My overly protected, sheltered, special edition Mustang convertible is now available for your bid. Based on a total production of 4,628 vehicles that was produced with the 35th Anniversary factory installed package this is approximately one of less than 600 convertibles produced in this color. The factory packages have specific features others do not. Some of these are: hood scoop,black applique on hood, black decklid applique between taillamps and silver leather door trim inserts. It comes with a LeBra to protect the front. I have only driven it in local area parades. This Mustang has always been garaged and never driven in winter weather. It has new 17" tires and is ready to drive away. If you have always wanted a "special" Mustang then this is the one for you. Jay Leno and Lee Iacocca reflect on 50 years of Ford Mustang
Mon, 30 Dec 2013Lee Iacocca oversaw the birth of the Ford Mustang back in the 1960s, rocketing the new pony car nameplate into million-unit sales territory in its initial go-round and cementing its place in the history books. Thus, we were immediately drawn to this latest episode of Jay Leno's Garage, in which the funnyman hosts Iacocca for a look at the origins of Ford's most iconic sports car. The legendary auto exec is looking notably more frail than when we last saw him, but if we're being asked around as a video guest when we're 89 years old, we'll consider that evidence of a life well lived.
Serial No. 0001 is on hand for the occasion for Jay's romp through history, as is the historic Mustang 1 showcar from 1962. Of course, the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT (in prototype form) makes an appearance at the end of the episode with chief engineer Dave Pericak, as well. Get some, below.
Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
