Don't let the rest of the rat-rodders fool ya, along with the impossibility of finding a good cab to work with at a price that don't make your eyes bleed the amount of work involved is substantial. so here is my pitch the only reason i can find why you couldn't use a newer chassis is because the door jambs are exposed. so here is the fix take a vehicle shown here that's not going to break the bank and take the inner and outer fenders off, using only the outer fender bolt back on cut in stress cuts and roll the outer fender into the firewall bolting right at the seams of the wall, thus creating a hidden door jamb leaving a wide open engine bay to install the biggest fully blown big block you can find or a beautiful flat head for that added touch. So if your looking for a great father son or daughter project that they can purchase to build their own rod here it is at salvage price. Are you Ford's next Bullitt Mustang? [w/poll]
Thu, 27 Mar 2014Ford has a long history of offering special editions of its legendary Mustang. One of the most vaunted of those trim packages, though, has only been offered twice. The first time was in 2001, and then again in 2008. Yes, we're talking about the Bullitt.
Named for the infamous Dark Highland Green Mustang Fastback driven by Steve McQueen in the 1968 cop melodrama Bullitt, the car was famous for not just its pilot, but the high-speed chase it took part in during the movie. Now, we think we have images of the next Bullitt.
According to our spy photographers, the paint is a "dead-ringer" for the Dark Highland Green that has signified these special edition Mustangs. While we're inclined to agree, it's also worth pointing out that this shade looks very similar to one of the 2015's other new colors, Guard. We've yet to see one on the road (let alone in such dreary conditions), so it's tough to say for certain.
2015 Ford Mustang production to begin on July 14? Not quite, says Ford
Thu, 10 Jul 2014Mustang6g.com believes that it has unlocked start date for 2015 Ford Mustang production citing a Ford dealer communiqué. According to the report, job one on the 2015 hardtop will allegedly start in just a few days, on July 14, although units that are known as "OK to Buy" won't enter production until September 9. The cars built between those dates are most likely final pre-production cars for the executive test fleet, and will likely include the cars we'll be driving at the media launch.
Sun worshippers, meanwhile, would seem to have a longer wait. Job one on the droptop supposedly isn't slated to start until September 14, with production models starting on October 27. As is the case with the hardtop, these final pre-pros are for the execs and media to test, while actual dealer orders will come from vehicles made after the October date.
After speaking to Ford, though, we wouldn't put a great deal of stock in those dates as reported. We reached out to Said Deep, Ford's North American Product Communications Manager.
Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?

The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.
