's trove in Pennsylvania, the Brit got the chance to purchase the 125 bikes the American had gathered, and his museum aspirations hit the fast-forward button. He's in the process of building a proper home for the bikes in Suffolk, it should open later this year. There will be everything from the first Cub F engine that people could attach to bicycles in 1952, to two examples of the CB92 Benly Super Sport that showed how fast and how good a 125cc bike could be, to the first Fireblade that dropped in 1992 - our CBR 900RR, to the original Honda Dream. Honda says it could be one of the finest collections outside the company's museum in Japan. You can watch Silver tell his story in the video above, and there's more on what's he'll have in an article in Honda's Dream magazine. 2015 Pikes Peak Hill Climb: Practice Day 1

Wed, Jun 24 2015

Based on what we learned from the first day of practice for the 2015 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, the quickest race pace up the paved road to more than 14,000 feet above sea level may not be from internal combustion locomotion anymore. "If it all goes well, and the planets align, [under nine minutes] shouldn't be out of the question," said Paul Wilding, team manager for Nobuhiro "Monster" Tajima's Rimac Automobili Monster Sport E-Runner entry. Wilding added that if Tajima's car held up during the week it could finish first overall, which would be the first time an EV takes the overall crown at the hill climb. Last year, the gap between overall winner Romain Dumas' Norma M20 RD Limited and the fastest EV was just over two seconds. In the 2014 race, Tajima finished third in his class. "We think this car is the fastest way up now," said Wilding. "There's no affect from the altitude – this car is a monster, our driver is a monster." The practice, which isn't mandatory but is sanctioned by race officials, concluded Tuesday morning with a few surprises ahead of Sunday's race. Tajima will be racing for the fourth consecutive year in the all-electric modified division. Wilding said today's conditions weren't ideal and the race Sunday could be more challenging than initially expected. "It was a lot bumpier than we expected today," he said. "But today means nothing. It was all [reconnaissance]. Tomorrow means everything." The Honda ARX-04B LMP2 prototype brought to Pikes Peak had a difficult start to the week. Honda Racing spokesman Eric Mauck said the car struggled and didn't run in practice Tuesday. "We're looking for data and research more than anything else," Mauck said. "We're not going for Sebestain's record this year, we're just looking to gather information for years to come." Colorado-native, Honda driver, and Formula E racer Justin Wilson will pilot the LMP2 up the mountain Wednesday – assuming the car is ready. "He's obviously a guy that Honda thinks very highly of. Anytime we have an opportunity to put Justin behind the wheel of anything we want to," Mauck said. Honda driver Tetsuya Yamano, who is driving an all-electric Honda CR-Z in the exhibition class, echoed Mauck's assessment. "We're not making a racecar," Yamano said through an interpreter. "This is part of [research and development] and we're looking to get as much data back to engineers in Japan as possible ...
