Up for sale, 1986 GMC Sierra Classic in excellant condition. I bought this truck from the origanal owner last year. It is from Tennesse and has no rust on it. It is a great truck with alot of features. Truck has 84,304 origanal miles and 2800 miles on a brand new 355 small block, new holly 4 barrel carb, new fly wheel, timing chain, 3/4 inch cam, k&n air filters, headers, true dual exhaust with two flowmaster mufflers, brand new 38 inch super swamper boggers with less than 1000 miles on them, 350 turbo transmission with shift kit, 6 inch rough country lift, fog lights, power windows and locks, black leather, new gauges that work, 4X4 with manual hubs, regular cab short bed, black exterior and interior, gun rack and much more to much to list. Truck is mechanically perfect runs and drives like new, everything works good. Never took it off the road, goes straight down the road. Truck is ready for the car shows or the mud your choice. Watch GM's new pickup crash its way to five-star NHTSA ratings
Thu, 09 Jan 2014General Motors has just scored a big win with its Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra pickup trucks, acing the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration New Car Assessment Program. The two full-size trucks had already netted a five-star Overall Vehicle Score in their crew-cab variants, but the new testing certifies them as five-star trucks in both regular and double-cab bodystyles, so GM's trucks offer top ratings across the board.
"Our incredibly capable trucks have been engineered to be some of the safest," Gay Kent, GM's general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness said. "We've designed the vehicle structure, strategically placed high-strength steel and developed the occupant restraint system to achieve high levels of safety performance."
The scores mark the Silverado and Sierra as the first pickups to net five-star scores since NHTSA beefed up their testing regime in 2011, a nice feather in GM's cap as it continues to slug out the pickup truck wars with crosstown rivals Ford and Ram.
GM mulling off-road variants of fullsize SUVs
Tue, 24 Sep 2013According to General Motors, owners "just love off-roading with [its fullsize body-on-frame sport utility vehicles]," namely the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban and GMC Yukon. If that's the case, it's a bit odd that sales of the previous generation of these models with the Z71 off-road package didn't sell particularly well.
Perhaps, considering this disconnect between owner's thoughts and desires with actual sales, it's not surprising that General Motors is reportedly "considering" an off-road specific model. That means the package would include styling changes and badges along with suspension modifications and larger wheels with appropriately sized fender flares.
There's no indication if the off-road model would be called Z71 or when it may potentially go on sale, assuming it ever goes on sale at all.
OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles
Thu, 06 Jun 2013As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.
