Up for sale a RARE 1995 Thunderbird 5-Speed!

The Thunderbird SuperCoupe ( Super Coupe ) ( SC ) is one Ford's best kept secrets.

The Thunderbird merges luxury and muscle into a single car.  DON'T miss your opportunity.  Finding a SuperCoupe can be difficult enough; a stick-shift model will soon be impossible.  LIMITED PRODUCTION NUMBERS!!! Don't drive a Mustang like everyone else, have something truly unique!

Only 574 5-Speeds made in 1995, the rarest year.

Rare electric-current red paint, and NO SUNROOF.  (Rare Also!)

TITLE IN HAND

THE GOOD:

Great interior, (minor imperfections at the top of the rear seats from sun damage, and bottom of the driver's seat needs to be re-sewn)

No Sunroof (from what I hear, that's rare)

Electric Current Red (also rare)

Aftermarket radio/cd player

Harmonic balancer has new rubber on dampers

5-Speed (1/574)

3% (I think) pulley (off of a 89-93 SC) I put the 89-93 SC belt on it and it fits well.  More boost, 15 psi

New headlights (bulbs and headlights themselves)

Aftermarket Hella fogs (hardwired to be on with lowbeams)

New belts

Changed oil and tranny fluid

NOT SO GOOD:

Odometer is broken, it indicates 99,108. The previous owner said to add about 30,000. I looked at the vehicles history and remember thinking that is plausible.

Fuel pressure gauge surges. Heard it can be bad connection or a bad instrument voltage regulator. Oil is fine, consistent levels and not being burned.

Paint has some imperfections, but expected for the original paint of a 17 year old vehicle. Only fading is on the rear bumper

Minor dent on front of hood

Second gear needs synchos, but I've learned to drive it pretty easily. Down shifting is difficult, but doable.

Subaru Legacy pitted against Roadkill project cars

Fri, 05 Sep 2014

There's an evergreen debate among auto enthusiasts about whether they would prefer to have the latest and greatest car of today or a certified classic from yesteryear. What if you had to further define that, though, and the choice was between a brand new 2015 Subaru Legacy or a turbocharged Datsun 240Z with a hatch that wouldn't close? Roadkill aimed to find out that and more in one of its best videos to date.
According to the hosts, Subaru came to them, handed over some money and challenged Roadkill's project cars against its latest Legacy. The result is every bit as good (or better) than any automotive-themed show you could find on television.
Things start simple with a figure-eight race in a rodeo arena with the Subaru taking on Roadkill's 1968 Ford Ranchero, originally built for ice racing. From there the Legacy races a 1968 Dodge Charger with no windows around and off-road rally stage. Finally, the Subie goes head-to-head against the Rotsun, the aforementioned turbocharged 240Z, through an abandoned neighborhood. Plus, there's a bonus drag race challenging them all.

Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.

Ford bringing adaptive steering to the masses [w/video]

Thu, 29 May 2014

Within the next year, Ford will offer a brand-new adaptive steering system (unimaginatively dubbed "Ford Adaptive Steering"), and this week, the automaker invited us out to its proving grounds in Dearborn, MI to get a taste for how its new setup works. In function, Ford's system doesn't greatly differ from the majority of other adaptive steering units already on the market from companies like Audi or BMW, but consider this: Ford will be the first non-luxury automaker to offer this technology, and uniquely, the whole system fits inside the car's steering wheel.
Ford's engineers have worked hard to create a system that can be tacked on to the company's full lineup of cars, trucks and utility vehicles, and says that the adaptive steering will be uniquely tuned for each specific vehicle. The automaker will not confirm exactly which vehicle will launch with this technology, but for the purpose of our preview, we tested the technology in a 2014 Fusion - a vehicle with already-good behind-the-wheel feel, one that the company says best demonstrates its current steering efforts.
