Up for sale is a 1979 Ford Courier Pickup, or Mazda B2000 via Ford. It has the 2.0L 4 Cylinder, and optional 5 Speed transmission.

Story as I know it:
Man I purchased the truck from last year told me that his brother bought it brand new in 1978. He drove it for 4 years until he went into the Navy for 20 years. He passed away in 2009 and his brother inherited the truck. According to the old man, it sat in the barn for those 20 years and has 47,xxx original miles on it. I don't think that's the case, more like 147,xxx or 247,xxx. Its in good shape, but I don't have a car fax for it so I don't know. I would like to give him credit, but people tell wild stories.

The Goods:
New parts in the last 2 years:
Water Pump
Radiator
Head Gasket
Shaved head for perfection
New Ball Joints
New Shocks
New Battery
Front Brakes
Wheel Cylinders
Timing Chain
Not Lowered
ALL GLASS is perfect

The Bads:
Needs an alignment; it road walks quite a bit.
Exhaust leak
Malfunctioning choke; still starts and drives just fine, it just takes a few minutes to warm it up in the morning
Some rust in floor boards, not rusted through though. Also some rust on drivers front quarter panel.
Back of the bed on passenger side has the sheet metal pulled out from someone hooking their hitch under the bed and pulling it out.
The interior is a 6 or 7/10. Seat is ripped, dash has a crack, and floor mat is rough.
Needs heater core hoses refitted. It leaks once in a while.
Loose connection somewhere in dash lights, but they work if you wiggle them. Been that way since I bought it.

EVERY ISSUE IS LISTED HERE, and if you want more pictures I would be more than happy to email them to you.

All in all it is a good truck. It has been my daily driver for a year now. Clean Oregon title. Has an after market cd player mounted under the dash, the instrument bezel and original stereo is fully intact. Its no gem, but it runs and drives.Sitting on 18' Nissan Titan wheels that were cut and shaved to fit onto mini trucks. If the selling price goes above $1,500 they will be included. If lower than $1,500 only the stock wheels and hub caps will be included. Either way, you get the original steelies and hub caps.

Pay-pal or bank transfer only. That way everyone knows where there money is and its fully documented. Buyer assumes responsibility for transport picked up from my house.

ALSO there is some paint fading on the bed. I didn't want to leave that out.

Ford moving medium-duty F-Series production from Mexico to Ohio

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

A few more Ford trucks will be built in the US in the near future with news that production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will move from Mexico to Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. Ford hasn't confirmed a precise timeline for the move, but The Detroit News claims the Blue Oval will make the shift later this year or in early 2015.
As Ford spokesperson Mike Levine reminded us, back in 2011, Ford announced in an investor release that it would shift production "after the [Ohio] plant stops current production of the Ford E-Series vans." According to that release, the Ohio factory will also receive $128 million in upgrades to build the new trucks, plus the F53 motorhome chassis and F59 commercial chassis.

15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles

Tue, Mar 8 2022

Americans drive a lot. Collectively, we put, on average, more than 13,000 miles on our cars each year according to the U.S. Department of Transportation. Because of this, a vehicle's ability to travel long distances without major problems is a huge consideration when it comes time to purchase a new one. It's also worth remembering that keeping an older car on the road instead of trashing it and buying new can be considered an eco-friendly decision. After all, it takes a lot of resources to build a car. iSeeCars.com, a website that aggregates used car listings from all around the country, recently ran through the numbers on millions of vehicles that are currently on the road to determine which last the longest. Alternatively, you could choose to look at this list as vehicles likely to be driven by owners who travel long distances. Either way, we've laid out the top 15 vehicles most likely to hit or even surpass the 200,000-mile mark. It's important to note that while these are the vehicles that have stood the test of time up until today, we can't guarantee future results if you decide to opt for one of these from a current model year. That said, unless we specifically say so in the text below, we've used pictures of current models for illustrative purposes. Now, with all of that out of the way, scroll on down for the top 15 vehicles most likely to crest 200,000 miles. 15: Toyota Sienna 14: Honda Odyssey The 15th spot and 14th spot on the list of the top 15 vehicles most likely to surpass 200,000 miles are both minivans. Spoiler alert: They will be the only two minivans on the list. According to iSeeCars, 3.2% of both of these family haulers crest the 200,000-mile mark, making them the best bets for families looking to put a ton of miles on their machines. 13: Honda Ridgeline 12: GMC Yukon The next spot on the list is occupied by the Honda Ridgeline pickup truck with 3.7% lasting past 200,000 miles. Unlike any of the other midsize trucks it competes with, the Ridgeline is based on a unibody chassis. Opting for this more car-like structure — as opposed to a traditional body-on-frame layout — allows Honda's hauler to ride and drive more like a car. Up next is the GMC Yukon, also with 3.7% past the 200K mark, and the first, but very much not the last, big traditional SUV you'll see on the list. In fact, get ready to see a whole bunch of 'em, including several from GMC parent General Motors.

Ford preparing camera-based Front Lighting System

Mon, Jul 20 2015

Ford's European Research and Innovation Center in Aachen, Germany is in pre-development on two new lighting technologies that Ford expects to be available "in the near-term." The Camera-Based Advanced Front Lighting System uses GPS and a video camera in the rear-view mirror housing to move the adaptive headlights with the road terrain. When the car detects a roundabout or an intersection, for instance, the light beam widens to offer a bigger view of what's coming from the side. If GPS detected the intersection, the location is tagged so that the beam automatically widens when it is encountered again. The Spot Lighting system uses an infrared camera behind the grille, and is similar to but less complex than systems employed by Mercedes-Benz and Audi. When the infrared camera detects a potential hazard like a person or an animal in or near the road up to 390 feet ahead, it can shine one of two LED spotlights on the danger. A display in the dash cluster will highlight the object with a yellow or a red box, depending on the how close it is and how dangerous it might be. Even though there are only two spotlights, mounted next to the fog lights on the lower front bumper, the system can detect up to eight objects at a time. Don't expect to see these features come to the US, though. Our regulations remain opposed to such headlight trickery, so until that changes, Ford says it's focusing these developments on the European and Asian markets. The video above shows how it works, the press release below has more details. FORD DEVELOPING ADVANCED HEADLIGHTS THAT POINT OUT PEOPLE, ANIMALS IN THE DARK, AND WIDEN BEAMS AT TRICKY JUNCTIONS - Ford is developing advanced lighting technology that enables drivers to more easily see potential hazards when driving at night - Camera-Based Advanced Front Lighting System widens beam at junctions and roundabouts after interpreting traffic signs - GPS-enabled system uses forward-facing camera to remember roadways and direct lighting to help drivers better see bends in the road – effectively lighting the way home on previously travelled routes - Spot Lighting uses infra-red camera to detect pedestrians, cyclists, and animals, and highlight the potential hazards; system can detect up to eight potential hazards and highlight two highest priorities using specially designed headlights and on-screen display AACHEN, Germany, July 17, 2015 – Driving at night, particularly on unlit roads, can be a nerve-wracking experience.
