This is a 1993 GMC Typhoon with aprox 88,500 original miles. The truck is now painted black but was a apple red with silver cladding. The cladding is missing but now has wheel well moldings on it. The wheels are 20 inch after market with tire in very good condition. They don't seem to be very old at all. The engine is a 4.3 turbo charged with a water to air intercooler system that came from the factory. The truck does need a few things. The truck runs and drives very good and hold good oil pressure around 40-60 pounds. The front seats do have cracks in them and the passanger bottom thread is missing along the seem. The center console used some work, I believe one hinge is broken. The steering wheel is a aftermarket grant with a horn button located under the dash. The stereo is a cd player that made by alpine. There are some gauges inside the truck. The water temp on the pillar is hooked up and the one of the dash is not. I have the sending unit and is easy to switch it back. The oil pressure works on the dash and not the pillar gauge. The carpet behind the front driver seat needs some work and there is a picture posted. The back seat seems to be in really good condition. The power windows and door looks work great. The windows are all tinted including the windshield but the tint on the front to windows need redone. Now to the drivetrain. The engine does have some small oil leaks and what not and I notice the drive side valve cover is the worse of them which is very common for these 4.3 engines. The factory boost controller is current in need of being replaced and is by passed so the truck will only make about 8 pounds of boost right now. I had a manual one from another project on it and the turbo will spool up to the factory boost of around 14 with no problems. The factory control is a electronic unit. The transmission shifts great and a shift kit as be install. Nice firm quick shifts with no slipping. When it cold it is a little hard from 1st to 2nd but this is a normal condition for these trucks. The truck is lower a little more than factory but I had is aligned last week with no problems and od have the paperwork showing so. The front brakes and new pads, calipers, and hoses on both sides. Just passed Delaware inspection for everything but the window tint which we are not along to have here in this state and have the paper working show this as well. Delaware does have emissions and it passed on that as well. The body is pretty good but the drivers door does need door pins. There is a little rust at the bottom of both front doors and the tailgate. The cab itself is rust free in, out and under. The hood is a 2.5 inch aftermarket cowl with a finished under side. All the lights work on the truck as well. Every once in a while the anti lock brake like with come on, probably needs a wheel speed sensor. The is a small dent in tailgate buy the typhoon logo on the tailgate. The roll pan paint is a flat black and does not match the rest of the truck very well. Kind of goes with the front bumper finish. I bought this truck a few weeks ago but have released I don't have time for all the projects I have or I would not be selling this. This is a very fun truck to drive. If you have any questions or would like to see this truck please contact me on my cell 302 632 7341, chris. I will ship this truck but the buying will be resopncible for paying for this and setting up and shipper. Truck currently has a Maryland title that is clear and clean. The title shows 54,555 miles on 12/13/07. I have tried ot state everything I know but there may be something I missed and please understand this a 1993 truck and is 20 years old. These are very rare and if was restored to it orginal color there were only 101 in the color available in 1993. There was less than 5000 ever made.
***Just noticed on the vechile report that his truck has 100,000 more than I thought. The auto check shows that when is went from 145,000 to 147,000 they forgot the add the 1 in front of 47. With that in mind I thought the truck has 88,500 but it really has 188,500.******

***I have been informed by to ebay members that this is not a real typhoon but is a clone. This is don't know for sure but seems to be the case, you are buying with this being a very good possiblility.!!!!!*****

New GMC feature reminds drivers to check for kids in hot cars
Wed, Jun 15 2016We see the stories every summer: Dozens of children die from heat stroke every year after being left inside hot cars. GMC has introduced a feature in the 2017 Acadia in an effort to help curb the problem. Simply called Rear Seat Reminder, it alerts the driver if the vehicle suspects someone might have been accidentally left behind. GMC's alert will trigger under certain circumstances. Five chimes will sound and a warning will display if the rear doors are opened and closed within 10 minutes of the vehicle starting or if those doors are opened while the vehicle is running. The system does not sense items or people in the rear seat like the front passenger seat would to trigger the airbag. Warnings will be displayed regardless of interior or exterior temperature; while the summer months are the deadliest, leave-behind deaths occasionally occur during cold weather. Drivers should be aware that temperatures in vehicles can quickly rise to dangerous levels, even if the ambient temperature seems cool and comfortable. View 23 Photos Unfortunately, a large percentage of children are intentionally left in cars. A negligent caretaker, whether it be a parent, grandparent, or babysitter, can leave a child behind while they go to work or run an errand, not expecting any problems. Some children unintentionally trap themselves in cars while playing in the cabin or trunk. The Acadia's system is unlikely to prevent these scenarios. While we believe that GMC should be commended for making an effort to put an end to these tragedies, we're not certain how effective the system might be until driver education improves. It's also possible drivers will come submit to warning fatigue and begin to ignore the messages. That said, if this software-based solution prevents just one death, it was worth the effort. GM recalls Chevy Express, GMC Savana over rollaway concern
Mon, 21 Jan 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall notice for a small number of General Motors fullsize vans due to possible rollaway concerns. On certain 2013 Chevrolet Express and 2013 GMC Savana models, it is possible to remove the key from the ignition without the shifter being in park.
Only 980 total units are being affected by this recall, and GM is fixing the issue by replacing the ignition cylinder and associated keys. Affected Chevy vans were built during most of November and December while its GMC counterpart was only built for a week in November. The recall goes into effect on January 23, and to find out if your vehicle applies to the recall, the GM and NHTSA contact numbers can be found on the official recall notice, which is posted below.
Best 3rd row SUVs of 2022
Wed, Oct 19 2022If you plan on using a vehicle's third row a lot, let us at least make the suggestion that a minivan would be a smarter bet than anything you're going to see on this list of best three-row SUVs. Their third rows are bigger, more comfortable and easier to get to. The kids will definitely be happier. Here are our two top choices. OK, now that that's out of the way, we totally get why minivans are totally depressing and that if the kids want to be happier, they can buy their own darn vehicle. You're buying, you're driving, you're being seen in it and you'd rather have a three-row SUV. Fair enough. Luckily, there are more choices than ever and they're really good. The best do a particularly good job of being family friendly without looking like a drab transportation appliance, although really, you can't go wrong with any of the mainstream three-row SUVs. Now, some of the luxury choices are a bit suspect, including those that are otherwise very appealing but have cramped third-row seats (the Genesis GV80 comes to mind). We're focusing on three-row SUVs here, so having a usable third row is a must. In this list, we have broken things down into four sub-categories: Best Three-Row Crossover | Best Full-size Three-Row SUV Best Luxury Three-Row SUV | Best Flagship Luxury Three-Row SUV Note that we define crossovers as SUVs since most buyers use the terms interchangeably, but acknowledge that "crossover" is literally a vehicle with a car-like unibody structure as opposed to the truck-like, body-on-frame construction that traditionally has defined "SUV." In other words, we consider all crossovers SUVs, but not all SUVs are crossovers (specifically those in the full-size segment and some in the flagship luxury segment). Best Three-Row Crossover SUVs of 2024 2024 Honda Pilot Why it stands out: Exceptional storage and cargo space; unique second-row functionality; refined ride; versatile and capable TrailSport; advanced AWDCould be better: Subpar acceleration with lackadaisical transmission and engine response; so-so driver assistance tech Read our full 2024 Honda Pilot Review The Honda Pilot was completely redesigned for 2023. It maintains its predecessor's family friendly packaging and overall focus, but it has injected a welcome sense of style (especially in the TrailSport pictured above) that makes it stand out much better from the big crossover crowd.
