If you want a reliable and Very entertaining toy, this is it!! Starts and runs easily, looks terrific, gets lots of attention too!! The truck was built in the 80's as a show truck. Fully detailed undercarriage including fully painted frame and suspension. There is absolutely NO RUST. Anywhere. Every part is painted or finished properly. The top is removable. Bolted in the front with clips in the rear. Takes less than 3 minutes to remove. (2 bolts) Top is the original steel roof with rear glass. (Etched with ghost flames) interior is 2 racing buckets with 6 point harnesses, full carpet, custom door panels, stereo with subs in rear (radio works, subs do not),B & M ratchet floor shifter for the auto trans, lockout switch for the nitrous and a line loc button in the shift knob. Most dash gauges are not connected, voltage gauge works as does the huge tachometer, fuel pressure gauge and the oil pressure and temp gauges. Grant type wood rimmed steering wheel. Truck is equipped with power steering and brakes. There is no air conditioning or heat.

Paint finish is glass smooth, looks great but is not perfect. Small dents on drivers side rear of cab and front of bed. Each is about the size of a quarter. The doors open with a push button. There are no door handles. Inside the bed is finished with a platform that incorporates the battery, fuel cell, nitrous tank, and storage. A custom tonneau cover with the Chevy Bowtie covers the bed. There are strobe lights in the bed and grille area for those cruise nights or shows. Under hood is also fully detailed with chrome fasteners or caps, glossy paint on the inner wheelwells and hinges, every item polished or painted.

OK, now my favorite part. 383 Stroker small block V8. With nitrous. Have not had it on a dyno. I can if it is important to you before you buy it. Runs perfect. Starts every time on the first try. Sounds great. Truck is stupid fast. Trans can be shifted manually or leave it in drive. 12 Bolt posi rear. Drums in the back, discs up front. Headers and full welded dual exhaust that exits under the rear roll pan The powertrain was built for maximum power and reliability, normal maintenance is all that is required to keep it running well.

I am sure that you will be impressed with the looks and performance of this truck.  If you have any questions feel free to call. 267-994-8791

GM phasing out light-duty 1500-series vans

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

In the market for a fullsize van but don't need a heavy-duty model? You're in the minority, and you're also out of luck. That's because there are barely any more fullsize vans on the market with gross vehicle weight rating of less than 8,500 pounds, the threshold that separates light- and heavy-duty vans.
According to PickupTrucks.com, neither the Ford E-Series, Ram ProMaster, nor Mercedes-Benz Sprinter are available in light-duty versions. Few of the Ford Transit configurations are, either, and now General Motors is discontinuing production of the 1500-series Chevy Express and GMC Savana.
Apparently light-duty versions accounted for just 23 percent of Express sales and only 7 percent of Savanas. Add to that the fact that these 1500 versions were the only ones using the old generation of engines and suspension, and that the Wentzville plant near St. Louis, Missouri, is trying to make room for the next Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups, and the fate of the light-duty GM van was sealed.

2015 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL hit the floor at LA

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

The middle child of General Motors' trio of truck-based SUVs, the GMC Yukon and long-wheelbase Yukon XL, received their auto show debut at today's 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Showing off a bigger, bolder look, particularly on its Denali trim, the Yukon sports prominent chrome grille instantly identifies GMC's new top-end SUV.
The Yukon is will come to market with a pair of engines. The base 5.3-liter V8 pumps out 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, while the higher-end models benefit from the same direct-injected, 6.2-liter V8 as the Escalade. That engine makes 420 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, with fuel economy seeing a likely boost thanks to an active fuel management system. Like the Tahoe, Suburban and Escalade, the Yukon takes advantage of a six-speed, column-mounted automatic transmission.
The cabin has seen significant upgrades in terms of materials and technology, with an eight-inch touchscreen display and IntelliLink standard in both Yukon and Yukon Denali. Fold-flat second and third-row seats come standard, while a power option is available, as well. Other techy features include active noise cancellation and standard Bose stereos.

GM also sheds parts from its pickups to boost payload ratings

Thu, 31 Jul 2014

The row between Ford and Ram over who boasts the best-in-class tow rating for heavy duty pickups has revealed a number of things. Chief among them is a report that Ford removes items like the spare tire, jack, radio and center console from its vehicles in a bid to lower its base curb weight and therefore keep the truck's gross vehicle weight rating down.
For those that need a refresher, GVWR is the vehicle's curb weight plus its maximum payload. A lower GVWR allows Ford to station its F-450 among the so-called Class III pickups, despite the fact that internally, it has the makings of a more brutish Class IV truck.
Ford explains away these deletions, saying a customer could order their vehicle in such a manner. It has also come to light that Ford is not the only automaker to engage in such practices.
