For sale is a 1988 CRX DX that I have had for 4 years.
Bought the car with no interior in the rear, I wish it had it. Garage kept, I drive it every other weekend and put about 500 mile on her, she gets around 32-35 MPG with the ZC transmission. Need to sale to get a bigger vehicle for the family, she needs some one to drive her more and have fun.
Rebuilt  the motor 6 months ago and went a little NUTS on rebuild, bored the D16z6 .20 over and put NIPPON racing pistons in and balanced the rod and pistons to .5 gram from one another. Match ported the intake and the exhaust with a lite polish job. ZC pistons in a d16zc makes the compression 12.5 so I put a COMETIC 65mm head gasket to set it around 11.1 so I can run 91+ fuel, put around 1700 miles on her and  2 oil changes, runs really strong. Running only Royale Purple 5w30 with a OEM oil filter.

Started to vinyl rap the car with blue carbon fiber,  haven’t had time to finish it. The paint job was fading so I that it would be cheaper to rap it instead of painting it.

• New bearings
• New brake pads
• New paint job
• New SS brake lines
• (needs new rotors)

Replaced  the bushings, bearings and ball joints in the front. Cleaned the engine bay, and rewired it to OBD-1 from the H22 wiring harness I had from another build   New shocks and TEIN springs with Ksport lower arms in the rear. The Delsol seats were in the car when I bought her, and  they didn’t fit right so I modified  them to fit in the stock location , they are in very good condition with new material that looks like leather with red stitch.
I ordered a ZC tranny to replace the dx one, mod the zc to work with stock CV joints.
The shifter is a Skunk2 with a 2000 Type R nob from Japan.
Has a  PERSONAL steering wheel from Italy, with a SIR hub from japan in the car.
Rebuilt the AC and converted it to R134a

'Car Wars' says Ford, Honda to pick up share, Fiat-Chrysler ambitions downplayed

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

Don't look for a tremendous shifts in automotive market share over the next three years because it might not be coming. That's at least according to the annual Car Wars report by John Murphy, from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research.
In the report's analysis of automakers' market share from 2013 to 2017, it predicts only small changes among the major companies. Ford and Honda see the biggest positive effect with an estimated 0.5 percent increase in their shares over the next three years; to 16.2 percent and 10.3 percent respectively. On the flip side, European automakers and Nissan are expected to lose 0.2 percent each to fall to 8.3 percent and 7.8 percent each respectively. The rest of the industry is predicted to hold steady as it is now.
The biggest loser in that prediction might be Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles. The report certainly throws a wet blanket on its plan for significant gains in market share. Murphy told The Detroit News that the company's goal was "almost unattainable."

Meet the Kanjozoku, Osaka's infamous street racers

Thu, 17 Jul 2014

Street racing is obviously illegal and incredibly dangerous, but that has never stopped people from doing it. While we don't hear nearly as much about the scourge of Japanese tuner cars as when The Fast and the Furious first hit theaters over a decade ago, illegal street racing is still bubbling under the surface all over the island nation. An excellent new documentary short from Bowls Films takes a look at the Kanjozoku from Osaka, Japan; a group that claims to be partially responsible for the tuning style known as JDM.
The group gets their name from their preferred route known as the Kanjo. It's a 4.77-mile long loop of connected highways running right through the city of Osaka. You might expect a hardcore group of illegal Japanese racers to show up with highly tuned Nissan GT-R and Toyota Supra coupes, but the Kanjozoku evidently eschew all of the others in favor of one particular car that they love: the Honda Civic.
According to the video, that vehicle of choice came in part from the city's location. Osaka was relatively near the one-make Civic races held at Japan's legendary Suzuka racetrack. The hatchbacks thus became the default weapons for the Kanjozoku's street battles.

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey

Wed, 05 Feb 2014

According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.
