This truck, per Auto-Chek, is a well-cared for, one-owner vehicle. It runs and drives, in my opinion, like it rolled off the showroom floor. I’ve driven many trucks, small and large, but this one is really remarkable in the way it operates mechanically. You turn the key, it starts right up. You put it in gear and it shifts normally, as you’d expect. The brakes are to the top and it steers correctly, without the noise you’d expect from a vehicle this age. The body, minus a couple of nicks, is in tip-top condition. There is a small ding above the left-rear tail light that is visible in one of the pictures. The interior is fresh and crisp. I believe the new owner will enjoy getting into this truck every day and driving it to work. We believe all options in this truck are working correctly. If you’re looking for a small pickup truck, this one is ready for immediate daily use. We invite all interested parties to come down and inspect it and take it for a test drive.

PLEASE BE SURE TO TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT ALL OF THE PICTURES. ZOOM IN, IF NECESSARY. WE WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU SEE EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE BIDDING ON.

The vehicle must be paid for within 48 hours after the end of the auction in cash or by wire transfer!!

This is an as-is vehicle, which means that once you buy it, you own it with all faults (known or unknown).

This is a no-reserve auction, which means that the last highest bidder when the auction is over will win the car. Every time you bid on the car keep in mind that you have an opportunity to be the owner, so your bid means something. We encourage all bidders to stop out, personally examine the car and drive it for themselves. If you can’t personally make it out to check out this vehicle, simply find a local mechanic to look at the vehicle and give you a personal report on the condition. We need the car paid for within 48 hours, as stated above, either by cash or wire transfer, after the auction is over. We would like the car picked up from our lot within 7 days of auction ending. There will be a $100 paperwork fee added on to the final sale price of the vehicle. If you need a 30-day tag, it’s $18.50. We handle the transfer of the title. We will also have to collect the tax for your county if you live in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, South Carolina or Washington. We will not pay any shipping fees, but we would be glad to assist your shipper in picking up your vehicle. If you have any questions, call Stan at 216-598-7011. Good luck bidding!

Detroit automakers gain market share simultaneously for first time in 20 years

Wed, 01 May 2013

While monthly sales figures might be an easy way of tracking the progression of the auto industry and individual automakers, looking at market share might be more indicative of how each company is actually standing up against its competitors. For the Detroit Three automakers, they have collectively lost almost 30 percent of the market over the last 20 years, but now, for the first time since 1993, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler have each posted market share gains at the same time.
According to Automotive News, Ford's share increased the most by 0.7 percent, GM was up 0.5 percent and Chrysler rose marginally by 0.2 percent, giving the Detroit automakers a total market share of 45.6 percent. As for the Japan's Big Three, the article reports that Toyota is up by 0.7 percent, Nissan is down the same amount and Honda has seen "little change."

Weekly Recap: Auto execs face life in prison for recall delays under proposed legislation

Sat, 09 Aug 2014

The stiff punishments are part of broader transportation legislation, but clearly McCaskill has automakers in her sights.
Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill threw down the gauntlet this week, proposing a bill that could send auto executives to prison for life if they were found to have delayed a recall. She also wants to eliminate the limit for fines for auto safety violations, which are currently capped at $35 million.

J Mays' legacy

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

Mays is by far not the first designer to use heritage design cues in his work.
The announcement that J Mays will be leaving his chief creative officer role at Ford Motor Company on January 1 ends a 13-year run in one of the industry's top design roles. While best known for having a hand in reborn classics like the Volkswagen New Beetle, Ford Mustang and Thunderbird (above), Mays' legacy is more complicated and nuanced than being considered the father of what is known as "retrofuturism".
