Up for auction I have a 1971 Ford Torino GT with 57,764 actual miles. Features include power steering and power disc brakes. The car originally came with 351C4V and 4 speed but now has a 4294V and C-6 automatic. The engine appears to be from around 1969 or 1970 and runs and sounds good. The only rust that I've found in the car is a spot in the right lower corner of the cowl (see picture). The interior is in great condition with no cracks or tears. The car has stainless steel brake lines and new rotors, pads, and calipers on the front and the rear brakes and wheel cylinders have also been replaced. The grille and tail light assembly are in great shape and the bumpers are also in good condition with some pitting on the rear bumper. As you can see from pictures, the car needs paint. It also needs some exhaust work. This is a very solid car and has spent most of its 42 years inside.
A $500 deposit, via Paypal, is required within two (2) days of the auction's close. The remaining balance will be due at time of pick up and the vehicle must be paid in full before the buyer can take possession. I will only accept CASH for the remaining balance. Buyer is responsible for pick up/shipping of the vehicle. Please look carefully at all pictures in the listing and ask if there's anything else you'd like to see. Message on here or call (540) 325-7608 with any questions. Please be sure before placing a bid. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! |

2015 Ford Mustang option prices gallop onto the web
Tue, 22 Apr 2014The 2015 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated cars of the year, despite the fact that production hasn't yet begun. What's a pony car fan to do? It turns out that Ford already has pricing and options information about the vehicle in its dealer ordering system. A few enterprising folks have snapped some pictures from it and have posted them online. You might not be able to drive your car yet, but you can at least see what it might cost.
At the moment, Ford appears to be splitting the Mustang into five models - 3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter EcoBoost, GT with the 5.0-liter V8, 50th Anniversary and SVT. There are 10 available paint colors, 2 of which require an extra outlay. Triple Yellow is $495, and Ruby Red Tint is $395. Regardless of model, navigation goes for $795, and reverse parking assist is $295.
For both the EcoBoost and GT, the six-speed automatic tacks an extra $1,195 to the sticker, and adaptive cruise control is the same price. The GT also has a limited-slip 3.55 rear end for $395 and a GT Performance package for $2,495. Recaro leather seats add an extra $1,595. For the EcoBoost, there's something called EcoBoost Performance package for $1,995. The system doesn't say what the packages include.
Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
Ford ST Octane Academy [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014
The ST school is about more than just handbrake turns, hot laps, and sliding into parking spaces.
I felt like such a rock star. On my second pass around the UrbanCross course (read: fancy autocross) at the Ford ST Octane Academy, I absolutely nailed the exit, sliding the bright-yellow Focus ST sideways into a box the size of a parking space, all four wheels in line.
