1964 GMC 3/4 ton pickup
This pickup truck has a sound body & running gear. It has an electrical short that will drag down the battery overnight. I am not 12 V literate! Vehicle is currently located 40 miles NE of Mohave, Ca. It has very recent new 16.5 street tires on the ground & a spare. It is in running condition.  Power is GM 305. Untold mileage, due to age & previous owners. It has scratches & some rust on the right hand side. If restoration is your goal, or just a vintage vehicle, this is a real workhorse! I have carried two TONS of sand in one load with it, IN THE BED! I presently use it off road as a ranch vehicle only. It was once set up for a dual battery system. Suspension is maxed for heavy duty, w/a 2" ball hitch. (Note standing height of vehicle) Transmission is 4 speed in the floor, in good working order! Upholstery is rough! Dual saddle tanks, NO passenger seat tank! I believe one left bank valve needs to be adjusted. No warranty offerd! Vehicle runs, is driveable, no shimmy or shake. Sold ONLY AS-IS- WHERE IS!! By bidding, you affirm you have read the description, & vehicle condition described  as used! Seller offers no refund(s)!
Vehicle is presently listed as Calif "non-op". Title is clean. A three day permit can be issued by DMV for re-location. There is an additional set of 4- 16.5 mud/snow light truck tires stored away. These are included. Camper shell is optional @ no cost! I also have a NEW hi pressure oil pump for this vehicle. (included) Headlights are out of adjustment, so buyer would  be wise to transport during daylight hours. I am personally re-locating to a different state. I have lived in Ca. too long!! Vehicle is exempt from seat belt/smog certificate, being vintage 1964. "I have listed as Sierra 2500 model ONLY because proper model # not available". Delivery is not an option. PayPal accepted. Winning bidder to pick up/transport vehicle within 30 days. Item must be paid in full prior to taking possession. Shipping ONLY if winning bidder provides same!!

OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.

Chevy and GMC trucks get CNG option pricing

Fri, 18 Apr 2014

Chevrolet and GMC have clued us in to pricing of the bi-fuel option for the 2015 Silverado and Sierra 2500HD CNG and 3500HD CNG pickups: it starts at $9,500; we're still missing the rest of the pricing inferred by the word "starts," however. If you remember from the Chicago Auto Show introduction, the 6.0-liter V8 puts out 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque when drinking gas, 301 hp and 333 lb-ft when inhaling CNG.
Chevrolet figures that a bi-fuel Silverado HD is worth $2,000 in savings if driven 19,500 miles on CNG and 7,500 miles on gasoline in the span of a year, a recoup rate easily attainable to high-mileage fleet owners. It can be specced on double- and crew-cab pickups with single rear wheels, not on dualies.
The 2015 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana short-wheelbase passenger and cargo vans also get CNG options, starting at $10,825 for the three-tank system, and $12,090 for the four-tank system that can only be had on the cargo hauler. You'll find a bit more info on all of the permutations in the press release below.

GM will no longer remove parts from trucks to calculate curb weights

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Following last week's mild uproar after it was discovered that Ford and General Motors were removing some optional parts from their pickups to lower the curb weight and consequently increase the maximum payload, GM has come out and committed to a base curb weight for its upcoming Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact trucks (although it has yet to publish them) and its current Silverado and Sierra. The company will do the same for its heavy duty offerings, although those numbers have not been finalized yet.
"This will make our curb weight and payload specs more consistent with those of most other truck makers, making it easier for customers to compare vehicles," GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson told Autoblog in an emailed statement.
As GM notes - and as every manufacturer has noted since this story broke - customers still shouldn't take max payload ratings as gospel. Instead, they should refer to their truck's Tire and Load Label, like the one shown at the inset, which will offer detailed information on max payload, specific to their truck.
