Condition

  •  External Condition:  Excellent overall condition.  No scratches, swirl marks, dents, dings or curb rash. Car has always been washed by hand – never has it gone through a “soft touch” car wash.

  • Internal Condition: Excellent overall condition.  No wear.  Everything works as it should.

Disclosures

  •       I have sold a few vehicles online, and I always disclose anything that’s not perfect.  In this case, I can only think of some wax that has dried on the black plastic around the front emblem that is difficult to remove.  Everything else is in perfect condition, and that is how you should set your expectation.

Here’s why you should buy THIS car:

  •           This car has been meticulously maintained and cared for.  It’s always kept somewhere between clean and spotless.
  •           A Honda bumper-to-bumper warranty still exists through November 2015 / 36000 miles.  Powertrain is good through November 2017 / 60000 miles.
  •       Llumar 35% window tint.  Guaranteed for LIFE not to fade.  Not too dark; not too light – it’s just right to block UV rays and heat.  Receipt/warranty included.  ($250 value)

  •       BeautyGuard Super Gloss Paint Protectant applied to entire exterior so car washing is super easy.  Looks like it’s just been waxed all the time.  4-year warranty.  Receipt/warranty included.  ($300 value)

  •           Genuine Honda winter floor mats and Genuine Honda summer floor mats included. ($135 value)
  •           Genuine Honda trunk tray included. ($150 value)
  •     1200 watt Infinity Kappa Perfect 12” subwoofer in enclosed box and Lanzar monoblock digital amplifier with wired remote installed.  I’ve had this sub/amp combination in my previous Accord.  I am an audiophile; this system is awesome.  I’ll be sad to see this go.  If you don’t want this installed, I will de-install it!!  It is a $900 value brand new.  I will give you $250 cash back if you don’t want this!  The cables aren’t long enough for my new sedan, unfortunately.

  •           The clear title is in my possession (no liens).
  •       Both keys, all books and original window sticker are included.  Even the keys look brand new!
  •      MSRP $33,140. Edmunds.com True Market Value is $26,070 for private party and $27,300 for dealer retail value.  These values do not include the window tint, paint protection, winter floor mats, trunk tray, or sound system; $1735 of extra stuff!! No dealer fees!
  •           The car handles like a dream.  No apologies necessary – you will be thrilled with this purchase.  The 6-speed manual transmission makes this a very fun car to drive every day.  Short throw shift is very smooth and easy.  This color and trim combination is very hard to find.  Of the 1000’s of 2013 Accords for sale, there is only 1 on Autotrader similar to this (priced at $33K because it has 0 miles) and 1 on eBay (priced at $28K – not including “$489 documentation fee” - with 8K miles). Neither have the add-ons I’ve mentioned above.

Service History

  • Two oil changes and tire rotations have been performed on schedule by Honda dealership.  Synthetic oil used.  Current oil life is showing 80%.

  • There’s nothing else to say here..  It’s a Honda.

No S660 for US, but Honda wants sporty cars

Mon, Aug 31 2015

Honda, best known lately for being a mainstream player rather than the brand that brought us the CRX Si, NSX, Integra Type-R, and S2000, apparently wants to builds sporty cars for the US again. With that in mind (or not), Honda has ruled out bringing the tiny, sporty S660 roadster across the Pacific. "I wouldn't put my chips on [the S660]," American Honda Executive Vice President John Mendel told Automotive News. At nearly 11.1 feet long, the S660 slots in between the 12.8-foot Mazda MX-5 Miata and the 8.8-foot Smart ForTwo. Yet Mendel says the tiny two-seater wouldn't work here. "When the practicalities of the market come in, and the car only so big, that might not be the best car for the US market," Mendel said. "It might be better for India or China or somewhere else." Honda is considering its options here in the US, though. As AN reports, after his takeover earlier this year, new CEO Takahiro Hachigo promised more sporting models, like the new, US-bound, 300-horsepower Civic Type R. And while it's no secret that Honda has filed patent drawings for a mid-engine model, Mendel offered little to indicate that it'd become a reality. Calling the project from Honda's Silicon Valley research and design facility a "design study," Mendel wouldn't answer AN when it asked whether this new model was successor to the S2000 or a more attainable, lower-powered NSX. He did, however, say his company was getting pressure from dealers over the lack of verve in the company's lineup. "They want anything in the sports car world," Mendel told AN. "They're going, 'Gimme a sports car.' They want a retractable hardtop; they want a high-horsepower $20,000 sports car. Because that's the nature of what they do." There you are, Honda. Your dealers want it, which means your consumers are probably are asking for it, and your CEO wants it, too. Make something happen.

Honda ditching Takata for next Accord's airbags

Sat, Jan 24 2015

Today brings unsurprising news that Honda will move away from Takata and source airbags for the next-generation Accord, among other models, from one of the embattled company's competitors. Both companies have been in headlines of late after the former recalled millions of vehicles that were fitted with the latter's airbag inflators, which had the unpleasant tendency to spew shrapnel at consumers. The move, as Reuters explains it, is particularly devastating for Takata. Honda is the company's largest customer, and the Accord represents its biggest product, accounting for over a quarter of the company's sales last year. It gets worse, though, as a confidential source with knowledge of the situation is reporting to Reuters that both the 2016 CR-V and Odyssey will source their airbags from Toyoda Gosei. If true, that'd mean that Takata will be losing out on more than half the cars Honda sells in the US market. At this point, Takata, Honda and Toyoda Gosei have all passed on opportunities to comment to Reuters.

Honda spending $13.8 million on hydrogen infrastructure with FirstElement

Thu, Nov 20 2014

Honda is partnering with FirstElement Fuel to increase the number of hydrogen refueling stations in California. The two have signed a letter of intent to provide $13.8 of financial assistance that, with some state money, could let FirstElement build "at least 12 stations." This is the second OEM that FirstElement is working with to install H2 stations in California. It signed a deal worth an unspecified amount with Toyota to help build 19 stations. State officials in California have said they are willing to spend $100 million to $200 million to build 100 hydrogen stations in the next few years. Honda says that FirstElement could build "at least 31" or them thanks to automaker and government investment. At some point after March 2016, when its new fuel cell car will go on sale in Japan, Honda will start selling the production version of the FCEV in the US. Honda hasn't disclosed a price, but the fuel cell stack has a power density of 3.1kW/L and a range of 300 miles, combined with a refueling time of three to five minutes. The vehicle is Honda's next step to its target of a 30-percent reduction (based on 2000 levels) in CO2 emissions by 2020 from its US vehicles. Earlier this year, FirstElement said that it expects hydrogen stations to become profitable in about five years. Honda Supporting Growth of California Hydrogen Network with Financial Support to FirstElement Fuel Nov 19, 2014 - TORRANCE, Calif. Honda contribution of $13.8 million will further expand and accelerate the network of public hydrogen refueling stations Funding could enable FirstElement to add at least 12 stations to its California hydrogen network Seeking to expand California's public hydrogen refueling station network as a means to support the wider introduction of fuel-cell vehicles, Honda will provide $13.8 million in financial assistance to FirstElement Fuel to build additional hydrogen refueling stations around the state. Additional state grants, combined with the Honda financing, could enable FirstElement to add at least 12 stations to its California hydrogen network. "FirstElement Fuel is providing a vital piece of what is needed for a successful launch of fuel-cell vehicles," said Steven Center, vice president of Honda's Environmental Business Development Office.
