1971 Ford Torino Gt 302 2 Dr Project Barn Parts Runs And Drives! on 2040-cars
New London, Wisconsin, United States
I am selling my 1971 Ford Torino GT that I have owned for over 15 years. I purchased the car from the original owner. The car has sat in a shed since 2001. It does run and drive! This is a project car that needs work! It has had miscellaneous work done to it. It needs work! This would make someone a great project car! It has the original 302 ci engine with a 2 barrel carburetor. In the year 2000 - Hooker Headers and 3” exhaust were installed. The engine fires up and runs strong. It does need a battery! It is an automatic transmission with a Hurst Slap Shift Shifter. Brakes were worked on in the year 2000 – but they are currently very weak (leaky line.?.) and needs to be addressed before driving it! This car has had panels replaced (due to rust) in the floor pans, quarters and fenders - still needs some panel repair in spots. This car is not perfect by any means and would need attention before being road worthy. It does need a drivers side lower left quarter panel. The car is very complete and has about everything on it! I just do not have the time to finish this project - I do not want to see it sitting around anymore... -302 ci engine w/2 barrel carb (factory) -Automatic transmission (factory) - Hurst Slap Shift shifter - Hooker Headers (installed in 2000 – less than 20 miles on
them) - 3” dual exhaust (installed in 2000 – less than 20 miles on
them) - 2 hoods (1 with hood scoop and also the factory hood!) - All wiring, lights, etc. in working condition - Bucket seats (front need new covers) - Rear seat is in great condition with no tears - All glass is in great condition! - All Chrome pieces are on the car! - Interior is in decent condition and is not missing anything (except radio) *This car would make someone a great project car and could really be a head turner if done right! It will need work before it can be road worthy... *Car is located in New London, Wisconsin. It can be seen at anytime (by appointment). I am the owner of the vehicle - I currently live in Minnesota. I can arrange someone to meet you at the location the car is currently at (family farm) and show it to you (before the auction ends).... *Car needs to be paid for within 7 days (payapl, Money order, etc...) *Car needs to be picked up at earliest convenience... Any questions - send me a message and I will respond ASAP! |

2015 Ford Mustang invades SEMA, led by King Cobra
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Ford showcased more than a dozen customized 2015 Mustangs at its sprawling 20,000-square foot display this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center as the iconic pony car's 50th anniversary celebration continued at the SEMA Show.
While Mustangs are always a hot commodity at SEMA, the new generation brought increased attention from the aftermarket, as builders like Galpin Auto Sports, Richard Petty's Garage and Vaughn Gittin Jr. offered their takes on the new 'Stang.
The extensive display included a range of Mustangs from mild to wild, with everything from a 600-plus horsepower King Cobra pictured at the top, to paint-and-wheel packages. The new regal Cobra, which we spied early in our SEMA adventure this year, may not be the replacement for the Cobra Jet as we speculated, but it does seem to point the way forward for the next iteration of a supreme Ford dragster. Fat drag slicks out back make it's reason for being abundantly clear, and for tells us that modded car is good for a 10.97-second quarter-mile run.
The fascinating forgotten civil defense history of Mister Softee trucks
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Hemmings came across an interesting article from the Throwin' Wrenches blog about the intersection of ice cream, cars and civic duty in America's late 1950s. In particular, it focuses on the Mister Softee trucks, which criss-crossed neighborhoods of the eastern US serving ice cream. Looking past the ultra-durable vehicles used - heavy-duty Ford-based chassis, for what it's worth - the article delves into some deeper national-security territory.
See, Mister Softee truck owners were voluntary members of the Civil Defense, thanks to all the useful stuff (potable water, generators, freezers and fridges) that the machines carried with them for serving ice cream. Click over to Throwin' Wrenches for the full run down of how Mister Softee would have stepped in to help fight if the Cold War ever turned a little hotter.
Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
