1987 87 Gmc Chev Chevrolet Suburban Sierra Classic 3rd Seat 350 Fuel Injected on 2040-cars

Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

1987 GMC Suburban Sierra Classic 1500

350 motor , fuel injection , 148,800 miles

Fully loaded , top trim package ,  power steering , power brakes , power windows, tailgate with rear power window , power door locks , cruise control , air conditioning (needs to be charged) , running boards , roof rack , 3rd seat , 9 passenger , cloth interior , chrome bumpers , optional front bumper guards , windshield antenna , back spoiler/wind deflector

Quite amazing condition for 27 tears old. My plan was to try to get it her qualify for collector plates now that she is over 25 years old, and then just use her in summer to tow our little tent trailer, motor very strong with lots of life left in her , regularly tuned and regular oil changes and these 350's will run forever.

I believe the heads were redone several years ago? , lots of invoices through the years , previous owner had installed an alarm system , and repainted her about 8 years ago , new dash cap installed at that time.

New set of tires last summer , new muffler & new brakes also , new battery, transmission serviced recently , 3 speed with Overdrive , Mileage not too bad - I've gotten up to 20 mpg on the highway , lots of regular maintence receipts , been maintained well and used as our daily family vehicle.

Issues = Starting to see a puff of blue when she starts , but does not seem to burn oil when she is running ,  Some small rust bubbles forming at bottom of a few of the doors and below one of the rear windows (see photos) ,  no rust through though , front seat could use re-upholstery , rest of interior is super nice.  Also - the speedometer has recently started being intermittent. The 148,000 miles is converted to kilometers on the odometer as the truck is in Canada.

Wish I could hang on to it but no room in the driveway.  Wife got a newer van and wants it gone. I know I will be sorry someday, but my loss your gain.

Great driver , smooth,  faithful , reliable , it's been a great family vehicle , drive her anywhere.

Nice looker - starting to turn heads , I believe value will continue to climb as she continues to age into vintage status , want a buyer who will take care of her as I have.

Good luck with your bidding

2015 GMC Yukon Denali

Tue, 25 Mar 2014

Automotive enthusiasts often wonder aloud - ourselves included - why General Motors would choose to keep GMC while sending Pontiac (and Saturn, and even Oldsmobile before it) into the great automotive graveyard in the sky. The answer, as is so often the case, is profit. It's much easier for GM to rake in money hand over fist by rejiggering the trucks, crossovers and SUVs that it would already be developing for Chevrolet and making them a bit more luxurious and *ahem* "Professional Grade" with new grilles, badges and unique packaging for GMC.
While it may sound like we're being cynical, we totally approve of GM's fullsize SUV strategy. The least-expensive way to get into the fold is with the Chevrolet Tahoe, which starts at $45,595 with a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a cloth interior. Bumping that same Chevy to LTZ trim and its $59,995 sticker price lands a much nicer leather-clad interior and more techno-bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at. But it still looks like a Tahoe, and it still comes with the smaller 5.3-liter engine. Or, you could do what we'd do: Walk into your GMC dealer and take a look at the Yukon Denali. Here's why.

2014 Chevy Silverado priced from *$24,585, V8 gets better economy than Ford EcoBoost V6

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Chevrolet has thrown down the next hand in the pickup truck poker wars and revealed at least a couple of potential aces - depending on which numbers matter most to you. The 2014 2014 Silverado 1500 with its 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 gets 335 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, is mated to a six-speed automatic, can tow 11,500 pounds with the optional Max Trailer Package and costs the same as the outgoing Silverado, $24,585 (*including $995 destination fee). Chevy says the Silverado also stands atop the fuel economy charts when comparing any competitor with a V8 engine - and some competitors with V6 engines. The two-wheel drive model returns 16 miles per gallon city, 23 mpg highway, 19 mpg combined in two-wheel drive guise and 16 mpg city, 22 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined as a four-wheel drive.
For context around those numbers, the most fuel efficient V8-powered 2013 Ford F-150 pickups lose about two mpg in every metric compared to the Silverado, the 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost returning 16 city, 18 highway and 22 combined in two-wheel drive. However, that EcoBoost does have 365 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. You can get a Ram 1500 with a 3.6-liter V6 that gets 25 mpg highway, but it has 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2013 Ram with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and its 395 hp and 407 lb-ft drops one mpg in every category to the Silverado. Its tow rating is 200 pounds beyond its nearest competitor, the F-150 with the Max Trailer Tow Package.
Elsewhere, the new Silverado gets a quieter cab with a redesigned interior, a new bed with improved load-management possibilities, disc brakes all around, tweaked steering and suspension, along with free standard scheduled maintenance for two years or 24,000 miles.

Roadkill pits every project car against each other

Sat, 22 Feb 2014

The guys behind Motor Trend's monthly Roadkill series have collected nine of their favorite project cars from their videos and pitted them against each other in a battle royale to determine a winner. It's 44 minutes long, but it's completely worth the investment of time.
The cars run the gamut from a 1973 Chevrolet Ramp Truck, a 1975 AMC Pacer and a legitimately impressive 1967 Chevy Camaro, and they are pitted against each other to see which is the fastest around an autocross course. The drivers include Roadkill's two hosts and Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman and Carlos Lago. It's reminiscent of the best episodes of Top Gear and worth a watch.
So it's the weekend - the perfect time to relax. Grab your preferred beverage, get comfortable and enjoy 44 minutes of some seriously ratty but utterly cool project cars as they are throttled within an inch of their lives (or past it). Scroll down to check out the video.
