1934 Ford Truck All Steel! on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
This truck has a 302 motor, a C-4 tranny, rear end 9 inch rear end and Ford mustang front end. It has a 34 grill and emblem with a 32 insert. American racing wheels, toyo tires, Sony 10 disc CD player and gold classic instrument gauges. I have very good hood pieces and even the paint to paint the hood. The truck only has 2619 miles and has been sitting for 7 years. It runs and drives nice. All real nice old henry steel custom gas tank. Working cowl vent. Vintage heat under seats w/ access to master cylinder, batter, starter solenoid. 1935-36 passenger car front+rear bumpers w/ chrome brackets and pinstripped red. Ignition switch wiper, lights, heater pane raises and lowers for shows w/ small switch that is inbetween dome light heading. Exhaust manifolds have a little surface rust from being in the carport and need to be coated I just never got around to doing it myself. There is red gold leaf on the tailgate logo w/ red pinstripes. The boards in the back of the truck are all brand new oak as well as brand new rub strips and has a flushed in gas door. The shifter is a swan neck genie shifter with the boot as well as an E-brake. The truck has front disc brakes and rear drums. The firewalll is smoothed out. The entire completed box of the truck is new substructure and a new tailgate.
This truck has been sitting in a 3 sided carport with tarps in front to cover it for about 5 years and I have probably only put about 100 miles in those 5 years. I start it often but never get to really drive it anymore. I don't have the time to truly enjoy this truck anymore and need to have this truck go to someone who will truly drive and enjoy it like I used to. I do not know of any company to transport this truck if you were to buy it, so the transportation of this truck is all on you but I will work with your schedule if you do buy it for you to receive it at the time best for you. If you have any questions about this truck please feel free to ask and I'll answer and give you information that I can. |

Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
