2002 Ford Taurus Se 4dr 79426 Orig Miles No Reserves on 2040-cars
Bronx, New York, United States
|
Up for auction is my 2002 Ford Taurus. 79426 original miles, Former city vehicle, 4 door, white exterior, grey fabric interior, power steering, power brakes, power locks, power windows, A/C, am/fm radio. I have a clean nys title in my name. All glass is good & not broken & go up & down properly. All the lights work as does the a/c but it blows cool & will need some freon. The city bought the car brand new & used it as one of their fleet vehicles. They removed the city stickers & scratched the paint, so I sanded down where the stickers were & covered it with some white primer sealer paint to prevent it from rusting. There is no major rust on the car but some minor scratches & dings. The Car starts right up & runs good with a boost or a good battery as the one that came in the car will not hold a charge for more than 2 hours. There is a about 3 inch hole in the drivers side front floor that will need to be patched (I have the floor mat over it right now) & there is a power steering leak somewhere in the line as I see power steering fluid on the ground after the car is moved & sometimes hear when it needs some.
All in all for the condition, year, mileage & price, it would make a great car. the interior & exterior is a little dirty as you can see from the pics & will need a good cleaning. I was going to fix the car & sell it for more but as you can see from some of the pics, we had a hard & long winter here & the weight of the snow caved in the roofs on my garage & shed. Under the cover under the shed is a 1964 chevy Impala convertible & i need to get that out to fix the roof & to fix the convertible to get it ready for summer so a few of my cars will have to go. Please check back as I will also be listing a 2005 Ford Explorer with 72791 miles, 1995 Dodge van with 86660 miles, 2001 Chevy cab & 1/2 silverado pickup, 1999 ford ranger cab & 1/2 pickup, 1969 Buick skylark 2dr, 1965 Chevy impala convertible project, 1964 impala 4dr project & a 1962 running 4dr impala project. You are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look at any of my vehicles if you are in or near the Hunts Point area in the Bronx. Vehicles are sold as is where is. there are no guaranties or warranties on these vehicles. I will not ship the vehicles as shipping is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. I will assist with loading of vehicles onto your truck or trailer on this end. There is a 100.00 deposit via paypal due within 24 hrs after the auction end (no exceptions) I read the book computers for dummies & cound not figure it out, but i was still able to set up an account & pay for items on line, so if i can do it, im sure that youre a little smarter than I am. Please ask any & all questions as soon as possible to give me time to check & get back to you. SCAMMERS::: I will not cash your or your clients check & send you back the balance. If you want the car for your client, then you buy it & sell it to them. 100 dollar deposit due via paypal & the balance can be paid by check or money order or cash at pick up. ALL checks including certified & cashier checks must first clear MY bank before the release of the vehicle or the paperwork. Im sorry if your truck happens to be in my area before the check clears my bank. Once the car is paid in full, you can have it shipped to whatever state or country that you want as you the winning bidder will have to pay for all shipping costs. |

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers
Fri, 20 Dec 2013Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.
Now you can 3D print your favorite new Ford
Fri, Jun 12 2015Ford is letting people build their own cars, offering digital files so people can print 3D versions of their favorite models. This is way cooler than any old Matchbox or Hot Wheels toy. Ford this week started offering printable files for the F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350R, Focus ST and Fiesta ST. Folks can order the 3D models in 1:32 scale in plastic (that'd make the mighty large pickup truck about eight inches long) but the digital files let users tweak the scale to the their liking. Once people have the digital files, they can print out their own miniature versions of the cars, made out of soft plastics, sandstone, and even some metals. Ford says it expects demand for such files to grow as sales numbers for desktop 3D printers surges to 1 million units in 2018. That's up from about 44,000 last year. Ford already offers digital files for its company logo, the 1.0-liter engine block, and two older Mustang models. But these new models take this to a totally different scale. Check out Ford's press release below. PRINT YOUR FAVORITE FORD VEHICLE AT HOME: FORD FIRST AUTOMAKER TO OPEN ONE-STOP 3D SHOP ONLINE - Consumers can now download digital images and 3D-printable files of Ford vehicles at the first-ever automaker-licensed, one-stop 3D shop online - The Ford 3D Store offers printable files of F-150 Raptor, Shelby GT350R, Focus ST and Fiesta ST; more models will become available later - Online store is powered by TurboSquid.com, the leader in providing automotive digital imaging and 3D-printable files Want to 3D-print a Shelby GT350R at home? Or would you prefer to simply purchase an F-150 Raptor 3D digital image for a presentation? How about both? Ford fans can now download digital images for Ford vehicles at the first-ever, automaker-authorized one-stop online store for 3D-printable vehicle files. The Ford 3D Store, 3d.ford.com, allows customers to use advanced technology to make their own models of Ford vehicles of the size and material they desire, or simply opt to purchase a 3D digital file from a growing library of more than 1,000 Ford images. "3D printing at home is a growing trend, and it makes sense for us to offer our customers a chance to make their own 3D Ford models," said Mark Bentley, licensing manager, Ford Global Brand Licensing.
Junkyard Gem: 1993 Mercury Topaz GS Sedan
Sat, Aug 13 2022As long as the Mercury brand existed — a period spanning the 1939 through 2011 model years — nearly every Mercury sold in the United States was more or less a redecorated Ford model. The Torino had its Montego sibling, the Crown Victoria had the Grand Marquis, the Cougar was based on everything from the Mustang to the Mondeo, and so on. Naturally, when the folks in Dearborn developed the Ford Tempo compact, a Mercury version had to be created. This was the Topaz, with the official launch of both cars taking place on the deck of the aircraft carrier often referred to as the USS Decrepit. You can't make this stuff up! The Tempo/Topaz, also known as the Tempaz, has largely faded from our collective automotive memory by now, since it broke no significant new engineering or styling ground (this story would be much different if Ford had only put the amazing straight-eight "T-Drive" Tempaz powertrain into production) and didn't have any endearing features other than being a cheap domestic competitor to the Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra. Still, close to 3 million Tempazes left North American Ford and Lincoln-Mercury showrooms during the 1984-1994 period. As you'd expect, most of these disposable cars disappeared from both the street and the car graveyard long ago. It takes a very special Tempaz for me to break out my camera while I'm patrolling my local wrecking yards; generally, this means an ultra-rare all-wheel-drive version or at least a very early model in super-clean condition. Today's Junkyard Gem is neither, but I took one look at this spectacular Bordello Red crypto-velour-and-slippery-plastic interior and recognized that this was no ordinary junkyard Mercury. It appears that Mercury had dropped the idea of clever names for base-grade seat fabrics by the time of the Topaz, referring to this stuff as just "cloth" in all the brochures I could find. That's too bad, because Mercurys had cool names for upholstery (e.g., Chromatex) in the old days. The interior is in very good condition but the steering wheel shows substantial wear, so I think this is a high-mile Topaz that got meticulous care from its owner or owners. Ford used five-digit odometers on these cars until the end of production, however, so we'll never know if this reading indicates 65,404 miles or 365,404 miles. The body is very straight, but there's some nasty corrosion behind the right front wheelwell.
