Unfortunatly I have to sell my 1959 Ranchero. Has a small block 302 with C4 tranny. The Ranchero was running great until the first rain came. Apparently Ford had a design flaw, when water gets into the bed, it drains into spare tire well and the drains to the top of the gas tank where it sit with no where to go. so long story short..the gas tank was rusted out and a bunch of water go into the tank. they do sell repops but was not willing to spend 600+ on a new tank (490 for tank and 180 oversize shipping). So I was in the process of putting in a new Jaz fuel cell. I flushed out fuel lines and got a new fuel pump. I'm also getting a new upper radiator hose, came with wrong size. Has new Edelbrock carb, also has Mallory electronic ignition distributer and Mallory ignition box. Has headers with dual exhaust and glass packs. It will come with clean uncut dash and a brand new power brake kit and new front shocks and new rear air shocks, also have an extra grill and a bunch of other new parts to go with. It does have rear quarter panel rust on both sides but I do have new replaement panels for both sides and I will also include rear skirts. Has newer Coker tires and has been lowered already. Its not in the pics but I do have the the bed floor. The only thing the Ranchero needs is the fuel cell to be hooked up, basically need to make the hold down straps add gas and go. again, it was running great before water got into gas tank drove to modesto and stockton a few times no problem. Only reason for selling is because I need more down payment funds for a house. Again..this was a great runner before water got into tank. I will still continue to work on when I can until end of auction but my time is a bit limited. I should have fuel pump and radiator hose installed and I will work on getting some hold down straps done for the gas tank. PLEASE PLEASE feel free to ask questions!!!

Ford Fiesta ST GRC Racecar is hungry for podiums in 2013

Thu, 07 Feb 2013

As we reported earlier, the Chicago showing of this plucky Ford Fiesta ST GRC racer points to bigger and brighter days for Global RallyCross. For the upcoming season, you can expect to see Ken Block and Tanner Foust both driving the Ford racecar, and if last season's results are any indication, you can anticipate quite a few podium appearances, as well.
The Fiesta seen here was built by the Swedes at OlsbergsMSE, and will be driven in anger by Foust in 2013. Modifications are, as you'd expect, extensive, and include an engine, exhaust and braking upgrades, a racing style short-throw shifter and a limited-slip differential. As you can see, the car has been fully stripped out and caged for maximum speed and safety, too.
Refresh your memories with the details of the car, in the press releases below. And if you head out to the Chicago Auto Show this year, don't forget to drop by the Ford stand to have a look.

Former Cadillac boss Butler takes Ford tech job

Tue, 07 Jan 2014

When Don Butler made the surprising decision to leave his post as Cadillac's VP of global strategic development, it was a surprise. Citing a desire to "recalibrate, reassess my priorities" in that August announcement, it wasn't entirely clear where Butler - a virtual General Motors lifer after spending nearly 30 years with the company - would end up. Turns out he took a trip to Dearborn.
Butler has taken a position in the newly created position of Executive Director of Connected Vehicles and Services at Ford, where he'll be responsible for the Blue Oval's global connectivity strategy. "Not only does Don understand the connected car landscape, but probably just as important, he understands customer expectations," said Raj Nair, who, as Group Vice President of Global Product Development, is Butler's new boss. "Having a leader with technology experience both inside and outside the industry is a rare combination - we're excited to have Don join our team."
As Ford has received its fair share of flak for the sometimes recalcitrant MyFord Touch infotainment system and its Sync voice-controls, it appears that Butler has his work cut out for him.

2014 Roush Stage 3 Mustang

Fri, 26 Jul 2013

Up until now, it's been some years since I managed to get behind the wheel of the hot Mustangs tuned by the folks at Roush Performance. My memories of those vehicles are fond, as the Roush up-fits usually make for better-driving examples of the iconic Ford pony, with better-tuned suspensions, excellent short-shift kits and, of course, huge additions of power. The wake-your-neighbors aural characteristics of these cars have been nothing short of outstanding, too.
But in the years since my last experience with the Roush formula, Ford's own development team has churned out some pretty potent 'Stangs. We currently live in a world where the Blue Oval will sell you a Mustang with 662 horsepower from the factory, and the recently departed Boss 302 remains one of the best Mustangs - and best sports coupes - the Autoblog crew has ever driven.
So with great-driving and hugely powerful Mustangs coming straight off the line at Ford's Flat Rock Assembly Plant, does the Roush package still offer that extra special something to make it stand out? I spent a week with a Stage 3 coupe to find out.
