This is my daily driver, I would trust to drive it anywhere.  I have put a ton of time and money into this little truck to make it a one of a kind.  Frame, spring hangers and shackles are solid.

The following parts are less than a year old:

exhaust
all 4 shocks
alternator
power steering pump
front wheel bearing
rear brakes/hardware/wheel cylinders
rear wheel bearings and seals
emergency brake cables
front ceramic pads with drilled and slotted rotors
sway bar end links
K&N air filter
Vision warrior 375 wheels
BFG Rugged Terrain tires
Ignition wires and platinum 4 spark plugs
Fuel filter
PCV valve
Belt
Electric Fan with adjustable temp controller
Timing chain tensioners replaced by previous owner (common 4.0L problem)

All fluids changed including coolant, power steering, transmission filter and flush, front and rear differentials and oil/filter every 3500 miles

The interior has been completely redone including:

New carpet
POWER HEATED LEATHER SEATS from an explorer limited
Full length center console from an explorer limited
lighted visors with mirrors from an explorer limited
AUTOMATIC CLIMATE CONTROL from an explorer limited (this took a ton of work and research since rangers don't have this option.  It was well worth it in my opinion)
OVERHEAD CONSOLE with temp and compass display
AUTO DIMMING REAR VIEW MIRROR
AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS
CLIMATE AND RADIO CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL
Aftermarket in dash touchscreen GPS navigation system with backup camera, bluetooth phone and audio

This truck runs/drives great.  The engine is smooth and the transmission shifts perfectly.  It does not have any mechanical problems that I know of.  The only rust on the truck is a little on the rear bumper which can easily be repainted.  Frame and spring shackles are in good condition.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to see the truck in person.  I may end the auction early if i sell it locally.

FCA UConnect fiasco could set over-the-air updates back years

Fri, Feb 16 2018

Since cars have become more software dependent, most major automakers have been inching toward enabling over-the-air updates to keep vehicle electronics, ranging from infotainment systems to safety features, current. But there are only two car companies — Fiat Chrysler and Ford —± currently doing OTA updates, and on a limited basis. GM CEO Mary Barra announced last summer that the automaker will launch a new EV architecture and infotainment system capable of over-the-air updates "before 2020." The one exception, per usual, is Tesla. Since the release of the Model S almost six years ago, the maverick EV automaker has made routine OTA software updates a core part of its vehicle platforms and value proposition, and has sent out updates for everything from adjusting ride height to enabling Autopilot, largely without incident. When I've asked automakers why they can't do the same thing, I've heard reasons ranging from running afoul of their dealers (and archiac regulation) to security concerns. Automakers like Ford and General Motors say they want to act like tech companies, which routinely send out OTA updates for a wide range of devices, but overall the car industry still moves at a very cautious snail's pace. And when automakers do try to move faster and take more risks — unlike with a smartphone update, which people bitch about but live with — the consequences can be significant when things go wrong. That's the case with Fiat Chrysler America and its recent public-relations nightmare when an OTA update went awry. The update went out at the end of last week for the Uconnect system in late-model vehicles, and it made head units go into a near continuous reboot, which caused owners to not only lose access to entertainment features, but also critical functions like emergency assistance. Almost immediately, owners took to Twitter to express outrage, and FCA was caught flatfooted. A tweet went out on Monday on the UconnectCares Twitter account that read, "Certain 2017 & 2018 Uconnect systems may experience a reboot every 45-60 seconds. Our Engineering teams are investigating the cause and working towards a resolution.

Crowdsource funding push on to save historic Ford buildings

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Detroit has no shortage of old, abandoned buildings, both within the city and in the surrounding communities. Few, though, have the historical significance of the old Ford Highland Park facility. Home to the very first moving assembly line, Highland Park was designed by the legendary Albert Kahn, and was one of the homes of the Model T.
Now, the Woodward Avenue Action Association is attempting to buy both the 40,000-square-foot admin building, which is located off the historic Woodward Avenue, and an 8,000-square-foot garage. The WAAA's goal is to convert the buildings into an automotive heritage center. The Detroit News spoke to the interim director of the WAAA, Deborah Schutt, who commented, "[Metro Detroit has] not been very good at telling our own story. So we've decided, let's pull everything together and tell our story."
The WAAA made an offer of $550,000 to buy the two buildings, and has $400,000 from the Michigan Department of Transportation and another $15,000 from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. It's trying to raise a further $125,000 through crowd-sourcing, starting a campaign called "Five Dollars A Day," after old Hank Ford's $5-per-day wage for line workers.

Americans will get a four-cylinder Ford Mustang after all? [w/poll]

Sat, 09 Mar 2013

Ask and you shall receive. Remember that previous report suggesting that the 2015 Ford Mustang getting a four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, and that it would be sold in Europe only and not the United States? Well, according to Road & Track, the rumor is only partially true - The Mustang will get the engine, but it is indeed coming to America.
Additionally, according to RT, the 3.7-liter V6 will continue to serve as the base engine, and since it offers up a stout 305 horsepower in its current form, it's likely that the 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost will produce a bit more than that. At the top of the range, the Mustang GT will continue to soldier on with a V8 engine, which should continue to send over 400 horsepower to the rear wheels.
Finally, while we agree 100 percent with RT's heartfelt request for a paddle-shift automatic, we certainly expect that the EcoBoost 'Stang will be offered with a manual transmission as standard equipment. This is a Mustang, after all...
