2004 - Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
Burbank, California, United States

2004 Mustang Cobra SVT I have an outstanding 2004 Mustang Cobra for sale. Less than 12,900 miles from new. 3 owner car and the previous owner garaged it from the time he bought it. I have put about 1400 highway miles on it. Have all the Ford SVT paperwork for it. Color is silver. The engine compartment is like new and I replaced the battery a few months ago. Tires are brand new as are the SVE wheels. The cars runs and stops fantastically. You will not be disappointed!! I’m made the following changes from stock: H & R lowering springs, staggered matt black SVE 10th anniversary wheels 9’s in front 10’s in back. I put on a JLT oil recovery system to catch the oil residue from the PCV valve that gets rerouted back through the intake manifold. Looks very stock and does a great job. Maximum Motorsports caster and camber plates installed. The the biggest change I’ve made is the seating. I installed 2007 Shelby GT 500 front seats and rear seat covers to match. I did this because the original seats are very articulated and a bit of a chore to get in and out of. The new seats are simply outstanding. All the electrical seat mechanisms work as they did from the factory. A top notch job was done installing them. They look factory. I have the original chrome SVT 5 spoke factory wheels boxed up and they will go with the car.

Ford's J Mays feels vindicated by Fusion reception
Tue, 25 Sep 2012It's hard to think back now, but the same man overseeing the design of the 2013 Ford Fusion also presided over a rather lackluster period in Ford design, highlighted by vehicles like the Five Hundred and Freestyle. With the redesigned Fusion receiving high praise, J Mays tells Automotive News that he feels vindicated from criticisms suggesting he's not a daring enough designer.
When Mays took over as lead of design in 1997, he admits to having quite an ego ("My head would barely fit through the door some days. I've long since gotten over myself") and the workload to match. With the Blue Oval's portfolio full of premium brands like Aston Martin, Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo at that point, along with the bread-and-butter Ford, Lincoln and Mercury models, Mays certainly had quite the challenge.
It was in the mid-2000s that Mays took over just the premium brands, and took on the new title of Chief Creative Officer. At the time, Mays endured some criticism for looking backwards to retro styling, rather than setting a new standard for American car design - criticism that Mays says he is free from with the all-new Fusion.
Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
Ford bringing 10 custom Transit Connects to SEMA
Tue, 29 Oct 2013With 57 vehicles planned for its SEMA display, it comes as little surprise that Ford has plenty of teasers for its show cars. After showing us what it has in store for the Mustang, Fiesta and Focus ST, now we're getting a look at some of the custom creations based on the redesigned 2014 Transit Connect van.
These nine Transit Connects are decked out to various degrees of customization, but our favorite might be the chopped and lowered Transit Connect from Mob Steel (shown above), which has a similar slammed stance that we see on some custom VW Buses. On the opposite extreme, LGE & CTS Motorsports has jacked up a Transit Connect to make a Cross Country cruiser that we wouldn't mind taking on a road trip.
There are seven other teasers from various companies, and you can check them all out in the gallery above or in the press release below. Ford is also promising a tenth Transit Connect for SEMA, so stay tuned for that as well.
