Low Miles, One Owner, No Accidents, Mechanically Sound, Recent Major Service on 2040-cars
Tenafly, New Jersey, United States
This is a one owner and accident free 2003 Yukon Denali in Carbon Metallic with Pewter (dark gray) interior. It has never been smoked in and is parked in a heated garage. The vehicle has received proper and timely maintenance for its entire life. Mechanically it needs nothing. The truck had a recent $6k service where all aging and rusting underbody parts were replaced and during which the truck got new brakes , brake lines and rotors all around, plus more. It starts up on the first crank every time and is super reliable. The oil and filter were changed 4/8/14 with full synthetic, as usual. The car is not due for NJ inspection until 7/15 This vehicle was used for the occasional long trips and airport runs and thus has relatively low mileage and minimal wear on the interior. Options include: -Multimedia Sound System with Satellite navigation with Sirius radio -Sunroof -6 Disc CD changer -Engine block heater -Second row bench seat Includes original window sticker, bunch of service receipts and all original tools and manuals. Full disclosure: The truck has a few scrapes and scratches on the exterior that I can email images of to interested parties. We deemed these too minor to bother addressing and are simply cosmetic. There is a “check ride control” message on the dash that has appeared since the rear air shocks were replaced (originals were leaking) about a year ago. There are no leaks and the compressor runs for only a few seconds on startup as it should. This is most likely a code that the dealer could clear if that was important to the new owner. |

2015 GMC Canyon
Wed, 24 Sep 2014As discussed earlier today, the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado is a new standout in terms of midsize trucks. But the Colorado wasn't the only pickup the General Motors team brought to San Diego for us to sample. Also along for the ride was a pack of GMC Canyons, the slightly more expensive and polished platform-mate to the Chevy.
There's no question that the Canyon and the Colorado are a lot alike under the skin - almost entirely, in fact - so GMC has worked to first create some daylight between the two trucks by way of sheetmetal. This is most obvious from the front view, where the blocky and blingy GMC grille replaces the more subdued tone and shape seen on the Chevy's nose. Projector headlights with LED running lights come as standard, and, again, with the squared-off look that is typical of the brand. 16-inch aluminum wheels come stock on the GMC, too, with the 17-inchers seen on my photo truck offered as standard equipment on the top-trim SLT.
GMC considers the Canyon to be the only premium truck in the segment (which is clearly true), and the team has spent a ton of time and effort to get the interior correct to prove out that point. "Any trim that looks like metal, is metal," I was told at the product briefing, a certain indication that the company is serious about bringing a new class of buyer to a truck segment that it hopes to redefine.
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
