This rare, "numbers matching", 1956 has it's original 312 (225 horsepower) optional V8 and "Fordomatic" automatic transmission.

It was professionally "body off" restored in the early 90's and received a national 1st place award in 1995 (see pictures). We have the original bill of sale dated 6/11/56 from a dealership in Omaha Nebraska. From Omaha it went to Southern California for a number of years and then moved to Florida.

In the late 90's it was purchased by Steve Frano (president of the Chicago T-Bird club) and moved up here. Steve then sold it to us in 2002 with a little over 20,000 miles on the clock.
We have happily summer cruised this beauty over the past twelve years! It is always stored in a climate controlled environment. Every Spring it starts right up and has continued to be an extremely reliable "head-turner". Just look at the pictures!

This baby rides like a dream with power steering and brakes. It has the correct white soft top and brown/white interior.
Hubcaps are the optional, simulated, "wire-wheel" style which really adds to its looks.
It is very mechanically sound save for a few leaks from the 20+ year old engine/transmission gaskets.

The only repairs it has needed (over the past 12-years) is a couple of new batteries and a set of correct, Coker, Firestone tires. It can use a new set of visors (as the inside foam has deteriorated) and some new weatherstripping for the upper window area. Paint is very good save for a blemish on the lower, rear, driver-side, rocker panel. We have a partial gallon of matching paint (see pictures) for any future touch-ups that may arise. Radio is original but non-working. Additional photos can be sent upon request and I'm always available to answer any questions.

The best part about this car is it is "investment grade" and will only go up in value due to the desirability of it's rare "pastel" color (which has seemed to become more and more attractive over the years).
Don't miss this opportunity to own a true American classic!!!!

Spy shooter claims proof of upcoming aluminum Ford F-Series Super Duty

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

Ford has already confirmed that the 2015 F-150 (pictured above) was just the beginning for its more extensive use of aluminum. CEO Alan Mulally said it himself during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. We've even already seen the future Raptor testing with an aluminum body. But a recent discovery from an intrepid spy photographer might indicate that the lightweight metal is coming to the Blue Oval's Super Duty pickups in their upcoming generation, as well.
According to Automotive News, a spy shooter in Colorado spotted a prototype for the next-gen F-350 testing. He happened to have a magnet on hand and got close enough to check the truck out. When he held it up to the metal in the bed, it didn't stick, which signaled to him a switch from steel to aluminum.
Obviously, this claim raises some questions. Given that it was a test vehicle, one possibility is that the Blue Oval is just evaluating the feasibility of switching to aluminum for the Super Duty trucks, not necessarily committed to it yet. Ford has been testing it quite exhaustively, after all. In fact, much of the rest of the truck in question was covered in camouflage, so it's possible that the magnet failed to work along the rest of the body not because it was aluminum, but because it wasn't powerful enough to get through the disguising material. Thus, the lightweight metal's use could be far less substantial than on the new F-150. Still, it was a clever idea for the cameraman to check things out and might have given us the first hint about brand's next heavy-duty models.

2015 Ford Mustang prototype spotted on the street

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

Our trusty spy photographers have snapped the first photos of the 2015 Ford Mustang prototype out on public streets. With nearly every square inch of the machine covered in heavy camouflage, it's difficult to discern details, but we can see smallish horizontal headlamps at work in the coupe's nose. Ford has made it clear that modern lighting technology will allow the company to get away from large, expensive headlamp arrays in the near future, and the 2015 Mustang may very well be the first of the automaker's products to bow with the new tech. The philosophy was first displayed on the very attractive Evos Concept.
The extensive cladding doesn't extend all the way to the prototype's rockers in the instance, giving us a look at the heavily-sculpted sills. Overall, this test car looks considerably smaller than the current generation Mustang, and elements like a short front overhang and beefy dual-piston calipers give us plenty of hope for the future model. Of course, reports that the 2015 Mustang will bow with an independent rear suspension and EcoBoost power certainly don't hurt our feelings, either.

2014 Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Ford Mustang

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

If you're a fan of Ford racing history, a Mustang worshiper or even just an avid follower of our yearly SEMA coverage, you may have heard the back story on the Race Red Mustang you see above. Back in 1964, Holman & Moody was tapped by the English Alan Mann Racing Team to race-prep three Mustangs for competition in the incredibly arduous 4,000-mile Tour de France Automobile rally. Competing mainly against Jaguar MkII saloons over 10 days and 17 stages, the H&M Mustangs took the top two places in the Touring class and the first-ever racing win for Ford's pony car.
Though the history of that first Mustang win hasn't been incredibly well known here in the States, the subsequent decades have seen plenty of racy versions of the car come and go. Last year at the SEMA show, we covered the brief debut of this living tribute to that piece of racing lore, the Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Mustang.
This limited-edition Mustang represents a kind of new venture for H&M, as the legendary racing shop has spent the last few decades earning its keep largely by restoring vintage racing cars. The urge to get back into the world of Ford and Mustang was powerful, however, what with the car's 50th anniversary looming and the current generation of 'Stang just about out the door.
