2005 - Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
Erie, Pennsylvania, United States
If you want a one of a kind street legal mustang that runs et's in the 10's you have found the one. Drive it to the track! This car started out as a genuine 05 Saleen S281 # 137 with screaming yellow paint. The car looks like a "normal" Saleen at first glance...however this Beast is far from normal. I will try my best to list all of the major upgrades. I realize there will be questions so please don't hesitate to ask. The engine is a 4.6 3 valve built by Fox Lake Racing and tuned by CRT performance. Upgrades include..Ford 3 valve heads with ss valves, bronze guides, and polished and balanced crank, forged Teksid aluminum block, Eagle crank, Eagle rods, Diamond pistons with relief valves, ARP main & head studs, Melling oil pump with billett gears.. no expense was spared with the rebuild and all work done by a highly experienced engine builder. I have the complete breakdown. The twin turbos are made by Precision Turbo & Engine out of Hebron Indiana. Custom aluminum intake, intercooler, Aeromotive rails, 75# injectors. The transmission is a Lyntech AODE with transbrake and lock up Cameron built convertor (3000). Original 5 speed transmission goes with car. Has 20" Saleen wheels with like new Pirelli P-Zero tires. Also included are four Bogart wheels with slicks for the track. The suspension has been modified to handle the high horsepower, I can give details if needed. Real carbon fiber hood, full roll cage and complete gauge pkg. The A/C works well as does the 500 watt factory stereo. A Predator custom tuner goes with the car. Car is tuned right now to produce @ 641 RWHP on 93 octane on pump gas. There is a full race tune programmed in the tuner ready to go. There is more HP there, but that's the max that I felt comfortable with, Unfortunately health issues are forcing the sale. This is a complete turn key street / drag car that is ready to go...fast.

Mark LaNeve named head of Ford US sales and marketing
Thu, Jan 8 2015Ford continues to rework the positions of its top marketing executives as Jim Farley moves to take over the Blue Oval in Europe and Stephen Odell becomes head of global sales. The latest shift brings Mark LaNeve in as the new vice president of US marketing, sales, service and dealer relations, effective February 1. LaNeve replaces John Felice, who is retiring. Felice was with the automaker for the last 30 years and held his most recent job since November of 2013. In addition to coordinating marketing and sales, LaNeve's other duty is to build "innovative new digital communications and transforming the retail experience for customers," according to the automaker's press release announcing the change. He reports to both Odell and Joe Hinrichs, Ford's boss of the Americas. LaNeve has a long history in the auto industry. He spent a portion of his early career with Cadillac but eventually was hired as the CEO of Volvo Cars North America. He also headed up US marketing at General Motors for several years in the 2000s. Since 2012, LaNeve has been the chief operating officer at Global Ford Team, which is responsible for the company's worldwide advertising. There's an interesting challenge ahead of LaNeve in leading the Blue Oval's US marketing and sales in 2015. Ford was the bestselling auto brand here in 2014 but overall sales fell about 1.1 percent. According to Automotive News, the company's market share dropped to 14.9 percent, a one-percent reduction and the lowest level since 2008. Read below for the automaker's official announcement of LaNeve's new job. The Ford that won't let you speed
Thu, Mar 26 2015The new Ford S-Max introduces a technology called Intelligent Speed Limiter, a cruise control setting that can read speed limit signs and automatically keep the car at the maximum posted speed even when that speed changes. The driver activates it by pressing a button on the steering wheel, the S-Max does the rest, and the minivan will inform the driver if it exceeds the limit for some reason, for instance, when going downhill. Slowing down, like when crossing from a 40 mile-per-hour zone to a 30-mph zone, is handled by fuel flow, not by the brakes - the car simply cuts engine power. It works anywhere from 20 mph to 120 mph, yet as with every other cruise control it's totally driver controlled; pressing the accelerator will override the system at any time. The aim is to help drivers avoid tickets, not take over the car. You can only get it on the UK S-Max for now. There's a video above that explains it and press release below with more information. Could this spell the end for speeding tickets? March 23, 2015 -- Breaking the speed limit is not something we always do on purpose. All the same, it can be costly in terms of fines, and driving bans, as well as playing a significant role in many road accidents. In the U.K. alone, in 2013, more than 15,000 drivers received fines of GBP100 or more for speeding. We are now launching Intelligent Speed Limiter, a technology that could help prevent drivers from unintentionally exceeding speed limits. The system monitors road signs with a camera mounted on the windscreen, and slows the vehicle as required. As the speed limit rises, the system allows the driver to accelerate up to the set speed – providing it does not exceed the new limit. "Drivers are not always conscious of speeding and sometimes only becoming aware they were going too fast when they receive a fine in the mail or are pulled over by law enforcement," said Stefan Kappes, active safety supervisor, Ford of Europe. "Intelligent Speed Limiter can remove one of the stresses of driving, helping ensure customers remain within the legal speed limit." Further new technologies available for the new S-MAX include the Pedestrian Detection system that will reduce the severity of some collisions involving vehicles and pedestrians, or help drivers avoid some impacts altogether. The versatile people-mover also is equipped to help out at junctions where it is difficult to see.
